Zombie Holdout

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
It is a zombie map. You have marines that need to have their ammo replenished from crates dropped from your helicopters. The helicopters have to get the ammo from a pile of supplies at the top of the map. To train a unit it uses a random citizen. Without citizens you cannot train units. If someone gets hit by a zombie they take damage until they die and become a zombie. Holdout for 20 minutes to survive. Your hero is a simple robot that also drops ammo.
You can also train works to build barricades.
-update Helicopters can drop explosives, you need to capture communications building before time is up or you lose, more rescuable units

I used a one model each from

Please improve the description; tell us about the game play, heroes, items, game modes, screenshots, etc. Here's a list of BB Codes to help you. Judging from the preview image the terrain is really plain and simple with only a few tile sets used. Also there are a few player positions on the map while it shows that the map has only one player. This map doesn't fit for approval in its current state.

dude! I know your new here and all, but can you at least start at the basics before you let your back get slapped with the big boys? I mean, you should have first start reading this link: FAQ

and you do like uploading your very own maps, please do read some more tutorials and this basic link: BB Codes this would help you to your new journey, and if you need help, please just go to my profile and ask me your questions,

Greetings aks and Welcome to THW community!

I can see that you joined yesterday so I want to post few useful information and show you rules :)

The Hive includes many talented Warcraft III modders of all skill levels among its users. New members (especially friendly ones) are always welcome. Take a look around and enjoy your stay, may it be long and productive!

Some good places to start include:
Searching the site using the above link always helps, you can learn a lot that way: just reading and learning is usually the best place to start, especially if one feels overwhelmed.

Likewise, the tutorials can really teach ALL of us a thing or two.
The chat room is cool: lots of people can answer questions there.

A few other tips that might help too:
-Always search first! Did I already mention THAT?
-When creating a new thread, make the title VERY specific: so the site's search engine (and we users) can easily understand just what the thread contains.
-Post your new threads in the proper forum: read the descriptions of each one so that you know what to post there.
-If all else fails, just send me a private message! I'll try to do whatever I can to help.

Also
about maps:

If you decide to create map please check some tutorials first!
For unfinished maps, use Map Development forum! You can make thread there upload your map so people can tell you what they think just like here! Also for any help with triggers or how to clean memory leaks post triggers and create threads here Triggers & Scripts! Btw if you need any help with WE we have World Editor Help Zone here on THW! And at the end if you need any resource from icons to loading screens check this out Requests!

Once when you create awesome map, and upload it to site, guys like me will check them and give suggestions, hints and so on!

Map has 2 many memory leaks, check tutorials above :)

How you used Import Manager:

Models are small sized and that's k, but where is loading screen, map preview, icons and so on :)

How you used Object Editor:

Really poor, if I decide to help you working on map I will need like 2 hours only to find where is what created (Imagine situation with 2x units, or more).
Learn to organize things, example:
All related to zombies can be classified as undead from units to buffs and skills.

How you used Sound Editor:

You didn't.

Gameplay:

Really poor, there is no hint's how to play game at all, game is really boring, you control like 10 bases at same time, zombies are really hard to kill and there are like 20 times more zombies that humans.

No game modes.
No difficulties.
Few special events.
No scoreboard/multiboard.
No hints, quests, suggestions...
No items, custom abilities and so on....
Only 1 hero to play with (no abilities, bad stats and so on)...

Sorry map is really bad, there are errors everywhere and I show you above only some main problems! I will rate it with 1/5 and set status to rejected.

If you improve map just update this one, it will be checked once again!

Have a nice day.

A zombie map? Sounds like it could be kind of interesting.

Tested it out and, well, take a look at my review below.

A Slayer Review: Zombie Holdout

Good Points
:thumbs_up:The custom models were nice, well the one of the Barracks was anyway.

Bad Points
:thumbs_down:When the game started, my camera was not centered on my Hero.
:thumbs_down:Kind of chaotic at the beginning. Didn't really know what is going on.
:thumbs_down:I disliked the ammo system you had. It was just Searing Arrows and it was not automatcally activated and there were a lot of Marines who used it.
:thumbs_down:Your only Hero is a supply bot. Don't know if that is your main unit or what.
:thumbs_down:There are 2 quests and neither one tell you how to play. You should also add a quest that tells how to play rather than just having all of that information in the loading screen.
:thumbs_down:I don't know what the Citizens are good for. They have the "Repair" ability and that's it. If you can't use them in anyway to help you, then maybe you should have them computer-controlled instead of having them controlled by the player.
:thumbs_down:There are just too many units owned by the player scattered out all over the map. You should make them computer-controlled as well.
:thumbs_down:About 2-3 minutes after game start, the Zombies just stand there and do nothing. It takes about 10 minutes before they attack. And even then, I think Zombies are just created and ordered to attack the base, am I right?
:thumbs_down:Look at this screenshot. What is that? What is the purpose of this area?
:thumbs_down:After the Zombies came, there were so many of them, they just wiped me out within less than a minute.
:thumbs_down:The map is only for one player.

Bugs
Did not find any bugs.

Overall Opinion
Overall, I disliked this map for all of my above "Bad Points." However, I will offer you some suggestions. I think you should make a Hero for the player to play and maybe make the map for at least 2-4 players. Just about every map is funner to play when your playing with your friends. :) Gameplay was also dull, could be improved a lot. Take a look some of the other "Zombie-type" maps on the Hive. Most of them are pretty good. Sadly, this map doesn't really come close to any of those already hear. Hope you try to improve it a little. Based on this review, I will be giving you a 1/5
.

EDIT:
Darn, he beat me to it... Wow... by 16 minutes... I guess I should have refreshed the page first to see if it got rejected yet. Well, there's my review and suggestions anyway. Happy mapping! :)
