Ability Art Final v3.1

This bundle is marked as approved. It works and satisfies the submission rules.
Rpg-like map (no story, just fight) with many abilities swappable during play and different gamemodes (Gladiator,AoS,Arenas...). Most of the abilities are crafted from 3 elements that are often, depending on mode, bought for Crystal. For 1-10 players.


Features:

* No upkeep.
* Abilitycrafting/Spellcrafting - something like Invoker from Dota but with 9 things called elements - so players need to remember at least 12 letters to craft a build: for example: EEE + EEW + EET + EXX = Keeper of the Grove, spell combos are shown in Quests and Spell Tooltips.
* Retraining is free, per spell and relatively short cooldown. Spells are often changed in combat.
* 1-10 players across multiple game modes: Escort (PvE/PvP)-> Team Battles-> AoS (Moba), Arenas-> Open World PvE and/or PvP called Battlegrounds, challenging Team Hero Survival called Gladiator with scaling difficulty based on number of players continuing with free-for-all (-> is for mode continues with). More info: gamemodes.
* Professions: Apothecary, Alchemy, Engineering (can build Barricades), Necromancy, Arcanist, Blacksmithing, Admiral, Space Marine, Ice Cream Man


Mechanics:

* Retraining/Unlearning is always 100% of investment back.
* Crystal is used to buy abilities/elements, Heroes gain more Crystal with increasing levels.
* Get elements shown in an ability tooltip to level up the ability, same for learning the ability.
* Some gamemodes, like Gladiator-Hard do not give back Crystal but Elements instead varying gameplay.
* Game start may be quite simple and resembling just Warcraft 3 default Heroes.

*Map was formerly named Spellcraft Open Remasted, since this map is based on this map Spellcraft Open 3.8.9 - Warcraft 3 Maps - Epic War.com, but not this map: Spellcraft 0.63a Beta Spellcraft 0.63a Beta - Warcraft 3 Maps - Epic War.com. This is no longer the case since gameplay experience of aforementioned maps and this map is different.

    Here are Paillan's comments from there:
    The map is quite empty, even in the zones you made it's quite empty. I see you put a lot of effort into the AoS zone, but the rest is kind of meh. I suggest making the minimap invisible so that the player can't see the almost completely empty map.
    Spells seem to work okay as fas I could see, the item shop is quite expensive and only has 3 items, which is okay fora first version.
    The gladiator mode bosses are very easy, the Mammoth for instance had a lot of health and mana, but his stats were 1 1 1, making him extremely slow and easy to kill. Even the waves are harder. It should be the other way around. Creeps should always seek the player in gladiator mode, sometimes you have to go seek the creeps if you are not in the middle.
    Here are mine:
    1. Why remove the Attack command...
    2. You can add hero glow to those which haven't any: How to add Hero Glow without Modeling
    3. Forget Spell gets a cooldown even if it is cancelled.
    4. The void space on the map could be filled with other nice additions.
    5. Game modes should be varied. They're very similar, always the same items and elements.

    Overall, this needs more work to be a good map.

    Why not have a structure changelog in the map thread's description? It's annoying and time eating to search for it as posts/comments.

    ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
    • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
    • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
    • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

    from map description: *Map was removed from this site to not let people download bugged / "updates changing gameplay experience things" / not final version. And due to map renaming/dev. changing goals. It was not a good attempt at Remaster of Spellcraft anyway.

    my opinion:
    I dont like playing games that feature bugs or patches that are going to change gameplay.
    Since we knew we are going to finish the map we decided to finish it like it should be and then re-upload it.
    In my opinion: totally worth it.

    You can ask reviewers/moderators to set your maps to Awaiting Update instead of deleting them with all comments on them. That way no one except the staff can access said map threads. You can change your map and thread's name too.
    If everyone deletes their maps and reuploads them on whims imagine the chaos it'll be. Plus, it's not honourable to hide your mistakes like that. I mean, you even mentioned there was something wrong with the other version. You could just have made an announcement that the map had issues and people should wait for the fix rather than download and play that version.

    I believe that everything regarding this theme is clearly stated in map description. + nobody posted anything about previous version being a mistake it was simply devs. decision to change name and things

    No idea that Awaiting update could do that. Well Im sorry for this possible Chaos. This definitely wont happen again

    edit2: Well if you really want in depth analysis its quite long: main reason for removal was that people started to playing it, I looked at statistics from wc3. It may look completely stupid but, map was uploaded primarily to get some feedback like an experiment. Except versions 6+ (AoS mode bugs), map had almost no bugs, was balanced quite well even if a little hard and was like quite enjoyable. I can highly recommend Spellcraft Open Remastered v 5.3.4 and v 5.7.9 those were the best versions in my opinion.

    But. since v 6+ AoS started to get a little buggy, people started to playing it and it needed to be moved to 1.30 and it has quite questionable name and new version started to get a custom content that has nothing in common with Spellcraft tradition, I think the best decision was to simply rename it. Removing it was not needed but it helped to go through 1.28/1.30 transition bug and i believe that it prevented confusing people that expected map to continue like a true remaster of Spellcraft (logically, it would then have like old gamemodes like Hunter etc.), not continue with custom stuff. Also I highly doubt that the original creators (TheZizz,Mech1000,Elven-Marksman) and players of Beta, would be like happy with versions 5.6.0 + because it also added a new element, shuffled spell list a little. etc.

    So it has like nothing to do with honor or hiding mistakes. There were a few a little stupid comments by me at the old page but there were also a quite stupid comments by some other people (stupid in my subjective opinion) so I guess this sums like totally everything.
    edit3: "stupid" is a little exaggerated, more like, it could look like that. Well Im just trying to answer every possible question you asked or something like that. + again: no idea that Awaiting update did that.
