Slaughter Hills - 7/11/16

As a melee map, its passable by Hive standards; underwhelming by yours.
Compared to what you've made previously, this one has much less detail in the doodads and tile textures, terrain variation and overall attention to making the overall map look like a natural landscape.
That said, I like the overall idea of the map.
The expansion locations are very interesting to say the least, I also like how you chose a very un-orthodox yet symmetrical overall shape.

You have a very keen observation. You know exactly what's missing on the map, things even I didn't recognize.
It was not until I read your review that I looked back at the map and found out the missing pieces. And again I realized
how hard it is to make a standard melee map. Thank you for your advises, and now see what changes have been made!

The center hill has been replaced by cliff, to provide a bit different feeling.

The empty spot has been filled with trees and subtle changes have been made on the textures.

An extra creep zone has been added. This is the most significant change.
The previous version was somewhat lacking creep zones, and now it has become much better.

Very balanced map, fair for every race - there's an orange camp nearby for Night Elves, an orange expansion for Humans, a Goblin Merchant for a Blademaster; if only you could add one or two passive animals near each starting location, so that undead players can use them for early creeping and scouting, that would be perfect.

Visuals are quite standard, yet on point. There's no overuse of doodads or unaesthetic design flaws. Very Blizzard-like.

I can't find any real issues with the map. It's well-made and plays nice. There's not much else that could be said.

PS: Are there two versions of the map? Because right now, I think the summer version is the only possible map to be downloaded.

This map was made particularly weighing on balance. I would gladly place additional creatures.

hello there, nice map, I wanted to look the map and spot somenthing and none, the creeps loot is very good. I have only two sugestions for the map.

I think you have 4 (2 + 2 simetry) mayor areas with a lot of empty space. Lake maps and Island maps with a lot of water, bites game play, in a map that is 128x96 a lot of space can be attended, I makerd this unused areas, you have a goblin lab, so island with goldmine or a hill with goldmine can be attended since you have the zeppelings to reach them. if you wish, I think you can add a couple of goldmines and a couple of fountains/ or marketplaces.

I marked wood that can be relocated to other portions of the map


2) a sugestion is you can work more the enviroment if you wish to.

I think this is a very good map but I somehow I feel the same as mod stated, the game play could be improved giving a use to the no-used/ yellow marked areas, tile sets is very nice doodads can have more work and the map can be more atracttive if you wish.

About the rate I think this is a 4/5 or 4,5/5 map, I don´t give you the 5/5 because I have the feel that this map can be improved, but again as it is, is really nice work.

As for the empty spaces, they were intentional as the map size is tad big. If I fill all spaces then the map would be too big. An additional island will work for a creative map, but I would like to keep this up to standard.

I will seek ways to further improve its aesthetic beauty!
