You know, I won't even talk about quality (its top-notch, obviously, but quality can be found elsewhere too).
What really makes your models stand out is the overall design. You make perfect design and animations that make the unit feel not just alive, but also unique. If you were designing...
"Hey, Bob, have we fixed custom campaigns yet?"
"Yeah, I've just seen someone thanking us on forums, so someone on the team must've had 'em fixed."
"Okay, so I'm deleting custom campaigns from backlog. Moving on."
Well, there was some website - russian, I think, but not the one starting with X (is it still illegal to mention it, btw?) which basically poached warcraft III models from all over the internet. I may or may not have used it a few years back, when lots of models temporarily disappeared from Hive...
The site is down on Chrome and Edge for me, on Firefox it complains of being a malware site, and doesn't connect even when I ignore the warning.
It would be a shame to lose that treasure trove.
Anyone knows anything?
By the way...
Some members of Hive are working for Blizzard's Classic Games team, if memory serves me right. Why haven't we heard from them yet?
They could reassure us that the team IS working on fixing all the problems, or plain tell us that NO, managements doesn't give a crap, so people don't...
Then you're lucky. 'cos I have.
And no, I was originally talking that a breaking a fifteen year old game doesn't qualify for "day one" excuse. You brought up time they spent working, I just addressed that.
Hey, now Warcraft III and Reforged actually add up to 10.0!
How much they have worked is no concern of mine. Twelve years like Diablo III or fifteen minutes before demo, like Diablo Immortal, doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is quality of customers get their hands on.
But more importantly, it must not break a 15 year old game, that worked...
1. Its not Day One. Its day Fifteen Years and then some. And they dare break classic game and make us download useless crap.
2. When a company screws up, it deserves all it gets. If it drowns, it drowns. No Man's Sky recovered? Good for them. A hundred games like it got a plug pulled on them...
Its not about bugs. Its about forcing 30gb of garbage down throats of those who didn't sign up for it. Its about not working editor. Its about promises - like altered campaigns - being fulfilled to absolute minimum.
Basically its about Blizzard being Bethesda here. Or even EA.
I clicked Play with a thought "Come on, it cannot be worse than absurd childish crap that was in TFT".
I was wrong.
This is by far the cringiest fight scene I have EVER seen. Even counting 90s Adventures of Sinbad series.
Okay, are there any games with decent editors that are easy to mod, which allow custom assets, and have something like GUI triggers?
(my first thought was to use something like Elder Scrolls Creation Kit, but TES games don't allow multiplayer without some serious shennanigans)
