Review: Great execution of a wow concept in to a warcraft 3 mode. Anyhow, a few things are lacking: - Several attachment points are missing, including chest and weapon, as well as a duplicate one of the origin one. - At the end of the normal morph...

Not bad. A nice alternative to the in-game Doomguards* which look a little janky compared to the Frozen Throne demons.

*Technically, the plural for Doomguard is just "Doomguard." Something about the grammar rules of certain plural nouns.

Great variations! Very nicely made, the animations from wow are fit nicely. And I like the overall mesh, it's bulky enough and it fits great in game.

A little flaw I found is on his back, besides the tail, some parts of the mesh are not visible because the faces are made in wrong direction, but setting the material of spellbreaker texture to twosided will fix it.

Thanks to everyone.

I don't know why this happened, the files wich I uploaded are set correctly.
I thought it was a model viewer's bug but when I downloaded it, it still remains wrong. However I opened it in MDLVIS and when I clicked that part, it fixed by itself.

Considering the fact you are working in the Mdlvis it isn't strange to me that this happens. I had the same problems earlier when I try to copy one part of the mesh and paste it on the other side it became invisible because of the wrong direction of faces. But nice to hear you've fixed it. :)

That's my intention, making models very similar to WoW rips. :)
The color scheme of the in game textures is very different from the HD stuff from WoW. So, I like to make models with this 'vanilla' stuff because It can be challenging and I enjoy the results. ;)

yes, but that.. at least to me, makes them.. inadequate.. they are really missing some exaggeration in some way.. I presume you don't want to oversize pauldrons or weapons, but you could manually tweak each animation's speed in matrix eater, and thus make them fiercer looking, or at least faster.

..I'm kinda annoyed by these models that really look like re-wrapped WoW rips.. and while I know they're all hand-crafted, it still bugs me.. They're lacking something that regular war3 models have.. now if that is mesh exaggeration, themed texture, or the quick and not flaunting animations, i don't know..

You sound envious, Misha ;P

naa, go and see my models :b i got some neat things too. what i really wanted to convey is that they need tweaking at least to behave fiercer than right now.. but i doubt that'll be so..

cmon I know and love your models and you've seen me comment on them c;

but I know it's so wow-like but it really fits in the wc3 theme cuz it's technically still warcraft. I'm just trying to figure out if the animations are from WoW or from the WC3 doomguard

Am i the only one here who think this Doomguard is cute? :p
I remember in 2002 when i was a kid, every time i click on the Warcraft3 doomguard and see his portrait i go 'damn he's ugly af' but this one looks cute lol :p
Anyway great model, i really liked the Eredar Witch and the Jailer's models cuz they seemed like warcraft 3 made models and i generally don't like wow models but having these kind of models really enhances the variety of demonic units.
I think this can also be used as an elite doomguard if anyone decided to keep warcraft3's doomguard model.
Good job.

10/5 even I prefer old god minions than Legion forces. This creation is a golden piece of art. Very useful to mappers indeed.

Keep rolling this all up, you are doing very good work. I presume you will make such:
- Imp Mother
- Imp
- Abyssal
- Infernal (A polished remake is magnificent)
- Felhound
- Totrezim

You may want to skin up old doomguard in-game model so it looks fresh and reused but addictive.

I've been begging him to make the Imp Mother for months now. Just gotta cross our fingers and wait and see.

Review: Great execution of a wow concept in to a warcraft 3 mode. Anyhow, a few things are lacking:

- Several attachment points are missing, including chest and weapon, as well as a duplicate one of the origin one.

- At the end of the normal morph animation, there is a sequence where he "lands again", which makes him land in the air when morphing into an aerial unit and which bugs the morph animation.

- You need to add flying decay animations, even if there is nothing to be seen in them, because otherwise, after exploding, the game will utilise the other animations, spawning a body and skeleton where there shouldn't be one.

I think that's all for now. Until fixes are made: Awaiting update.

Man i wish i was interested in the Vanilla Doom Guard model because it has the tentacles in front of the Demon's head i believe. I sometimes like both Vanilla and WoD/Legion Doom Guards much. -o-
