General Information

Warbands of Artania is a 9-player strategy map. The players are divided into 3 teams, with 3 players and 1 NPC on each team representing their faction.
The 3 factions are the Artanic Union, the Colored Pact and the Virulence.

Features

Each player is playing a warband supporting their faction.
Unlike many other grand strategy maps, the players themselves are not the main force in this map.
The NPC factions controls most outposts, towns and large cities, and these bases plays an essential role in the map.
Each NPC faction controls 6 major cities along with numerous smaller bases.
These 6 bases supports 50% of the player warbands' Food cap, meaning if these six bases are destroyed, the players' will be permanently left with only 75 out of a total of 150 food.
The cities provide other services to the players, like shops and unit recruitment.
Each faction also has a Capital where the leader of your faction is located.
Should your leader die, the player heroes will become unrevivable. Killing the faction leaders is an essential win condition.

The player warband consists of your hero, 2 Demi-Heroes, 4 elites and your army. Armies and Elites are trained from barracks and Command Centers.
Warbands mine gold from gold mines using workers and a Command Center, similar to traditional WCIII melee.
There is no lumber harvesting in the game.
Instead there is a resource called Tokens, which are earned by killing enemy units owned by players. Each enemy player unit slain rewards 1 token.

Quests, Events and Dungeons

Every Warband has unique quests and events they may do along with fighting the enemy.
Events and Quests provide all sorts of interesting rewards that will boost your prowess on the battlefield.
You may also find instanced dungeons around the map, and inside there are bosses who drops treasure.
