I just going irritated and confused - how Blizz neglect one of the main features of the warcraft 3?
It's probably easier for them to control maps via a StarCraft II Arcade platform (all maps on their server/HDDs) instead of leaving them to be uploaded as if uploading a random image on this site. That way, they can faster exclude racist, pornographic and whatnot content and of course properly enforce the EULA.

And for instance, if somebody will create a custom campaign (appropriate BE buildings and units, more maps for Dimensional gates quests, Black Temple in Shadowmoon Lands, not in Hellfire Peninsula) that enhances and rewrites bloodelf tft campaign to be more lorewise - they can remove it!

I don't know what's their policy on their own maps being edited but I'm pretty sure overwriting their stuff isn't allowed and not even possible outside of personal computers/storage devices.

well, maybe we'll get the experience we were promised one day eventually.. I, for one, have been enjoying Reforged so far but maybe because it's kinda the same thing gameplay wise

Campaigns are still crashing with the 0:00:00 thing. Even happened on cutscenes. Retry works anyway, but it's a falldown to receive the laggy camp menu then click on it to load again.

I would like that someday a fix with the memory/cpu usage and lag on lobby browser because it's practically unusable. Merge all realms like they were on 1.31 too.

I'm still on the opinion that Reforged crash and burn was because the Suit behind this project was thinking on terms of a Mobile game instead of treating this like the milestone for Pc gaming the game is.

Maybe in 2022 or 1.34 the game will be fully functional and worth of the prize. At the end of the day, this proves that buying GOTY is better for the soul and blood pressure than Pre-Ordering.

What still amuses me in a bad way is the casualization of the playing dificulty. Normal looks easier than casual in SC2, and Hard looks easier than the old normal. There is no new content for Veterans to compensate, even if the plan was moving these players to multiplayer, you could imagine several new maps designed for that purpose, but nothing.

Well, this are updates. Normally this is stuff that could be postponed until you get the big changes rolling. But in the current situation it is, just from a PR perspective, wise to pump the small fixes out imediatly while bigger issues get worked on.

I really appreciate the sound fixes, though. It was kinda annoying to get the reforged deathsounds when you expect different ones. I hope they also get the steadily repeating sounds fixed as soon as possible.

They kind of fixing the tornado model but not writing it on the patch notes makes me think that there may be more than what patch notes suggests that they have fixed/changed. Interesting that they don't write this stuff. Maybe they don't want to hear "Wow, so instead of fixing *insert big problem*, they ignored it and really fixed the *insert small problem* ?! nice priorities small indie company... " stuff I guess, IDK.

BTW, did they removed the splash screen for Reforged too? I don't remember seeing one.
This is what splash screen in classic looks like:

EDIT: It was removed in later patches but Reforged should have added a remastered version of that image...Maybe they found it too hard to remaster that???

That Arthas cover image, along with the other ones in the series, were award winners in department of visuals among video games back in the day.

They may be quite old, but they aren't outdated. Those images were projects of their own, the attention to details, like in all wow covers as well, is quite great. They don't need remastered version, it is not technology that made them and it is not the upgraded technology that could make them better.

It's expected, sorry. It always has been this way when people updated maps/campaigns and you re-downloaded them over the the ones on your HDD and then tried to load a save file on a previous map/campaign version.
Now, the issue is:
"This can easily mean 24+ hours of progress in the bonus campaign with Rexxar. This is beyond stupid from blizzard." (1.32.2 now I cant load any campaign save files)
if you are forced to update.

BTW, did they removed the splash screen for Reforged too? I don't remember seeing one.
Seems like cutting ties with the Classic.

@Razorclaw_X In one of your previous posts, you said something like they've fixed something regarding the Custom Campaigns in the editor. I'm not sure I understood it right. Have they really fixed something regarding the Custom Campaigns?

If yes, that's really good news. It means that they're planing to return them and are on their way, step by step. Though we have no clue how long will it take. :(

I understand that/why people are permanently upset. But I myself am happy for updates. This is not a big update but I hope they will keep working on it. I have plenty of time. Just keep fixing, and hopefully make the campaign fun to play like Starcraft 2. Achievements would be a nice addition to the campaign!

My refund still stand. I will probably rebuy the game after x number of patches.

let's hope it's not x number of years, especially fan worked ones.

Yeah lets not hope that.

Fortunately, I have too much to do the coming months. Aint got much time for gaming. However, whenever they add brutal mode or something to the campaign, they got my money back.

You know what - I appreciate that they fixed some issues, I really do, but I cannot shake the feeling that the whole previous patch and most of this one are fixing stuff that should have been fixed before releasing the game.

Tyrande’s inventory will no longer be absent on the Daughters of the Moon and The Awakening of Stormrage missions in the Classic campaign.
Wasn't this as an issue since 1.31?

Lady Vashj has a small update to her head to address her human ears.
Hahahahaha :D

Fixed an issue where new Reforged death sounds were playing in Classic Mode.
From what I played Reforged before refunding, I really wish there was an option to turn these off completely in "HD".

Players are now able to leave the matchmaking queue in versus mode.
Yeah, I'm sure no one could have guessed that people would want such an option /s.

When a player leaves a match, remaining players no longer receive the additional message “Blizzard has left the game.”'
This has been an issue since day 1 of the BETA...

The Grid Hotkey option now works correctly for campaign and hero units.
Cool... But how about next time we get an option to edit hotkeys in-game, not through editing a .txt file? :)

---

Overall - a decent bug-fixing patch, but Reforged needs more than just bug-fixing patches. Hopefully some actually meaningful updates will come soon.

Ping ping ping ping!
Seems from that post that they lied about hosting the games on their servers. Wait until the reforged userbase discovers that the multiplayer experience was better in the pre-1.29 patches, the ones where the bots still worked, people will drop the official client to play multiplayer fast, then again I've seen the number of players in eurobattle increase

I wonder in how many more ways can Blizzard destroy the game and split the community

"Blizzard has left the game.” must be the most ironic bug, makes me smile every time

You'll not like it but I urge people not to be partial customers. True, if you go into a shop, you don't buy everything but what you need but you pay accordingly not for the whole stuff in the shop while only getting/needing a few apples.

Tbh, I never really played this game that much with randoms through battle.net or garena or whatever. I have for the most time played with friends or alone. After they fixed the hosting issue on battle.net I have been playing much much more, mostly private games with a bunch of friends. Never have I ever played a custom campaign either. I am not as freaked out as most people on this forum even though I have refunded and refuse to play the game before they change/fix it really hard.

My personal expectations from this game was: Incredible new campaign (didn't happen), arranged teams (idk if this worked, haven't checked), World Editor improvements (There has been some I guess, but not amazing) and I didn't want features to fade away (on principle. But mostly features I personally used).

Hence, if my personal expectations are somewhat satisfied, I will buy the game and have some fun.

Welcome to the gaming industry. Most players buy games and only use singular parts of it (like i consider campaigns in most games being extended tutorials and thus don't touch them. Honestly, i didn't used any of the features that were lost with reforged...). Nowadays you need to provide multiple packages that probably wont be used by everybody to get enough players. Except when you move in the indie market. There you need to provide a niche and need to fill it to the fullest.

I know, its just a thing Warframe fanboys like to say to their devs, despite Warframe being developed by a massive company.

Although the communication of the warframe team is so extensive, frequent and wholesome that i can fully understand the massive Tenno-swarm that defends their devs.

The thing that saddens me the most about the whole thing with this patch is that I don't expect to see another patch in at least a month from now. :(

The importance is for all the options to be there, none taken out. New ones? That's great! But never useful ones absent.

That if the game has multiplayer as well.
If you're not a story person, that's you but you still use the editor pretty extensively and play with others. That's about 2.5/3 of the game.

The thing that saddens me the most about the whole thing with this patch is that I don't expect to see another patch in at least a month from now.
It better be good too.

I am afraid this is going to turn into meme... "Year 2025: Retria still asking for custom campaigns on blizzard forums."
"Hey, Bob, have we fixed custom campaigns yet?"
"Yeah, I've just seen someone thanking us on forums, so someone on the team must've had 'em fixed."
"Okay, so I'm deleting custom campaigns from backlog. Moving on."

To be honest, I don't think Blizzard can fix Reforged, no matter how many patches they put out.

Its certainly possible to fix the game at a core level, but doing so would require time, resources and money that I can't imagine a company like Blizzard would ever want to invest in a game that already sold as many copies as its going to. Once you get past launch month and fufill the preorders, there's no more incentive for the publisher to greenlight any major overhauls or fixes outside of an expansion pack. And of course, if they did that, you'd have to pay more money just to get the game in the state its supposed to be in.

The fundamental problem is Blizzard have stated they have no plan on adding in high fidelity cutscenes, they're not going to overhaul campaign maps and they're not changing the core game in any significant way. Even if they managed to read all the features they overlooked, the game would still just be Warcraft 3 with prettier graphics. That's it.

"Warcraft 3 overhauled into a modern AAA gaming experience" is a lot more exciting and interesting than "HD mod for WC3." That's something you can't patch out. The design of the game is fundamentally broken. We don't need Warcraft 3 again, we already had it.

i sadly must agree, though theyve arguably already done this with d3 and ROS, but the d3 backlash was never like reforged.

its not even about unwillingness to invest into a dead game, its about unwillingness to invest into a game which gave blizzard the most hated game title on metacritic

and have the nerve to openly blame the community for their backlash....

If you have legitimate bugs with documented evidence preferably screenshots i suggest messaging Kam and avoiding the official forums since its unlikely the community managers even give a shit.

Kam relayed the info for fixing the broken hyjal mission from feeback and hes already taken mine to fix another 2 broken missions for the next upcoming patch.

Those wondering upcoming fixes are the gates in A new power in lordaeron which break the AI in rrforged since they are intact and not broken by default and illidans missing inventory in Classic RoC after he eats the skull which is an old 1.31 bug

Bugs and hotfixes aren't even on my shortlist, personally. Step one before anything else should be readding single player and custom campaigns. When major features of the original game get completely lost, top priority should be adding them back.
