Millenium RPG v7.06a

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Millenium RPG

Brace yourselves to travel through the mysterious world of Millenium!

General info

Millenium is a role play game map which requires 2 players to be able to start and 6+ people to have possibility for passing it completely. Map has over 15 large locations and 32 champions to pick from, which are spreaded into 3 classes of strength, agility and intelligence. Map has -save/-load system for saving your progress (-asave/-aload for achievements), custom menus for getting abilities and setting options up along with showing different kinds of statistics.

Tips
  • Once you loaded, to pick a new hero you must choose a class icon which opens table with related champions (higher square indicates strength, middle one - agility, bottom blue - intelligence);
    3 champions (1 per class) become available only after getting certain achievements, these heros can't be picked from the very start (their icon are very last on each class table);
  • Every hero has 12 abilities to choose from(except 3 last) but only 8 can be picked at once (use Sphere of Oblivion in case you need to repick it);

  • Leveling and gold comes from quests mainly, which could be taken from NPCs scattered across the locations with exclamation marks above them(complete the quest only if you have met the required level for specific quest, otherwise experience will be lost (F9 to figure it out));

  • There are dungeon and local bosses which provide you with equipment, most of them respawn after several minutes(no limit). Naturally dungeon bosses are harder but in exchange their gear may give additional bonuses;

  • Achievement points grant you possibilities to pick visual stuff like wing or bag skins, some of them allow you to pick special champions (F3 and R to see achievements of any player, -ainfo name of the achievement to see its requirements);
IMPORTANT: Millenium RPG is being developed in 1.26a WE editor, so it has good compatibility on 1.26-1.28.5 patches but on the patches above issues may occur!

NOTE: original author of the map is FinalOFantaZy, translated by JustMe

P.S.: decided to make a post myself after communicating and making an agreement with author. Unfortunately his knowledge of english is in a worse state than mine.

Any permission to translate/edit the map or even upload it?

A credits list is mandatory in the map thread description, not just a link to the resources (Resources in Use by Millenium RPG v7.06c | HIVE). Sounds, music external material should also be credited.

It also has to work on the newest patch versions.

Awaiting Update.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

My English is bad, but if I understood correctly, do I need my permission?
Yes. I allow.

Well, all the development is performed in WE of 1.26 patch as I mentioned in important part of the description, so problems tend to happen on the latest patches.
Talking to compatibility, according to 13th paragraph of map submission rules it's a preference as I understood, but not a must?
Changelog and credit list are going to be added soon once translation is finished, I think no real point of uploading original version(RU) as well, since resource is in english language primarily
Do credits have to have spreaded sections like effects/units etc, or list of authors whose custom stuff was used would be enough?

@Ralle would have to tell you. From what I remember, it's pretty much a must.

Author names are enough but if you want to make it detailed, no one's stopping you :p

We don't want to go back and reject old maps because they don't comply with the rules, and you can update an old map to fix a bug without adding compatibility with a recent version. But it HAS to be a goal to make it compatible and it HAS to be on the roadmap for supported maps.
For new maps it's not acceptable. They MUST support the latest version immediately.

Okay I see now

Millenium RPG has been developing and updating since ~2009 if i'm not wrong, so it's kind of an old map, thats why some misunderstanding happened
For a long time main playerbase of the map was russian community, that was one of the core reasons of why map has been in development in an outdated WE (majority of russian players use 1.26 patch)
Gradually map got popularity among international players and communities, so FinalOFantaZy took that into account and started fixing reported bugs which occur on patches above 1.26
However not all of the bugs were found yet, overall popularity dropped down so in this regard we decided to make a post on likely most popular WC3 site (hence I didn't put changelog, map was uploaded here for the first time)

EDIT: changelog with a credit list will come along the update, if map gets approved after we'll keep updating it here further

Is it restricted to put discord and socialnet group links related to the map in description?

@Ralle So does this mean, if a there is a very complex map made in an editor that is no longer supported (i.e no chance to ever be compatible with newest versions) then, such a map will not be allowed to be approved (if it is an old one, not new)?

You realize reviewers will have to be willing to have multiple Warcraft III versions at once which is quite not something I would do just for this. It's enough I have to keep older stable versions just in case.

There are other ways to share these on the site, either through Pastebin or opening up a thread in Warcraft Discussion

That is allowed.

The map would be considered broken.

The person who worked on the translation no longer does this.
Aww dang, this map is absolutely incredible and youve done an amazing job with it, its just very difficult to play it when i can only read English haha. Ill try to start looking at translations for personal use then, thanks. Is 7.06 the newest English version that is available?

if you like the map, then you can install warcraft 3 (1.26-1.28.5), put Russian fonts and join us in the discord. We will teach you everything :)

map supported last version patch.
Assuming you made this without a 3rd party editor, then your map should still work on the latest patch. You should contact "Des" and tell him he needs to write out all the names of the authors who made the resources your map uses. Right now, he only wrote "Credits: List of Resources". It is not enough to link it, the names must be written out on the map description.

Right now, your map has been put in "Substandard". Most people cannot see it unless they look specifically for it. If you want your map to meet the first requirement the map reviewer requested (written below), then the names must be written on the map description.
All righty. Before I start testing it, the credits list has to be written similar to:

There are more than 1000 files in the map. I have been creating it for over 10 years. I am physically unable to recognize the names of all authors.

The Map works on the latest patch.

The main audience of the map is Russian. The English players asked to create a translation for them and here it is.

A player named Des died a year ago. It doesn't exist anymore.
