The Battle of Quel'Thalas is a strategy type of map.The timeline is from Burning Crusade where as we all know Keal'Thas tried to claim Quel'Thalas and Sunwell so he can summon Kil'Jeaden later.After succiding in his plans of claiming Quel'Thalas he started summoning Burning Legion.But the ones who ressisted stoped him.Now this map recreates the events of the Burning Crusade from what happen in Quel'Thalas,why did it happen and how did it happen.

Gameplay:
Blood Elves and Forsaken:
Doing the objectives you get on the start of the map you will have some major battles and you will get rewarded with some major bases units and in some cases alliances.Killing major undead bosses and destroying their major bases you make your chances of winning the game on high level.
Scourge:
Doing quests you get on the begining of the game you ll be able to defeat Blood Elves.
If you start early rush you ll have greater opportunity in winning the game.Also destroying Blood Elven Rune stones you will get items which gives levels also you will make Blood Elven Bases vulnerable to the Demonic attacks of the Burning Legion.
Burning Legion:
Your main priority is to remain silent and keep all 3 normal Dreadlords alive if you want to survive later game because once they are killed they cant be revived.Anetheron on the other hand can.Be warned that if Kil'Jeaden dies you ll be deeply weaken or better say your enemies will have huge chance of killing you complitely.Since you dont have workers you ll need to build army from Twisting Nether or summoning them from Dreadlords.You dont need to worry about wood and gold you get 2 of them every second.If you want levels i suggest you destroy Elven Rune stones be warned that if your demon approches the place where rune stone is he will die instantly.Only Dreadlords cant be killed by runestones.When Keal'Thas summons the Legion rune stones will turn off so you have chance of destroying Blood elves.

Tacticts:
Blood Elves:
Red Player:Using your forces that you get on start join yellow with his by destroying Undead in Sunsail Anchorage and then moving forward to his camp then with him strike Fairbreeze Village and take down the undead there and you will get some units and buildings there.Then continue your march on Silvermoon from there while building your base in Sunsail Anchorage.Destroying green 's base in Silvermoon you ll get Mu'ru.Keep him for later use and eventualy you will need to give it to Burning Legion.Destroy Sunwell and take Anveena.The help Burning Legion in their conquest.
Teal Player:Using your mages and warriors quickly overcome undead in Silvermoon while building base near way gate and in front of Silvermoon.Destroy Sunwell as soon as possible.
Purple Player:Using you good base position in woods take over Zul'Aman and destroy all undead bases and camps in your way aswell as their attacks.Fortify your position and later help your allies kill the Burning Legion.
Yellow player:Building your forces fast and rushing Deatholme will be your greatest problem because of the vast numbers of Undead.But dont forget that killing Anok'Suten you ll get a base in Suncrown village.Then destroy Deatholme with help of purple and orange and then attack Burning Legion.
Orange Player:Use your spot to and clear it from trees then build a base and help yellow in destroying gray.Later on cooperate with your allies and destroy Burnin Legion.
Kalecgos:Curently the only thing you will need to do as light blue is help Blood elves reclaim Sunwell in everyway you can.
Forsaken:Using your powers of the apotecary help Blood elves in their battle against Undead.Then put your vengence on Burning Legion.
Burning Legion:Using your Dreadlords help Blood Elves reach Sunwell by weakening Undead from inside but always remember to destroy Rune Stones for power.When you summon Kil'Jeaden make sure you get him always behind the frontlines so he cant die because you have only two chances one is alive and other one is reincaration.
Scourge:
Green:In begining you have early foothold in battle because of prepered troops everywhere in your bases.Make sure you defeat teal first then continue on other ones.
You and your allies can archieve great things working together.
Pink:You currently have two major army groups one in Deatholme and one on Sunstrider 's isle.You can use both to help your allies but you must act quixkly or your forces will become worthless.
Gray:Your adventage with using three sky barges is the only thing that can make Blood Elves concetrate on destroying those three barges while you and your allies can quickly suprise them with your outnumberness against them.Use your toops wisely you arent as weak as you think.

Try improving the terrain, offering unique areas and less uniform ones.
Maybe check out our tutorials section.

  • There are many grammatical mistakes, like 'fighted' and 'prepering'.
    You should try to get ride of them, Jocker.
  • There are many unlogical points, like Kael being able to learn Breath of Fire
    or Swordsman being able to cast Roots.
    You could try to give it some common sense.
  • Gold income and gold unit cost is reduced, why is lumber still on melee level ?
    Additionally, upgrades should have custom cost, too, then.
  • Control points could have a custom name, too. I saw two having the same number, 30.
    Is there a sense behind the numbers ?
  • Right to the sunwell, one can enter the cave, but not exit it ?
  • The bases of the enemies should not be seemingly random placed.
    You could give it order, placing allies together. It is just a random mess right now.

Clarifying author status does not mean removing all names except yours.
Who created the map ?
Please also add a complete credits list.

As it is now, it is not very informative and messy to read. It doesn't give any information on what type of map this is or anything about the gameplay in general and it lacks structure and screenshots.

I don't think you will attract any players with a description like that.
With a nicer looking description it might just become more attractive for people to download and try it out.

If you need information on how to create a proper description, check this out.

Please also clarify author status, whether Kyuubi and Thebig061 worked with you or if you have the permission to upload the map.

This map is my long lost creation that i wanted to create.I dont know how much models or how much time it take but all version from 0.01 to 0.10 are beta versions.When version 1.00 comes out the real game and events are going to be added.Until i do that this map is child 's play and can be recreated in many apsolutely many possible ways.If you want to see previus versions you can either host on battle.net or download from epicwar for now this is the newest version i created.Now if you find any bugs or glitches and all that things report to me in comment section so i can fix them.I hope you like the map and have fun playing it.

This map had a lot of fun and I really liked where the story was going. The terrain was nice, and the models, too.
However, there are some things wchich I want to point out.
First of all, at the beginning you should take down the cinematics duration. I saw in your map that is is a minute, it should be 15 seconds only.
Secondy, some tooltips had mistakes e.g. the Ultravision said that Night elves. You should fix to Blood elfs. And the tooltip of the Phoenix was missing.
And some disabled icons weren't work e.g. the Arcane golems. Check if you imported the DISBTN format of them and if you used the right path.

You should also improve the description. This helps: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/miscellaneous-tutorials-456/map-description-templates-171659/ Also you should add some screenshots.

If you change these things which are mentioned above this map will be even greater! Because I like these type of maps.

Thank you guys i will start working as soon as possible.

This map had a lot of fun and I really liked where the story was going. The terrain was nice, and the models, too.

Wait you actualy tried my map?I mean i know some people on Bnet tried it but i dont know if anyone else tried it.

Yes I have tried it and I liked it. I don't play custom maps on Bnet, only on single player. :)
You should make a better description, and also add some screenshots and details. Good luck.

I did everything about description but i dont think its finished because i dont know how to use this site as for screenshots that will take a while to put on.

So guys what do you think of mine new upload.Would it be appritiated?I mean i listen to all your advices and done whatever i could i hope this time its good.

As you can see on the picture, you need to write the [/hidden] tag, which will close the hiding and gives the ending of the hiding field. :thumbs_up:


You should remove the [/hidden] code from the beginning of the hiding (before the
code.

Just tested the map, here's my review

1- Terrain is flat, and boring
2- Doodads are misplaced
3- Some imported models are bugged and have no portraits
4- Some tooltips are missing

I have nothing against your post but i think you didnt looked on the map exactly or i didnt posted that version anyway terrain isnt complitely flat.The models that i use are bugged because i dont know how to put them in what they all call right path.As for upgrades they need to be finished also tool tip bug will be fixed soon if i have time.Also doodads are in exact place but needs to be roteted and resized.

Okay as i see i got many reports from Ardenian in last few days so i would need all people who tested the map to write down in comments what needs to be fixed and what dosent in version 1.03.As for terrain seec version 1.02 and you ll see if its flat and boring or hilly and awesome or is it something in middle i dont know.As for the custom models i ll try to find a way of making them work.I think the map has many bugs which i cant find and the teleport system for cave is too complicated so i might remove the cave from the map or just move it to its lore location and find a place for it.Silvermoon will soon be reworked.Missing tooltips are already done and rewriten.As for gramar mistakes that Ardenain spoke to me about either i cant find them or they dont exist.Also about the cave it cant be exited at the same spot where it was entered because on the campaing i played Dar'Khan barried the entrence so Blood Elves couldnt get out and they needed to move forward.Thats the reason about the cave to cant escape on the same spot where entered.If there are any further questions or bugs i need to anwser or fix tell me in the comments.

I agree with Chaosy, there are several mapping tutorials around here, e.g. Advanced terraining tutorial. http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/...ials-278/advanced-terraining-tutorial-203428/ Also, check other tutorials, e.g. Aesthetics. These ones helped me a lot.

Try to place more doodads, especially environmental ones, e.g. rocks and flower. Use the shift key to place them better.
You should check if all of the disabled icons work. Good that you fixed the tooltips. :thumbs_up:

As the cave, unnecessarry things should be removed from the map, which are complicated or leaks in triggers.

And with a minimap image, your map would even look better and attractive for users. To do this, choose an image (about Quel'Thalas), writhe the map's name on it, and save, and then resize it to 128X128, and save it to TGA format. Then import it to your map, and change the path to war3mapPreview.tga . Then save your map, and if you update it, you can see the image. :)

Terrain is clearly one of the bigger flaws here, I suggest putting some effort into that. Maybe check out a terraining tutorial or two.

Or convince someone to do it for you, though those who do terrain 'fulltime' are quite rare, and commonly hard to convince.

I know that terrain is the biggest problem.I still need to work on it.If you didnt downloaded the map and just looked at screenshots the you are right because screenshots are from version 1.00 not from 1.01.Download 1.01 to see the terrain now.

Well it seems that you guys dont want to approve even as much as i try to improve my map.And now even suspicion that map is stolen.I am starting to think that admins on hive are only here to judge for nothing.Whenever i solve a problem in my map you guys just pup up some problem that even dosent exist.And i already told yo that both Kyuubi and Thebig061 are my names on diffrent programs that i use for online gameplay but nothing you still go on with it.I am starting to think that the problem is in you and not in my map.Well it seems that i will need to give up on map editing or just do some other thing instead.When i looked at most ressources such as Vampire Kingdom campaing or andother other map which even have lack of terrain bigger then in mine map i start to wonder how they get their rating.Is it because you guys know that person or something else.So if you can tell me why the fuck you arent approving something mine and you are approving something that i already saw in Hive and it is even worst then mine pls tell me i want to know.

This map is a good idea, because I also do this kind of map, but there seems to be some parts of the terrain is not perfect, such as the nether is relatively simple, and I have a small suggestion, the hero skill set to QWER, it may be more accustomed to the operation. It's best to set up air units, and the car there is a limit, I think Peru needs a better model, I found there is a small BUG, called the Legion of success or at the beginning of the text will appear unlimited summon the Burning Legion when the overall impression is good for me please continue to work hard.:)

I think I have found some problems, can not by Carle Texas Kil'jaeden called the portal, and directly from the nether region can come out, just click on the sun well, I think you can set the Carle Texas summoned to enter, in addition to most branches of the price may not be reasonable, too expensive, recommended to reduce your price

Can you be more clear i didnt quite understaood what you meant.Plus Astral Teleportation or Astral Walk shouldnt be avaible to Kil'Jeaden until he gets out from twisting nether.And you play on chinese so i dont understand the problem correctly.

EDIT:And whats Carle Texas i dont think that Mqeterno added him or it whatever it is.

Ahh then nothing.Must be the other lenguages.Anyway i see the point and i think you dont understand what i wanted to make.In lore Keal'Thas ploted the betraying of Ilidari and Ilidan from the time when he joined them.So if red player or Kiljeaden player take sunwell it realy dosent matter cuz in both cases they will ally.I didnt wanted to make it look like force alliance but more like lore alliance.Also that idea is making premade teams(players who talk on skype and are in one group)go against each other if they play certain races.I do not wish for Blood Elves to be 7v3v1 it would seem unfair so i made a trigger for great split so the game can continue.And soon if i am not occupied with skull too much i would continue working on this project if i am i will give it to mqeterno to continue uploading it if he wants and if he has time.Plus i wish to work on some other projects of mine which i didnt worked on in ages.So if i can release another version of this map untill first november that would be great but if i cant i will give the map to mqeterno to work on it if he can.
