There's a lot of people reviewing these maps and there's a lot of effort put into these reviews. For example @Cigaro wrote a very good one about my map here: Lordaeron Plaza about ten hours ago and I could only answer now - sorry about that!
But I really want to say thanks to all these people...
In the mapping thread for this contest I created a table with some numbers for the 2v2 maps already in use (on ladder and in the 2v2 Ugri Challenge earlier this year), so I made a table with the same information for the contest maps:
I solved it through switching to english world editor. Apparently with other languages - or at least some - the normal melee initialization trigger is not recognized as normal and thus triggers the melee yes/no check to a no which then brings you back to a patch version prior to Alchemist...
Did you only call yourself a sailor because of all those boat maps? ;)
And about mafe... if mafe lives in Europe it might simply be sleeping time like it should be for me as well.

It would be more than just sad if we only had the ten current entries.
I'm not against an extension of the deadline. But of course the judges have to be heard for that. But my guess would be that they won't oppose this - Lawliet for example has his final qualifying match in the...
Looks decent - and another urban map on the list, which I like.
That's really sad. But there are still a lot of participants without an entry and some even without a WIP preview so I fear even more dropouts - please make this fear go away!
First of all: YAY FELWOOD!
Second: I like this creep camp preview! And I do realize that the circlet of nobility stands for a level 2 permanent item or the tome of health for a level 1 power-up and so on... but...
Third: ...the runes all look the same so I can't tell whether it's a rune of...
@Imperator - sad to read this. We got quite a lot of dropouts already and we're just barely over the halfway mark.
@mafe , @aSpaghettiMan wanted to join a few days ago but is not on the list yet.
So... I took a bit of time off from map making and instead took a look at some 2v2 maps that are currently in use. The first 11 in the following table are from the ladder map pool, the bottom 6 were the maps used in the 2v2 Ugri Challenge in February. Some of the creators of these maps are also...

- Sarah Kerrigan
It would be pretty, but in every map where you can also have air units, they will be superior - and can be produced more reliably.
But another thing for a water-heavy map: There are some creeps that have amphibious...
The AI won't use Taverns either and only buys Zeppelins from the Goblin Labs - so never use a Shredder or Sappers - and never hire any unit from the mercenary camps either. So that would be a definite issue for every map that has some island(s) only accessible by boat and no Goblin Lab either...
I do take your concerns seriously, but I don't agree with you about Chaco and I think you're being to hard and also I think your choice of words is inappropriate. I am pretty sure that Chaco knows the game quite well and is up to the current meta even with a reduced personal gaming experience...
The undead shipyard does - but that one is not invulnerable and it is a campaign building. Also the map editor does not see an undead shipyard as a violation of the Melee yes or no decision, but the judges may.
We got one experienced caster, one experienced player and one experienced map maker...
You weirdos do realize that we still got a whole month to go? I thought I was impatient.
Also some more wip from me:
But I'm not quite satisfied with this yet.
I do like the idea Cigaro proposed here about making the judgment a two-stage process and I actually have been in some juries for architectural contests that worked that way. However, I think it is too late for this very soon upcoming contest to implement this concept now. But we should talk...
I got good and bad news - I asked ToD and he's also too busy. But I got a positive reply from Ena1337 ( Frozen Throne - Northrend - ENA1337 - Player Profile , Twitch ). So he would be another nomination from my side. I still like the idea of a trio of a caster, a top player and a map maker...
I would like to nominate Chaco ( Twitch ). As an experienced caster he knows the game well and of course also a lot about the mechanics and map balances and all the other tasty stuff we're looking for in a qualified judge.
Speaking as one of those currently polishing their map from the last contest, I'd still be able to start a new map project. It would only mean that my tower defense will be postponed.
And about judges again - I could ask some people but I don't want it to look like I'm picking anyone who would...
I'm always willing to improve this map. Although the thing with the base entrances I actually did on purpose to make it unusual. But nevermind, it was an idea that didn't fully work out. I did read what you wrote about the creep camps in your review and I would like to contact you next week...
Thanks again to everyone who participated in any way in this contest, be it with a map, as a judge, as a host (Mr. Henci) or by voting in the poll! Let's see if we can get some of these maps up on the ladder pool. Also the next contest is already in discussion ( Next Melee Mapping contest...
My intention was not to force anyone to do this job nor to make this a punishment for people who win a contest so they'd be unable to do it twice in a row or whatever. It was just a suggestion. But besides mapmakers we could also ask professional players (or former ones) or shoutcasters or...
I'm in favor of doing so. It'll come soon enough.
Weather effects are fine with me.
Are there any information about what kind of imports would not look odd with Reforged?
But if we agree to allow imports they should not be game breaking or confusing like destructibles looking like something...
