About To Get 3DS Max 9

Im about to get 3ds max 9, will this work for wc3 modeling. The gmax one wouldnt convert to mdl after i made something but will 3ds max 9, full version be able to export the models to use in wc3? I dont want to get it if it wont work for wc3 modeling.

It works, but the exporter is a bit troublesome for most unexperienced users. The best is that you use Milkshape if you were unable to get a "legal" copy of max 5.

Not if you work with it, but it is a really a waste if you want to "get" it only for wc3.

educational editions cost 90$. the 3500 dollars edition is the one you use for making commercial 3d products; but still, it's better if he just uses milkshape, 90$ is still not worth it(unless you get it through othr means )

b) i thought dex script was just for gmax

Na, it works for G-max, Max 5 & 9....

Indeed, however, if you are inexperienced with dex, animations will screw on the export (rotation keyframes, that is).

that's because dex, won't tell you if you made rotation that's over 90º, like art tools do.

hm, i decided not to get it... instead im using magos and oinkerwinkles vertex editor. I cant do a whole lot, but with a little bit of tweaking its doable. Gmax would be nice if there was some program to get it from gmax to mdl.

get dex, it works with gmax and any version of 3dsmax.
