A way to change a unit's shadow size IN GAME?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to change the size of a unit's shadow during the game. It doesn't matter to me if it affects one unit, or every unit of the same type (there will only be one of this unit anyways!).

I'm trying to make something look like it's falling by having a shadow appear and get larger until BOOM, it lands.

You'd have to make a model which looked like a shadow, and then just scale it.

Or you could use the shadow.blp texture, and make it as an image (If you know Jass, that is).

Nah that's ok, I've already got a custom model going... there... wouldn't happen to be a way to use the shadow.blp texture in my custom model... would there?

If you just made the model a flat plane with that as the texture, then you'd be good.

Ok that's what I ended up doing.

I figure you might want to know that that does have some draw backs.

I think the texture is changing when it get's to a certain distance. (that's called mip mapping right?)
