Gladiator's Arena Bloodbath

Map Info:

Two Gladiator factions face off in this bloody arena where the ultimate goal is to defeat the arena director itself, dont be fooled tho his gladiators and champions are stronger than u can imagine you will need the help of your team to get to the last rounds and to kill the director.

Features:

- Many custom items ( more to come in new versions )
- Custom heros with abilities
- Rank up system, get to lvl 10 to achieve next rank and gain more power
- Arena system FFA and TvT(TvT disabled untill next version)
- Evolving director gladiator and monsters will allways keep the game challenging and harder the longer the game goes on.
- Hardcore boss battles

Usefull info:

- Each team has 150 lifes but with -no lifes mode you can set the goal to be kill the director
- Able to play the director and battle versus the gladiators(not recomended)
- The arena levels when the players are able to clear it completely, so if the director unit count on the arena reaches 0 you enter the next level(max level is 30) the director comes after the last level up.

This Arena is made to have fun, bring your friends play vs or with them and try to kill the director.

-Arena terrain updated
-Added some traps around the arena
-Item types added, you can only carry 1 weapon 1 gloves 1 boots etc.
-Added a stash for all players
-Balanced warrior, berzerker and rogue because they were destroying people with no chance for counterplay
-Nerfd undead death coil (1 shotting)

Gladiator Arena Bloodbath v1.6r

In-game: 1.5/5

- Please add a quest log with some general map infos and proper credits

- If hero teleports you should also move the cam, not only the hero

- Spells are a way too normal, you could use some fresh custom spells

- Start with shops seems a bit messy

- Why swordman has upgraded attack/defense and sorceress does not?

- Difficulty doesnt seem to be in realation with amount of players, I tested solo and died very fast (I cheated to survive)

- Always the same creeps: Swordsman and sorceress. Thats way too boring

- Add more special features in arena

Triggers: 2/5

I don't know where to start here. The only positive I can say here, that I had no fatal error or something similir.

You have extreme memory leaks, please fix them or it might face rejection only because of this... quote by map submission rules:
The triggering needs to be efficient and mostly leakless.
(In my signature there is a link to a tutorial how to clean memory leaks)

There are too many points I could mention here, so here is a link to a general GUI-tutorial. It might help you a lot if you carefully read it.

You put much effort into it and most of it works so I give you 2 points here, but with all these memory leaks and not efficient triggering it's lacking.

Terrain: 2/5

-style is fitting to a gladitor arena

- lack of tile variation, add some more here

- not much doodads included, take usage of only some of these tonnes of variety

- most can be some smarter and better looking with more work

Gameplay. The Gameplay is not that bad but still can be considered. I like the way you can upgrade your rank. But most of the spells is not MUI. Making some nice spells will make it better because it's an arena map. It will be quite boring if you just put some random spells that is not MUI. And the tips. I like the way you put some in-game tips but put some tips too in the quest log so the players will know what is their purpose or what will they do on the game
Terrain. The terrain is quite empty. Try to put some nice doodads in there. In the arena, Only dirt? Try to put some rough dirt there or grass to make it better. I know that you want to make it fit with an arena but it doesn't look good if you don't put some nice doodads and tile paths. I like the way too you put some height in there and thats the reason it makes the terrain better.
Suggestions
Try to put some nice doodads and nice tiles that fits in the arena.
Put some tips in the quest log.
Make some nice spells with ncie effects.

I have played your map and I am here as a moderator to review your map and decide it's fate.

This map looks common of an arena map. Nothing much unique to expect in; simply hack n slash through enemies to level up and fight with other heroes. But the evolution phases does make this quite decent but truth be told, I expected much more unique stuffs.

The terrain layout of the whole map looks bad. The arena has no tile variations and simply dirt and it lacks ground variations as well. It is also indeed empty and needs some doodads and destructibles in it. This really needs some attention from you but you somehow captured the Gladiator Arena terrain. I would suggest you to give your time at the terrain, feel free to use resources here in Hive that would be of use in your terrain just don't forget to credit them.

There are lots of heroes to choose from and lots of evolutions as well but sad to say, each hero features standard spells which is quite boring. I suggest you to add something into the spells by at least changing their names (some spells has a bad way of naming spells), giving them proper descriptions that is much better than Blizzard and make most of the abilities scale on attributes to add some unique touches in the spells or simply, make your own custom and unique spell.

The map features alot of items and is indeed useful but they can be all bought by simply saving up enough money. It would be better if you are to add some item recipes or maybe upgradable items which can be acquired by buying the same item.

Overall, it's fun but it needs much more improvements to be on an acceptable level. Start with improving the terrain by a great amount, fix the way you name some spells and possible make unique spells instead of standard blizzard spells, and do not make all items buyable through simply having the enough money but also through item recipes, upgrades and such...

Rated 2/5 and Awaiting Update.

i do agree with the reviews but as you may have noticed by the trigers i am not that great, and doing spells create tons of buggs, creating an advanced spell in MUI is hard and if it involves special efects even worse.
Ill try to improve starting off with arena terrain, shops and some doodads and destructibles.

Is this the whole changelog since the last 3 reviews? If yes, you maybe should read them again.
 
Terrain: I think an arena's terrain should be flat. That's what real arena is, don't listen to them (if it's like real arena). ThBe rest looks OK, looks like real ancient arena. Better use sand instead of dirt.
Triggers: You don't remove leaks. You should remove groups, locations,effects etc when you no longer need them. Check THIS. Why are your triggers not properly named? You don't have a sense of order? Just for the reviewers. also DON'T USE WAITS
Gameplay: Shouldn't there be stages,modes, difficulty and events of gameplay? What are these footmen and sorceress that walk in chaos on the arena and fight you, shouldn't you fight max 6v6? Is this your AI? Why don't you work on putting AI? I see that here you fight bosses, good, just the gameplay really looks chaos to me.
Also I think you should work on the spell. Put fitting spells and make their tooltips and positions nice. You can use coloring and etc just to make the game attractive.

At this state I think this map still is awaiting update

You better get serious with this map before updating it again.

I've been waiting for an update to come by, yet its been months now so here's some of my concerns regarding the map:

-Every hero I play lacks its character build and balance to its performance, it would be wiser if a shaman relies more into healing-enchant rather than acting like a hunter and so fort

-Every item is way too expensive, I haven't tried playing this against players but if this has a feature that drops your gold via xxx after xxx death this can be problematic

-the arena looks like it was bombarded roughly, remember every coliseum is flat and has minimum uniform color, unless you might want to add some rocks, broken doodads etc.

-the creeps or the Imperial Dictator's forces are randomly running across the arena and keeps spawning too much, because of this a serious lag might come in so its better if there should be a trigger counting a limited amount of creeps in play, if it gets lessen a creep group should start spawning via xxx seconds

-lastly, about those creeps it would be better if they are on the neutral hostile group while the dictator can send its own forces via mercenary camp or its own unit factory to prevent boredom for a player that will play huge amounts of time after.

Overall, this map needs more rework than actual update.

EDIT: also you have no quest menu explaining important stuff of the game, terrain is a bit lacking.
