Alright, GameGoat here again, and I've got a few questions.
Let me lay it out real smooth before we start: I'm brand new to this forum, and well, most forums in general. They scare me with their massive databases and absurd amounts of dataflow. Now that thats out of the way, my questions.

Actualy, I think I'll start off with a statement:

Ok, I'm working on a modern military type map, and I was thinking that it would be more realistic if instead of loads of health, your character / bots had high amounts of 'dodge.' I was going to use the Evasion skill, just, with upped stats.

Now, this brings me to my questions:
A) Is this a good idea? Will I have enough to work with via that combat system?
B) Is there a way to make it so you can bypass a % of the evasion skill through an ability?
C) I'd need help with a trigger I was hoping to use:
-Whenever target 'dodges' (you miss), make spell effect Dust Explosion (which I already have) occur in a random location near the target. Is this possible?
Any feedback would be great!

No? Why's that? I was hoping on using it to 'replace' health?
Hmm...
What about using a very low mana bar and an auto-on mana sheild of some kind called 'Luck' or something?

Standard? Yes.

Well. Yes. I could go the standard route for combat.
High health. Higher with stronger units.
Direct damage abilities.
Fast attacks.
Ect.

But I was hoping to do something new.
Mana sheilds for 'luck.' (IE. The higher level you / your units are, the more trained in combat they are, thus able to avoid bullets and stuff with training. And luck, mana sheild for luck so you have 3 mana, 3 chances that you'll avoid an attack.

Or something like that.
Replies are great. :D

Make a trigger that causes the unit to miss or hit according to the distance to the target, then if the unit misses cause the "random dust explosion". Wouldn't be too hard, you can also make units more accurate and others with faster attack speeds according to the distance to their target.

Perry, my man...

You, sir, have nailed it square on the head my good man. That sounds like the perfect way. Unfortunately (for me, and any poor sap that wants to help me) I'm a bit stunned in the ways of the triggerings. Alas, my most complicated triggers are those for a very simple version of Wintermaul Wars or something like that. If you could point me in the right direction by starting the code for me or pointing me to a guide, it'd be much appreciated. :D
-thanks again all,

You'll need to know Jass for this one, its not a tough trigger to do in Jass but it isn't the sort of trigger you jump right into just as you start... I could hack it up for you and show you the constants so you can edit it very easily. Just ask if you want me to.
