Age of Mythology: the Tale of the Dragon error.

I just got the game and I had no problems when I installed it. But when I tried to start the game I got this error:

Some guys helped me with that but now I have this new error.

I had these errors about Age of Mythology and that was about being the Windows 64 bit. And then I got rid of AoM alone, I installed Age of Mythology Extended Edition that could be installed on both versions. Could your problem be about 64 bit windows? I'm not sure, tho.

Well I also have EE but with the mentioned new expansion.
I don't know but I've tried everything and nothing seemed to work..:/

I already have it. At first I had 2012 version but then I installed 2015 version and nothing, I got the same error.

It's this: mfc110u.dll
Note that the error(mfc110u.dll) occurs when I try to open the game from the Launcher file in the game directory.

I have tried several options already from there and now when I try to open the game from the launcher.exe I get the error: "The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer". Damn this is so complicated! >.<

It seems you also need that... Maybe, I dunno.

You already tried uninstall and install again, I presume? If not, try that.
If you did... Did you google the dll file?

Afaik the expansion was reported to be buggy as hell, so there is a chance this could be a pretty annoying thing to fix...

I did reinstall the game some minutes ago and installed a lot more versions of c++ and now when I launch the game I get the error: "Age of Mythology: Extended edition requires Steam to be running".

What's that about? I've never worked with the "steam" so far so I am not familiar with it.

Well kinda.

That was fixed when I uninstalled the game and installed it again. I run all the c++ packages, I installed more version, I fixed some and it worked.

I didn't know it was a steam game until I tried several options to fix the errors I got when launching it. But now everything seemed meaningless.
I played AoM since I was 12 and I really couldn't expect they would chose to make it on steam.

Well, buy it in a steam sale.
Today, pirating a game is NOT worth the hassle if you can wait a couple of months and if you are too comfortable not to use some crappy installer and crack it.
No thanks, I am way too comfortable to have a two-click install, download and play.

No, the game does not have a subscription model as far as I am aware. When you brought it from steam that should have been the only purchase required.

So despite Microsoft remaking all Age of Empire games and Age of Mythology for steam you did not expect it on steam?

Only thing I find stupid is it forces you to buy the game again. They really should have allowed one to migrate the old licences, at least for the base content. Any of the extra DLC that was made can then be sold. At the moment Nintendo is very bad for this.
