Hi everyone! I' m looking for balancing feedback on my new map, Aerie of Ruin. AoR is a different kind of AoS that offers faster play, great theme, deep strategy, and two totally different upgradable armies. The Free People army relies on numbers, while the Black Kingdom army relies on fewer, more powerful units.

On the hive you can find it here, and attached below:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/maps.php?id=8s27uz

This is a public beta release and I'm seeking feedback on game and hero balance and any game breaking strategies you might be able to find. Hopefully there aren't any bugs, but if you see any please let me know! Replays would be uber :emote_thumbup:

If you want to comment about things you like/dislike I might be able to address them in the Aerie of Ruin 1.0 release!

Thanks to everyone who gives it a shot!

I only used Warrior Poet and General but this map is not bad. However, some suggestions.
Make the level 10 ability of the poet better, its weak compared to his training thingy. Also, make the artilery thing for the General credit him for the kills cos currently it doesn't, which is quite stupid.
Thats all for now :D

Heres my feedback :

I ended up getting brood mother via random so I will start with her, in my opinion when she dies her lackeys should disappear, at higher levels you can have too many towers, I know its with her ultimate but maybe you could add an aura if they are built so close together it has negative effects on them, seeing as I had 18 towers up it could be quite easy to focus down any melee hero and kill them in a few seconds.

In general : The idea of rebuilding towers is really great, I do think the dark side monsters could be toned down a bit, I found that for the most part our spawns were always at the free peoples necks. Fate shards could drop on death. Could also use more custom items. Maybe even random events, none that would favour any team but be a nuiscence to both teams. Spawns you buy could work for the person who bought them, i.e kills and money go to the spawn buyer, however you cannot actually control the spawn but that could be a bit complicated.

Bugs :
The quest for being first to 12 doesn't complete.
Spawn feast doesn't give credit (possibley intended?)

Overall a nice solid map, but it could use a bit more heroes, but you can't expect so much from a beta version so good luck and hope you do well. :)

Cool, thanks for the great feedback and sweet ideas.

@Zack The General should def get credit for those kills, I'll look into. Great catch!

@ben I'm glad you had fun with the broodmother! I'd love to see a replay of how you used 18 towers...usually when they are that thick you can cover one lane but it leaves the other routes exposed. Are you suggesting that creeps should drop fate shards? Interesting...if you're talking about heroes, they actually do drop them on death, fyi.

@red not sure what you mean, there are a ton of custom trigger spells in this map!

Ahh, I never saved any replays but what I had done was built them around in the middle tower point, didnt have to worry about the middle at all. :p

Well I was talking about heroes dropping, I was probably wrong then ha my bad.

Creeps dropping shards though could be a good idea. :p
