Astral's RPG

Ok, i have made some changes, and this is what came map is extended more quests and items are added,more recepies and patterns to current proffesions, more nice terrains.
I feel like i have to explain some things i have not change like drop rate i have even reduced it cuz normal creeps (ones you meet in forest and....) have no chance of droping any better item than materials or quest items.There are 2 diferent professions i will have to repeat Leatherworking and Alchemy wolfs,bears,murlocks,stonetusks and other mobs will drop leather;your other hero (you will meet her when you are done with first quest zone) has alchemy skill that alows her to pick herbs around in forest there are 3 diferent herbs on many places 1 is extremly rare and hard to find,others are used for oils which are needed by leatherworker in cause of making imba gear that increases status,attack damage,attack and movement speed,as well as spell bonus.Your heroes will have only 2 normal abilities with 3 lvls each,but your main hero beside these abilities can lvl up in 3 ways of talents
1) Strength -> Increases his tanking abilities, like armor, health, regeneration rate, or on higher lvls strenght gives stun, taunt and roar abilities last talent in strength is called raging mind and returns mana on hit.
2) Combat -> increases your combat skills, critcal rating, agility which will increase your damage as well,gives bonus on storm strike ability and you will see what else. :)
3) Wisdom -> provides various blessing of nature to hero,last talent in wisdom is completed it increases chance to root enemy with earth shock by 35% and provides briliance aura.
Your main hero has 2 abilities:
1) Storm strike -> Target enemy will recive debuff that increases all spell damage done to that target by additional intelect of spell casting unit so main hero's int is counting only if he is casting earth shock.
2) Earth shock -> Deal some damage to target unit and has 10% chance to root him in place. ( i have used shamanyouranus's earthshock model and im thankfull)
Your second hero has 2 abilities:
1)Spirit of nature -> its like regrowth in wow just this one is instant casted,heals friendly unit for 200/300/400 and 30/45/75 every 3 seconds for next 15/21/28 seconds. !Spell can be used on several units in same time buff duration is only limmit. xD
2)Spirit of fire -> Increases friendly target damage done by 20% and lasts 60 seconds, has very nice spell effect (one of my best spell efects) also instant cast.



Your new companian has 3 abilities :
1) Pull enemy unit to him self and taunt it, also stun and deal some damage.
2) Silence - area
3) Chance on hit: Summon greater spirit of light who will summon 3 lesser ones, each spirit deals 150 damage bolt of light to attacked unit, bolts will take spell bonus from guardian items.


When you kill boss in corrupted temple of storms, you will be able to take quest that wil lead you to south sea.When you arrive to village there you will find trainer who will teach spirit - caller to cast Gift of nature.
This spell will damage all enemy units in 350 range from spirit caller, and will heal all nearby enemy units by 1200 + spell power over 15 seconds, i have used wildgrowth effect model Created by Champara Bros. (Spell owns, i think ill place it in my spell pack im making.

Remember to use silence on Infernal boss constantly 'cuz he will spam armagedon and avatar spells and youll be dead in few seconds. xD

I have reduced some bosses and mobs health and attack damage so it should be much easier now.Bugs are fixed mostly.

To remind you dry rock you will be able to take after you step on 4 switches ! (1 is behind infernal boss, 2 are on northern bottom edge of big mountain (place where you find guardian), 1 is next to guardian) it should be easy.

I tought you have forgot about my map :) thats why i have reupdated it, but unfortunately nothing is changed in there since i dont know how to unprotect it :( curses on these who invented map protecting stuff ! :)

If anyone pls can unprotect it and send to [email protected] i would continue this work and after centaurs, and i could check all triggers again to see what bugs are hidden there.

O i forgot to say every time when spirit of nature ticks floating text will show ammount healed, and if casting hero has some of items that increases spellpower ammount healed will be increased and you will see that floating text is changed same will happen to spells that damages units, every time you cast spell there you will be informed of your damage done to that target, each item that increases spell power has unique spell power effect so dont stack it and if you have 2 of a kind share it with your second hero.Yep that would be all for now im goin to sleep.

Nah its not done yet, i have found some big bugs by my self and fixed them, at this moment im making spells for new companion he is last who survived slaughter in corrupted temple of storms, also now im finishing last few quests and making secret entrance to temple of storm ill make it imba hard to find out how to enter xD

Well, my review:
-You can go through the troll's caves...
-"Wolf's light hide" disbtn icon doesn't work
-I don't like the fact that wolfs (and other neutral units i think) revive if you are near their corpse, too
-I died in a point, and then I revived in an unknow place (near the cleric), and I cannot go out of the "village" lol...

Review

[+] Terrain: Non Blizzard Cliff tiles. Imported doodads used ok.
[+] Professions: Its good to see that you added Professions
[+] RPG: RPG's are usually good games and i say this is a good game
[-] Not Finished: Its not finished but when you finish it you will get a higher rating
[-] Creeps: The starting creeps are too strong, get some ideas from WoW
Review: Astral, its good to see that your map doesnt use Cliff tiles because they are ugly and very fustrating to work with in making a map.
You also have imported doodads means that you know what you are doing, trust i've seen maps that are cliff and no doodads...
Professions are a great resource in the game, it adds more then just killing creeps and doing quest.
RPG's can be the funest games, 'can' doesnt mean all the time, but it looks like this one is going to succeed.
Its really a shame this map isnt finished, but when it is... Its going to be good, theres one big bug bear... The starting creeps are too strong, i kept dying...

I think i have finished everything for first part of map, when last quest is completed witch will open portal for you and you and your companions will enter other part of map that isnt created yet, for now ill be working only on bugs and improving proffessions.
And i hope you will have fun playing this map.

Mehh, I reject it unitl updated...

Before updating the map, you should:
  • Fix all tooltips and names (some names are too long, most tooltips are crap).
  • Make the bear-quest unbuggable (you could receive infinite awards, so I was level 50 in no-time).
  • Fix the alchemy (I had 30 green mushrooms and 22 silver leafs, I combined them to green oil and lost everything, while I only needed 20 leafs and 10 mushrooms).
  • Where the hell is that dry rock?

When you step on all switches, dry rock will appear on ruined temple.Its on a hill under big mountain where you found guardian companion.Actualy i havent made special item called dry rock i just used one blizzard campain item, without changing its text but it shouldnt be hard to find out what it is when quest tells you where you should expect one, i will update map once i fix all bugs, and expand map.

Story:-, i don't even know if there is a story, so i'll just leave this blank.

Quests:2/5, well first of all, the quest dialogues are very, very bad. I was walking around and suddenly someone says "Kill 3 young wolves! I will give you a nice reward.", a better quest receive system could have been used, for example a cinematic or at least 2 buttons, saying "Accept" or "deny". This is just not acceptable.

Combat:-, combat will not be rated.

Sounds/effects/skills/Models/Skins:2/5, There aren't a lot of custom models, but it's a single player rpg, so i guess there could have been more. And the storm strike ability or whatever it's called, doesn't even have an effect, nothing. The game is very "empty", you just suddenly get a quest from someone, who tells you to kill X wolves for example. And if i'm not wrong, there aren't any systems in the game, which every rpg usually has, at least 1 or 2. For example an attack system or custom hero selection, so you can choose between classes and not just get a shaman. I could go on listing other issues, but what i would suggest is learning advanced gui or jass(there are a lot of tutorials, which are very helpful), so that you can make a small system or a small cinematic. I would highly suggest, you play some of the other rpgs that are uploaded in the hive, to get some ideas etc.

Terrain:3/5, the terrain was well made, but there are some areas that could use some improvements.

Gameplay/Fun factor2/5, well there is no cinematic in the beginning or anything, there's just an orc shaman hero in the middle of a forest, without any info on the map or story.

Bugs/Hive Description factorN/A, the hive description is acceptable. But you should use some colors and make the titles bold.

Overall:9/20, well i don't have anything else to say, just read all the 4 most important things i mentioned above and you will be able to improve your rpg.

Yeah, I did that... I got some kind of Gemstone instead, which would probably be the standard blizzard quest item you're talking about.

I think this actually really good rpg and i liked playing it. Love the terrain and that you made professions. But the negative stuff is at creeps. They respawn too fast and some are far too powerful *cough*firelord*cough*

Yes that boss is hard for his lvl but, if i remember good when quest leads you to him you should be having spiritualist companion with you who can cast heals and imbue your attacks with fire, then fight should be easy.
You shouldnt make haste with quests to get to one you cannot complete, there is leatherworking profession make try buying patterns and make all items in mean while your level will be higher and you will have stronger abilities and talents.

I ask again, if there is anyone who can unprotect map for me now i am much advanced mapper then time i was making this, now i could fix story line and make more better quests and also fix old ones.And i think some bosses like infernal and air elemental are very strong they might need weakening.

Information:
As stated above changes never made, also in the last line of the description, he wants unprotected version to continiue, which pretty much means this won't happen, as currently there aren't any 100% working unprotectors.
