Vault Escape

Introduction:

We travel back in time to have a closer look at the younger years of Jaina Proudmoore. It all starts like a normal day for young Jaina. She, like many other mages, loves to feel the pure magical aura of Dalaran City. This aura is captured in a place known as the Vault. The closer you get to it, the more you feel it. What she doesn’t know is that the Vault is actually a place where mages are put to the test. Only a highly skilled mage is allowed to enter and may prove to be worthy. It takes a days to send someone inside without allowing the Vault energy to disturb. Inside, you will face many challenges. Succeed and you will become an archmage.

Jaina already got multiple warnings from her mentor Antonidas to stay away from the Vault. He mentions that this place is unstable an in order to stabilize it, mages need to channel a constant amount of energy into it. Interrupting this ritual could disturb the energies within.

Jaina, who is unaware of the dangers, keeps going to the Vault. One day she goes too far and unleashes part of the Vault energies. This causes Jaina to get sucked into it.

Map information:

This goal of this map to exit the Vault by completing a series of puzzles and mini-games.

4. The terrain looks pretty plain and flat with little tile and doodad variation.
5. I don't think it's necessary to tell the player what happens each time. A sound or colour/animation change of things to just give the hint that something might have happened would be enough.
6. I think returning with the key the classic way would be better since they're just two revenants/corridors.
7. The shimmering portals should face the zone where the path leads to/from them, not always south.
8. There's no danger in the portals zone.
9. The Kobold in the third room is boringly easy. He should also have Slow.
10. What about some of those rats coming the other way around too?
11. I think you might need to set the camera differently in/over the maze so that you won't be able to click on other corridors which may just lead the hero towards the way out.
12. The Golem should follow you as you are breaking the rocks for boulders. The boulders even stack so you can just pile them up in your inventory and then use them all...
13. The other problem with the above is, that the Golem is slow and can be destroyed without the boulders. Also, it returns to its initial spot instead of following the hero constantly.
14. There are long corridors through which you walk without reason. A waste of good space which could be filled with traps and other goodies.
15. Maybe the voidwalkers should die after you reach the gate? Also, they stop a lot.
16. What are gnolls doing in the vault? I guess goblins are explainable since they search for gold and stuff and may get trapped in such a place.
17. Gnolls return to their initial places once the hero outruns them.
18. For some reason, there are bones/decaying bodies as effect around the hero when wearing the Sorceress Mantle.
19. You can't pass to the portals beyond the Crypt Lord because of it and the beetles blocking the way. I guess, you can kill them.

Rather short and not challenging at all (the "hardest" part being dodging the revenants). Most of the time you take long empty walks. There's a ton of unused map space which could have been filled with interesting stuff.
It would have been nice to have some sort of story going on but, well, it's only a premise.
I've not seen any boss fights as the description mentions.
