Battle in the Frozen Lands
Description:
This is an Item & Ability based AoS map for Warcraft III The Frozen Throne, it is still in beta so you can expect some bugs...

This map was inspired by other AoS maps i have played (DotA, AotZ, SMotA) so you may see some similitudes.

There are currently 22 heroes, 56 (+27 from recipes) items, and 11 pets.

Story:
I actually don't have a story line... it is supposed that the Human Alliance is trying to gain control over more territory to increase its strength, this means pushing the Elven Forces away, but the Elven Forces won't give them an easy battle for their territory in the frozen lands....

Features:
  • Fully functional Anti-Backdoor system: When there are no enemy creeps (dead or alive) near a vital structure (lane tower/barrack), it will gain +9999 armor, +100% magic resistance, spell immunity, and +1 hp every time it is attacked (since even with 9999 armor it takes 1 dmg as minimum on every attack)
  • 22 custom heroes with 6 custom abilities each one
  • Automated "Ultimate" & "Ultra" abilities: the Ultimate is learned at level 10 and upgraded at level 20, the Ultra is learned at level 25
  • 56 (+27 from recipes) custom items
  • Shops with one kind of items each one (Stats-Wards-Recipes-Auras-Armors&Weapons-Misc-Pets)
  • Easy to-do recipe-items with shop name for the needed items
  • 11 pets, each one with its own way to aid in battle (destroying towers, taking damage, spying upon enemy territory, carrying items for you, etc...)
  • Working TP system on lane towers and fountain
  • Multiboard that shows players scores
  • Game timer in minutes (placed in the wood section)
  • Soul system (modified idea from the "Spirit" on SMotA)
  • All creep spawns have at least one passive upgradeable ability
  • Gold compensation for if you didn't kill a hero (global) or creep (1500 range)
  • Upgradeable creeps with a reasonable cost and cooldown

*Increased the duration of the Deathlord from the "Deathlord Crown" item (20->30 seconds)

Game changes:
*Added a new game mode: Quick Match (-qm) -> Adds 10,000 gold to each team, and sets the level of all heroes to 25 after 125 seconds of game time
*Added 2 new player commands:
->Regeneration (-reg #) -> Shows the selected player's hero regeneration
->Attack Speed (-as #) -> Shows the selected player's hero attack speed (attacks per second)
*Added 3 new upgrades for regular creeps:
->Vitality Upgrade - +5 hp & +0.1 hp regeneration (Added a minimal hp regeneration rate to regular creeps (0->0.05) for this to work)
->Speed Upgrade - +3 ms & +1% ias
->Spellcaster Upgrade - +10 attack range, +5 mana & +0.05 mana regeneration
*Upgrade buttons rearranged because of these additions
*Increased the % and area of the knight upgradeable ability by 5 (10% & +10aoe -> 15% & +15aoe)
*Increased the % increase of the melee upgrade by 1 (2%bash->3%)
*Increased the % increase of the ranged upgrade by 1 (4%critical->5%)
*Now the neutral creeps are also removed when the game "finishes"
*Increased the compensation gold for some creep spawns:
->Footman/Swordsman: 2 gold
->Rifleman/archer: 1 gold
->Priest: 1 gold
->Wizard/Sorceress: 5 gold

*Changed the Hero XP gained from hero kills (100/120/160/220/300/400/500/... -> 50+50xHeroLevel)

Heroes:
*Increased the size of "Razormane Chieftain" a little bit
*Removed the stat bonus to "Adrenaline Burst" from "Razormane Chieftain", added an attack speed bonus instead whenever it kills something
*Nerfed the "Endurance Aura" from "Razormane Chieftain" (AS/MS[5-10-15-20-25/2-4-6-8-10 -> 4-8-12-16-20/1.5(1)-3-4.5(4)-6-7.5(7)])
*Fixed a bug that caused the "Skeletal Rise" ability from "Necromancer" to spawn the "Frozen Skeletal Archers" above dead heroes too
*Added a 10 seconds cooldown to "Essence Transfusion" from "Necromancer"
*Fixed the Wolf Rider Ultimate Text and added a lifesteal bonus to it
*Nerfed the "Windcaller's" Ultimate
*"Sharp Wind" from "Windcaller" now affects allied structures and can damage ranged enemy units

*Changed the name of "Frost Wyrm Skull Shield" for "Skull Shield"
*Reduced the attack speed bonus from "Hastiness Aura" of the "Relic of Haste" item (20 -> 10)
*Fixed the gold cost of "Relic of Haste" (when completed the recipe, the item worthed only 200 gold instead of the 2000 gold it should be [500+500+1000])

*Reduced the collision size of all spawns a little bit
*Changed the text that appears when towers are destroyed to have color
*Changed the text when a hero suicides (x has killed himself -> x has committed suicide)
*Fixed a small bug with the "A(n) x tower has been destroyed" message on the last defense towers (cannon & arcane)
*Fixed a bug with the reviving unit of the -revive command that allowed the player to revive the hero even with 0 gold
*Removed the mana from "Deathlord" (summon of "Deathlord Crown" item)

Heroes:
*Changed Night Elf Ranger "Elune's Cloak" ability name for "Night Veil"
*Scaled Gryphon Rider "Storm Hammer" ability to have cooldowns 20/19/18/17/16
*Fixed 2 small bugs of Purist: wrong buff of lvl 5 "Holy Protection" spell & the "Shadow Essence" item triggering the "Guardian Angel" ability
*Reduced the chance of "Guardian Angel" from 15% to 12%
*Added a lvl 5 "Fire Control" ability effect (visual) to Fire Master
*Increased the slow percent of "Slow Poison" from Tree of Life to 4/8/12/16/20 and added that info in the ability tooltip
*Changed the Necromancer name to be different from the Windcaller name
*Changed the attack range of Elven Tank 150->175; Windcaller 600->500; and Purist 600->650
*Increaed the duration of "Lightning Ball" of Gryphon Rider
*Increased the AoE of "Pulse" from Fel Orc Champion (500->1000) but reduced its slow effect (35/70->25/50)

Well this is my first map, i have tested it a lot of times with some friends, fixed some things but cant fix others or just need more time to fix them...

My main laguaje isn't English so dont expect "perfect" English in the map info and tooltips.

This map is "protected" (optimized) for more speed and less size, if you want to download the "unprotected" go here (open from 0.01 and forward, abc...kmnop versions are the "prebeta" and even more buggy versions xD). It can be edited with regular WE, only basic GUI triggers used, if you change/edit the map just add the "credits" on the info...

I think i need to write better the description showing what the map actually has...

And... didn't you have any problems while playing?

O.K., So this game needs a lot of work (Well It's 0.01 So It's Understandable).

Some of the Things You Should Fix or Add

1) The Description on the Loading Screen is too long, it doesn't fit
2) Add a REAL Description to the Heroes, The Name doesn't really help people choose
3) The Terrain is Kinda Weird, and whats with the dalaran towers?
4) Before you start the map, there's no picture on the Box, there's Just a question mark, add a picture.
5) It would be more helpful if you could move the camera/screen to the Taverns after the mode is chosen (this makes it easier for new players)
6) Put the Taverns together, It makes the map more user-friendly

Tnx for the feedback.

1) I changed the description on the loading screen, i hope it fits your screen now... (the last one fits my screen, but i just don't know how it looks like on other computers).

2) Added some information on the hero tooltips, im not good making those stories that other AoS'es have for each hero.

3) I'm not good making terrains, my friend arthaswar made it, and for me it looks good, i don't like maps being too "symetrical" (i know it's just a game but...) since battlefields are never symetrical for all the "teams" to be a fair war/battle.
Anyways, looks like the creeps push similarly on both teams.

4) Added a picture

5 & 6) I think i'll leave the taverns where they are, and i think that 1 minute pinging its enough for players to at least notice something on the minimap.

Tnx for the approval o_O

I updated it and now the protected version "weights" less now (around 200 kb less) but the unprotected weights a little bit more :grin:, looking forward to add more heroes and items for the next version...
The changelog for the latest version is there, and of course the unprotected maps are in my site at the dl section (or http://getbitfl.tk/).

You can suggest stuff for the map if you want, but just don't expect everything to be added and fast...
 
The time and effort put into this map is quite nice. The terrain is, well good for an AoS but I think it'd be lacking compared to a different style of map. The execution put into this (the big hero selection and the item recipes) is refreshing.
WHY, why would anyone with such a good mapping talent make another AoS. Don't you see we have enough of them?!? I mean CMON make a rpg or something! I think I've said enough ;s
