Skeletal Dragon / Frostwyrm Remake

Hello friends,

this time it's again a skeletal creature. It was 'wished' by @Grimhollow in this Thread.

You can see this as a remake of the original Frostwyrm or simply as a Skeletal Dragon.

- Added another Skeletal Dragon Model
- The Model has Linearized Animations
- The Model has two additional animations called "Spell Throw" and "Spell Throw Alternate". their purpose is to work with Dragonshouts. Such as Soul Reaper.

-->Anyone who can draw or likes to make BTNs/DISBTNs is encouraged to do this with this model.



If you use this model then give credits to me for this idea and @olofmoleman for his model,
but don't distribute him and don't edit him without my or @olofmoleman's permission!?!

The model is great, reminds me of a wyvern tho.

Other matters, Would it be possible for you to make living variations?






Edit: Would be great if you can make living variations, they would be useful in my opinion.

That model really reminds me of the alpha version of the frost wyrm (which would be a bossfight or something):

It would be awesome if you could remake that model. The best part is, it would take but a simple re-wrap, since the texture for it is still in the expansion mpq under the following path:
UI\Glues\MainMenu\MainMenu3d_exp\FrostWyrm.blp

Your latest update has those perfect animations made by @olofmoleman, but with a fraction of the filesize.
Just how? It's gotta be more than "in game textures."

For that alone, this deserves a 5/5
I would LOVE to see a - fleshed out - dragon with the same file size and animations.
Green or red, don't matter. Just, a living dragon.
It would make for some really epic boss fights for many map makers in need (myself included).
 
Wow a really great idea, beats my Frost wyrm to sheet, all i had planned on doing was taking the original frost wyrm cleaning it up a bit and perhaps adding land animations but you went way further and just took the lindenmor dragon and stuffed the frost wyrms mesh directly onto it - that sounds like alot of work even to some one like me - sounds like years of it actually - well done

3 days hey, your a quicky aint ya! LOL well its still super professional looking - my single complaint is the straitness of the arm bones - perhaps youd allow me to look into that lol

Agree, they're really plain, those bones and the torso/tail :C

Well i placed the bones where they could be according to the Lindormr Dragon's form, if you want to make changes then please do so and maybe if i like it, then i will update the model and credit you for it.

I kind of hate animating though. As for the neck. Naturally, you need that arching neck so that it can snap like a whip and bite like a snake. That's the whole reason the type of dragon is named a "Lindorm" in Swedish (Roughly translated as lindsnake). Granted it's lindworm instead in english.

It's not going to come out soon though, I am in the process of working on a goblin biker team model. As soon as that model is done however, sure. I have to contact olofmoleman about it later though.

got it. anyway no need to rush it, just take your time with your work coz as an artist you dont want your art to be like a rushed work right?

I like this model very much.

However, I have questions.
-I want that his regular stance is the one when he is flying, how do I do that?
-Also, in case I want him to have the ability to land (or fly) what ability should I base on to create it?

  1. You set his "animProps" to Stand Alternate. The rest is up to you.
  2. I would probably use the Gargoyle's Stoneform with the Life generation set to 0.

For some reason importing this model to the 1.29.2 editor makes it automatically shut down. It doesn't happen on 1.31.1.
Thing is, I use 1.29.2 until the most annoying issues of 1.31.1 are fixed.

I'm curious why it happens though. Might it be due to a texture path modification, though I doubt it?

EDIT: weird on 1.27 it works too so it might be an issue with 1.29.2...

Strangely enough, I also have 1.29.2, but I tested the model and it is working.

About the warnings, they can mostly be ignored, I am pretty sure I have tested/am using many models with warnings without any problems, but it is up to Mister_Haudrauf if he wants to fix them though.
The ones that are necessary to fix are errors.
EDIT: Huh, the model doesn't appear for me now either...
