Assault on Stratholme

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
STORY

The broken city is now inhabited by the undead Scourge -- led by the powerful lich, Kel'Thuzad. A contingent of Scarlet Crusaders, led by Grand Crusader Dathrohan, also holds a portion of the ravaged city. The two sides are locked in constant, violent combat. It is said that the city is guarded by three massive watchtowers as well as a malefic Death Knight riding atop an unholy steed, dispensing indiscriminate wrath on all those who venture within the realm of the Scourge. The Argent Dawn has sent their men to Stratholme and meet it's horrors and remove them from existance.

Gameplay

It is an adventure style map where you take control of a group of heroes and their companions to complete quests and venture through the fallen city of Stratholme.

You will experience different events and bossfights, the undead will keep respawning(though the map is linear and can be won) so people who wants to keep killing undead with their new awesome loot can do that.

I want to thank the HiveWorkshop community for making it possible for me to download all the custom models (I'm sorry for not mentioning every creator of the model, but they shall have a HUGE thank you for making this possible).

Well it wasn't bad in story but I was a little confused as to what the main hero actually WAS. If he was a Death Knight then shouldn't he have been a bit more powerful than that? Also I don't particularly like the fact that the only healer in the group can't heal himself and can barely heal the other 2 heros if they get swarmed. I know that you said that the scourge got more powerful after the nethrezim fight but I don't understand why nor do I understand why only a few were stronger. Also I didn't understand in the beginning why you say to go to the slaughter house and the zigg and destroy them but they're invuln. The foot soldiers should have had the defend ability to help them out a little. It's rather annoying to play through with every one of my footies dieing and the only thing that can heal my healer sucks at healing. Also you're description says that there's a respawn system, the main hero died and I couldn't respawn him so I think you might need to work on that a little.

So to cut what you said short, you want me to..

1: Improve the Healer
2: Explain the sudden strength of some of the Scourge
3: Improve the Footmen.
4: Make it clear who the main character is.
5: Make it clear that you need to kill the protecters of the Ziggurat and Slaughterhouse in the beginning, and not the buildings themselves.
6: Make it clear that it's the enemy who respawn and not the heroes.

That's the things you suggest i should fix if i understood what you said right?

Thanks. I'm not really sure if you can because I dont use the editor much but can't you just take Holy Light and add the tarfet self? Other than that...

1. Add in some extra stuff, for example behind the door in the Scarlet Temple.
2. Tweak the items a tad so that the stuff you get later on is really worth it, like add multiple effects.

4/5 because I'm not a big fan of DKs or WoW but its still pretty good for killing time.

For a Warcraft Campaign, you seriously own.
Overall: 7.5/10
Gameplay: 8/10 Fun, but gets repetitive =0 Maybe because i am not a fan of RPG.
Cinematics: 6/10 Not bad, however could have been better.
Heroes: 8/10 I think that the heroes are the best they can be.
Units: 4/10 Add more variety of enemies.
Flow: 6/10 You sort of dont know where to go at some points.
Story: 5/10 You never really elaborated on the hostage.
Suggestions: Make more types of scourage units. Stop units from spawning non-stop, maybe at larger intervals. For Story, you never explained the "plans of revenge" of the Crusader, can you like explain it? Also for the hostage, you never elaborated or show him trying to execute her. Rated 4/5 and voted Approval.

I think you have a lot of unfinished business, especially concerning descriptions and icons. There are a lot of spells you haven't wrote a description for, mostly there is no description when you learn the spell. You haven't added the Disabled icon for all the imported icons, meaning they just show green squares.

Also the heal spell for one of your heroes is bugged, when you use it once he keeps using it until you make him do something else, I don't understand why you based this of the heal spell instead of the holy light spell.

The icons for the spells are nice, but else then that, there's nothing custom about the spells, even the values and effects look exactly the same, it's not so hard to change this in the object editor

Terrain could use some improvement, more doodads mainly, and some more tile variation

Also didn't you have the destroy the 2 buildings at the start? They were invulnerable, or did u just have to kill the 2 bosses infront of them?

Except from that, the map was decent, you have a base, all you need to do is improve it

Thank you for all the constructive criticism. I appreciate it.

I'm going to give the map some updates over the next few weeks, and hopefully reach end up having a map people will enjoy and maybe evening playing more than once.

It was nice. I like to play it based on WOW lore. I could say that it would be better with voice act. Good job! Thx!
