Infected

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
infected is a zombie map. You are survivors, and you are trying to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. Find survivors and equipment along the way in hidden locations. HIDDEN. LOCATIONS. They are hidden a lot better after you get out of the city, so keep your eyes open. It is partly inspired by Left 4 Dead, but not completely based off L4D.

Yea you made it in 1 hour? Seems so. Just do not post maps like these on here. They will be rejected and after posting more than one rejected map you quickly start gaining negative reputation that may result in ban at the end.

Well I tested it for 10 seconds. You had really no triggers there.. you just placed units around and tada. Also time elapsed 0.00 is same as map init on events so you could have putted them into a same trigger. And on the beginning some sniper hero with 500 damage had Fire Arrows spells that added +10 damage for the cost of mana.... if you have 500 damage why the hell you would like to get poor +10 dmg? And all of the abilities were default spells and most of them were just passives anyways. Passives -> boring. There was nothing good on terrain either. Just a poor terrain without any doodads, only trees.

You must take into consideration the fact that I was using only the primitive RoC map editor. You can't make custom abilities in RoC. And finding default abilities that don't suck or arent rigged is very hard. and terrain... yeah. I admit I'm not that good at terrain. I'm working on it, though.

you know what... sheep, its good without triggers. and the terrain is fine. boring, but fine. and plus ten is fine, because, say adding hollow points (or the like) is not adding that much damage. and make attack an ability, and have no attack damage, so autoattack is off. hotkeys would suffice.

i agree somewhat with sheep about the ability. If it has to be 10dmg, maybe add some other affect to the ability, like slows the enemy too. (pinning) or headshot (Lowchance-OMGDamage critical strike whil abilities on). A trigger to keep spawning MORE enemies would be nice too. I find that I end up killing them.

BTW I use a RoC map editor. It's not THAT bad. =P

you didn't even bother to rename the spells?

Try creating customizing the spells ingame, give them names like "HE shells" or "fragmentation rounds" etc, import some icons for them, you'll find plenty here.

Also, try adding a fog effect and play around with the map options/properties. It'll do wonder to the atmosphere of your game (IMO atmosphere is above all in any zombie game)

No, it is horibble! Survival map without triggers is not survival, it is melee with lots of creeps around and no base... and it sucks, you know. The terrain... well, nice for begineer but not good enough... And, if I am not mistaken, you can't make new spells withous TFT... Seriously, 500+10 has no logic, why you need it if you have 50 more???

Nekronuke, I understand that you are quite a newbie and have the "Newbie optimism", just like me, when I was newbie too, but I think its time to get some "Realism".

No, it isn't THAT bad, you can get by with it, but TFT editor is 1000 times better. the ability editor, custom skins, and the fact that you can get past level 10 are really useful.

Thanks for the help, guys, maybe if I change "Searing Arrows" to "Carrion Swarm" or something... then maybe add a trigger that spawns another zombie every time you kill one?

That would be a good idea, but you should also change the names to make them relevant to the sniper. I mean a sniper wouldn't really have searing arrows or carrion swarms. Maybe name the carrion swarm something like "Spread Shot" and change the animation to the flak cannon animation. something very simple. Although the map needs ALOT more work, it's a start. Good luck

Like I've already said before, I can't edit spells in a RoC map.

And I just thought of something, if every time you kill a zombie a new one appears, then you'll probably get too powerful too fast. And also, the map is more of a zombie RPG, so what would really be the point? The map doesn't involve a lot of backtracking, so why add zombies to a place you'll never go again?

WEll I guess you shuld probably get frozen throne. As for the zombie respawn trigger, for my map I already used it, works just fine. But what I did was after a certain number of Zombie kills, the zombies that respawn are stronger. Well, my map is too harsh to begin with for players, but yours seems balanced enough at first. I suggest you keep the zombie spawn trigger but make them spawn randomly on the map and add a condition if your hero's level is above __ then the zombies that spawn are tougher (basically just make new zombie units)
