A little help with some beautification and the hot n cold

hi peoples, hope everyone is well and good. I have a couple of questions and i was wondering how do you change the interface ingame, for example if you look at metroid or night of the dead they either have new textures (instead of the standard brick wall and vines along side the minimap) or completely blacked out inteface or hud which ever way you wanna call it ^^. does anyone know how i can change it to a different image and what size the tga file would have to be?

second question ^^

I want units to lose mana at night and regain it during the day i did a trigger saying at night time every 2 sec -2 from units mana percentage and did this using a variable. But when i did this all it did was drain the units mana completely and i dont think it would work in MP so im kinda looking for the same thing as trolls (and no i dont suffer from the 'metoo' virus :D its a different concept. Anywhose thanks for taking the time to read this and hope for your answers soon.

To drain mana I'd just make a bunch of dummy units cast the Blood Mage's Siphon Mana ability on each player and remove the visual effects.

To change the in-game UI is a little complicated, try looking in the tutorials.

to set the in-game style you have just to change the pathes in game-interface section in WE i think... (sry cant say more precisely - have no WE at mom :? )

thank you for your replies :) , as for the dummy mana siphon i haven't quite got round to doing that yet but will do soon and seem the easiest way fo doing it ^^. the console... im still stuck i used wc3viewer to change the the file type to blp and used the viewer to find out the sizes of each part, however when i import the new picture on my map and try to use it it doesn't work and all i get is a black inteface, i have tried changin the path so that it acts like a skin but to no avail. any more ideas?

Hmmm, the UI is kind of complicated to explain (actually, just time consuming on my part :(), but there's some pretty basic things that might have gone wrong:

The interface texture needs to be split up into a bunch of peices (4 I think), all the right size. If they're the wrong size, it'll just look distorted, not invisible. Or maybe if the texture is too big, it's invisible, I dunno.

If all the pictures are split up correctly (exactly like the ones you'll find in the mpq), then PROBABLY the problem is the alpha channels. But, that's a whole other issue, it depends on what image editors you have, best to find a tutorial for that.

The importing and paths and stuff is straightforward, that most likely isn't the problem.
