tabtabGlideon is a unique racing map that can be played by up to 6 players. You are supposed not only to race and be the first, but you are also battling with others in the race by using numerous items and weapons available along the circuits. You will likely have to race upon slippery tracks which would bring you even more challenges to keep your rate stable. This map provides several circuits which are designed very carefully to have their own difficulties and specialities and give you different hurdles.

tabtabGlideon is the only complete racing map as well as being one of the most advanced map there is in Warcraft III universe. It has an incredibly unique game play, a solid combination between sliding, racing, and RPG elements. You won't find such game play easily even thereout the Warcraft III universe. Not only being the most complete racing map here, this map is also fulfilled with numerous additional contents which promises to keep you entertained for a good while. Such as intense in-race combat; thoughtful multi-level AI, makes this map fully playable in both singleplayer and multiplayer mode; RPG-like attribute and gear system, which allows you to improve your slider furthermore; a save/load system which allows you to save your progress which can be loaded in another game; and tons more.

tabtabAt first, players will be taken to the lobby, they may discuss everything here using the chat: whether is it about lap counts, the circuit, and other options. Players are able to do multiple things here, like selecting the racers, assigning attribute points, buying items and gears, saving progress, etc. After everyone is ready, the host may start the race.

tabtabBefore the race, there will be played a short intro cinematic that will hover you around the circuit to give you sightings about the track. However, there is a minimap at bottom left part of your screen to help you observing the track directions and your and others' positions.

tabtabAfter the cinematic, the race will soon begin. Players can control their racers using arrow keys (up: accelerate forward, down: accelerate backward, right: turn right, left: turn left). Players will also have some basic abilities to help them in the race: boost, jump, brake, convert life and use item ability.

tabtabThe race won't be so easy for everyone, as they will struggle to deal with slippery grounds. There will be available some items which can be used for your advantages, the detailed description about these items will be available below in the content part. Every item is very unique and need different usage strategy. There are traps to slow down opponents, weapons to harm opponents, protection items to protect yourself, etc.

tabtabThere is a status board at the top right part of your screen to help you to observe both your statuses and other racers' positions. The board will keep track of some records: lap time and best time of each player. And it will personally display your statistics: speed, life, defense gauge, current lap, and time record on the current lap.

tabtabEvery player has two extra statuses called defense gauge and life. Defense gauge displays your immunity against harmful buff (freeze, stun, paralysis, etc.). The lower your gauge is, the worse effect you will take from those destructive forces. There is an ability to convert one life to fully recovers your defense gauge. If you think you have plenty of lives and you are out of gauge, this ability will be your best advantage. While life is something you need to maintain carefully, you will lost your life if you are knocked out of the circuit. If you are out of life, you will be eliminated from the current race. However, there is small chance that you will obtain extra life item from boxes.

tabtabIf you are out of live, you will be eliminated. After being eliminated, you may enter spectator mode. Here you can spectate the other sliders. You can move between sliders by pressing up/down arrow, and rotate the camera by pressing left/right arrow. You will be in this mode until the race is over. You will also enter spectator mode after you passed the finish line.

tabtabIf you win the race, you will obtain medals as reward. The rewards are only given to the first, second, and third rank, or to the last surviving racer. The amount of gained medals depends on how many laps you have passed. You can use this medals to purchase items and gears in the shop as well as spending them for more attribute points to improve your slider furthermore.

tabtabThis game is supported with highly-scripted AI. They are quite crafty in using items and abilities. There are three levels of them: easy, normal, and insane. Higher level AI will have more attribute bonuses. Easy AI is meant for new players. If you are still learning the control and still adapt yourself to the game, this level will serve you as a good training mate. If you feel you are getting used to this game already, Normal AI may fits you the best. But if you think you are good at this part, Insane AI will give you some worth-while challenges.

tabtabLobby is the place to discuss everything about the next race (circuit, laps, lifes, and time) while waiting for other players to prepare theirselves (selecting racer, assigning attributes, purchasing gears and items). You can see the status of every player here. Host can manage to start the race once all players are in "ready" state.

Attribute and gear system
tabtabThis racing game brings you a semi-Role Playing experience. You can assign some points to your attributes to improve your character's performance. You can buy attribute point in the shop costs 5 medals for 1 point, while medals can be obtained by winning races. You can also buy some gears that can give your racer special effects (turn rate, bonus defense gauge, and bonus speed).

Unique racing experience
tabtabThis game has a very unique racing gameplay. Unlike common racing games, here you will race by foot and upon slippery grounds. You need to chose your track wisely, keep your speed stable, and keep the best performance as possible, to win the race. Not only that, you will also have to fight with other players using items and weapons to harm your opponents or for your advantage. Those item can be obtained by hitting boxes around the circuit. While the boxes will be respawned after 5 seconds.

Customizable race options
These options can be accessed in the lobby only by host.
  • Circuits
    The circuit that will be played on the next race. Currently there are:
    • Crystal Cavern
    • Dragon Stepway
  • Lifes
    The default life cap for every player for the next race.
  • Laps
    Number of laps which should be done by every player to win the next race. Number of laps will affect reward give to the winners.
  • Time
    Time of day when the race will be started. There are day, dusk, nigh, and dawn. This doesn't affect anything, only give visual effect.

tabtabMedia Install is a special feature of this game. You can improve the visual quality of the game by installing it in your Warcraft III directory. Without this, you will automatically play the basic version, where everything (textures, images, sounds, etc.) are highly compressed. If you aren't satisfied with it, I recommend you to download and install this:
  • Download Media Install below.
  • Unzip the file and move it to your Warcraft III directory.
  • Do not modify the folder in any case.
  • Now you need to enable local file:
    • If you have JNGP, go to Extension > check mark "Enable local files".
    • If not, you can learn how to enable local files by following this tutorial: LINK.
  • MediaInstall has been installed.

Force ShieldProtects the slider from harmful forces. However, some damages will still come in if the protection is overpowered.

-laps would be nice to not only be counted in even numbers but also odd
-daytime; why isn't there a cycling option to include all?
-shouldn't going backwards with the left or right direction make the unit go with its back in that direction like a car instead of the opposed one?

Again, I am so impressed with what you can do with warcraft.
The music in the game lobby? What the hell? Did you hack blizzard or something?

You always find ways of doing what no one else have before, and that is simply amazing.

Even though the all around work on this map is as outstanding as coconut party, the control of your character was not so good. It was super hard to control him properly.
The small delay on the arrow keys in a map that relies so heavily on movement is a big flaw, but there is nothing you can do about this, I guess. Because if you could, you would have done it already.
Also, the sliding on the slopes is sometimes a little too strong. I'd think that reducing gravity be a little would be in place, but that is, of course, entirely up to you.

In short:
Amazing map that requires some time and effort to learn how to play correctly. Apart from that, it is not flawed in any way and is clearly fit for approval.

Haha.. Thank you for playing it!
But an update will very unlikely to happen. One day I created a program which accidentally wiped out my Warcraft 3 folder without any trace, including the unprotected version of this map. So, yeah it's gone. :(
you can call help? post a petition somebuddy unproted the map, is a good map this map need a update and probably different versions of terrain.
