Hi!
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, delete it if this is true, i just would like to now if it is possible to permanently change the skin of a model. For example i have a model and a variant skin for it and i want to have both versions in my map. So i extract the model from the mpq and then can i somehow edit that extracted model so that it has my variat skin.

TIA,
Draco

yes that is easy to do

Open the model in wc3modeleditor

Change the skin to the one you want it to have, and then use save as

And make sure you use save as. Then just import this newly saved model to your map together with your skin (texture).

To change a skin for a model permently you need to save you model to the mpq after changing the skin (texture), by using the normal save, but really can't recommend doing that.

Thanks but I don't now how to do that^^ Could you tell me how?

I actually already told you, but I give you the longer explanetion. You need to download Magos modeleditor and mdlx converter from tools section (here in hive).

And then just do what I said. You will find the skins in the texture option.

Anyway just send me the file (use pastebin and send me the link in a pm) and I do it + I will send you a picture tutorial about how to it more precise.

Also please introduce yourself to hive.
