Space Orc Zone Control 1.31

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Space Orc Zone Control is a full new rebuild of the old starcraft zone control maps. It includes at the moment 1 basic unit which is the Space Orc Marine. Later in the game you can upgrade your basic units to Space Orc Snipers, Space Orc Flamethrower and Space Orc Rockethunters.

The target of the game is to destroy the other Players. In the middle of the map is a main zone which calls the center. If you controlled three zones you can take it. (In next versions the player who controlled the center get a bonus for the time he has the position.

You can take new zones with your Space Orc Engineer. You must only take him and go to the middle of a zone to get an new bunker.

Hi everybody...i changed many things in this version. First i redesigned the game map. You will see there are only the zones from the old version. Everything is new. I added Doodads and created new start zones and changed the textures of the map. I think it will be good. But i will hear what you think :)

I added a new unit who calls the Arrrgh Tank. It should give your army a little more power until the Space Orc Biggest Warmachine and Space Orc Flying Deeeath will come in later versions.

New is that you cant upgrade your Troops to another class like sniper or so on. You must research this unit types at your "Troop Center". After that they will spawn every 15 seconds at your bunkers.

Rockethunter have splash damage, snipers the critical hit ability and flamethrowers will burn more enemys at the same time.

The center has no feature at the moment. Will come in later versions.

Please give some feedback , suggestions, critic or ideas.

PS: I added a simple ki for testing the map without human players. You should play with maximum 4 cpu enemies because of lagging.

- Its footmen frenzy with machineguns...
- Fun to play
- A multitude of researches are available to upgrade your troops

Negative
- Not clear how to progress through building levels using the engineer
- As with all FF maps, lag becomes a problem if too many units are on the map at once
- The imported icons in the command facilitiy (where you tell your units what to do) are missing their DISBTN counter-parts
- Only 1 type of unit is available
- Simple terrain (though adequate for this type of game)
- No active AI

Review
A simple but somewhat addicting footmen frenzy map which features un-diverse gameplay, no heroes, and an un-interactive AI. While this map may be below-grade at the moment, it does have the potential to be a great footmen frenzy map if the author would add in some additional unit-types, a computer intelligence, and additional buildings.

@N1ghthawk: There are 4 different unit types. You have one basic unit. This is the Space Orc Marine. Later in the game you can upgrade these marines to Space Orc Snipers, Flamethrower and Rockethunters.:grin:

Hmm... Ideas you say?

Flamethrower equipped orcs: Deal DoT
Sniper equipped orcs: Critical hit chance
Rocket Laucher equipped orcs: Splash damage
Medipack equipped orcs: Able to heal
Spec Orcs: Either mines/demo charges, the ability to go invisible or dodge ability
Biggest Orcs: Simple job as a great big meatshield and possibly the taunt ability
Flying Death Orcs: Able to bomb the ground (use cluster missle or something)

*Centre Bonus Ideas:
Unit: You must claim the middle for a certain amount of time, then a super, special, awesome unit will be spawned there.
Money: You will get increased income as long as you claim the middle.
Nuke: If you claim the middle and have a bit of money (lots) to spend, you can buy a nuke and launch it somewhere.
Aura: General purpose aura. Eg: Increased defense, hp/mp regen, faster attack rate, etc.
Pods: Able to call in some drop pods anywhere for a cost, those pods contain additional units.
Yamata Cannon: Able to cast yamata cannon once in a while (like shockwave).

Hi thanks four your replies. I changed many things in the new version which i releasy in a few days.

First off all you cant upgrade your marines to other units anymore. You must research e.g. RocketHunters or Snipers at your "Troop Center". If you do that every 15 seconds there will spawn this class of type at your bunkers.

Second thing is that i add ki for computer players. Fine tuning come from version to version.

Third i will implement your ideas of getting special abilities to units like criticial hit for snipers and so on.

If this is finished i will look what to do with the center. What do you think is the best center idea ?:grin:

Im stuck between my UNIT idea, NUKE idea and PODS idea. Although mabe some starting unit could have the PODS ability.

Edit: I think you accidently added the splash attack onto the flamethrower space orc and not on the rocket space orc. If that was intentional, its better to have it the way I had suggested.

Yes, an update! So i suggested some ideas for a centre bonus, which one do you think would be good?

Edit: The new map is good, but i want to choose how many CPU I will be playing against. It gets very laggy for me.

Ahh i see i forgot to remove the cpu ! I will add the map without starting cpu. This was only for testing!

I will think about the center if the rest is stable!:) What are you thinking about the different units ? Are they good so or unbalanced ?

Edit: I uploaded the map without the cpu in the player slots. Now you can choose how many cpus you will play against. But i dont know why this will so laggy :-/

Yeah, the units are good.

Edit: What does upgrading armor do?
Edit: The word "available" in the ability that the bunker has that gives you 5 orcs is spelt wrong.
