What sort of Campaign is this?

This is a Blizzard fashion Campaign.
Where you control custom heroes and custom races and engage in fights with computer controlled opponents.
Maps have dungeons, Dungeon Bosses and other cool stuff.

A New version has been released! With it comes various changes and updates. The maps now have Raid Bosses, these powerful monsters can be encountered in many Acts, but some of them are harder to find than others. These Raid Bosses carry their own unique drops and combat strategies.

Numerous shops have been added to all maps along with hundreds of new items, recipes and item combinations. The shops Now sell all Enchantable items so you can choose what item(s) you want to enchant from the beginning.

All the changes are to numerous to list, you'll just have to play and see for yourself!

A better Hard Difficulty!
The veterans of this campaign might have it to easy now that they now their way around. The hard difficulty has been changed to provide a new challenge!

Other Changes:
- General Achievements have been removed, the reasoning for this being that they pushed the player to itemize and spec their hero in one way. Both Vareikos and Sarai can be build many different ways. From combat spellcasters, summoners or hardcore supports to rapid melee fighters, skill damage fighters or attack damage Fighters. I felt that the G.Achievements only supported one way.

- The heroes primary attribute no longer increases damage. Now all the heroes have their attack damage set to a certain amount. It still can be increased with items of course. The reasoning for this being that stat gain very quickly overpowered the heroes to certain points where they could take on whole squads of enemy units and defeat them with little difficulty.

FAQ'S/NEED TO KNOW THINGS:

1.How to start Quests/Interact with npc's?
- Heroes have 2 skills that let them Interact with various things. The normal Interact and Skip.
Using Interact will shows the cinematic and talk to npc's like normal where's the Skip will just skip all that and launch the quests instantly.

2.How do I swap my race?
- first off enter "-swapon" to turn in on, then enter the race you want to swap to.


What Is In The Maps.

CUSTOM SKILLS:
+All heroes and a lot of units have custom skilla, some of them increase their power by the heroes attributes and other factors.

CUSTOM ITEMS:
+All the items are custom, some of them have triggered effects.
+Some of the items can be enchanted, enchanting items increases there power and unlocks other (hidden) effects.
+Some items can be fused together to form stronger items.
+Item are bought with Rune Coins which are given for killing enemy heroes, units completing quests and can be found in hidden stashes. Rune Coins Travel with you from map to map.

CUSTOM UNITS:
Over 500 custom using imported models and skins.

CUSTOM RACES:
Tired of playing with the Canids? now you can easily swap your race by entering a simple command.

NEW STORY:
The story is not set within the Warcraft 3 universe.

Achievements.
Now when you play you can complete various achievements, each map has its own unique achievements as well as general achievements that can be completed in any map. When you finish the campaign a scoreboard will appear that will show your stats.

Hero Style

The heroes have skills that increase there power based on their stats, say on one hero Int increases the chance to land a successful blow.(Like Intelligence would be the chance(%) for Critical Strike) and say other skills increase the Damage Power, Heal Power, Restoration Power etc. And say there are Items have effects that Increase and Decrease AGI, STR and INT so you have to choose what items you have to carry with your hero, do you want it to be more like a healer or battle mage.
One of the heroes has a Magical Critical Rate, that if activated successfully will cause an extra effect.


Items

  • All the items in the map are custom and have different sub-types.
  • There are items that decrease one attribute but increase the other more.
  • Items that have effects which I took from Diablo 2, Effects like "Attacker takes damage of 3" Which means every time your hero gets attacked it will inflict damage to the attacker.
  • Other Item effects to restore you when you cast a spell, get attacked, you attack.
  • Upgradeable Items are items that can enhanced twice for more power.
  • Enchantable Items are items that start of weak at +1 and can be Enchanted up to +10 with extra abilities being unlocked along the way.

COMMAND LIST
These commands are not necessary, but will help you get around much more easily.

"-ac" - Will display Achievements that can be completed only in the current map.

"-eb" - Will display the Achievement Board.

"-nb" - Will display the Coin Board.(Appears by default)

"-swapon" - Turn race swaping on.

"-swapdemon" - Swaps your race to Demon.

"-swapfallen" - Swaps your race to Fallen.

EDIT: played finish the first chapter, will mention out the things i saw one by one.

1) What does the footman in the top middle of the map does? apparently when i walked to it, it doesn't say anything at all or does anything.

2) The quest which asks you to retrieve the artifact from the hounds, apparently i can't seem to get it out of the house or maybe im just retarded LOL. because i killed the hounds before i took the quest.

3) The spirit gem when i clicked on it, it says, "restore lost hit points" AND when you patch up the "statues" around the map you will be lead to the boss, but if you right click to the spot, the units...are able to walk UNDERWATER to the boss which surprised me o.o.

4) when i went into the cinematics for Darna, somehow or somewhat, one of my archer went behind him and got stuck. i can't seem to go in or go out with other troops.

5) Regarding the wooden chest inside the dungeon which drops the key, how about making something that makes you pick it up and automatically opens the door? its irritating when i have 6 items and i have to walk back and forth just to open the door and picking up my item.

6) There were a couple of small typos during the cinematics though it doesn't matter much.

i liked the terrain of the map and it gives off a fresh feeling from the start. will continue to post after i finish all of the chapters and sorry for the long post lol.

Downloading and testing afterwards...

Okay, I tested it until the camp with the yellow soldiers. (still quest 1)
A couple of suggestions:
- Make the game more unique and interesting. Right now it feels like a blizzard campaign. The spell system might be original for campaigns, but I don't really get how much damage my spells do and stuff like that.
- Icon placement for buildings is not good. Fix it.
- Please make it so that you can see how much wood is left in the crystal deposits. I know it's not necessary with normal lumber, but it is with the crystals.
- Make the mana restore spell of the hero at the beginning restore a lot more health than mana. Mana is just plain useless, because none of your starting units will ever run out of mana.
- I also suggest you limit the player per level in what it can build. In example, in lvl 1 only make the player able to build T1 buildings.
- Towers have less hp and worse armor than houses? Wtf? Decrease the amount of hp houses have... Sryously... 950 hp for my house and 600 for undead-ish house is sick.
- The collision size of archers is huge, reduce it to the selection circle size.

second chapter :

1) didn't find much things except that the ogre doesn't really slow down by 50% even if you use the spell.

2) kinda felt that the nerubian boss was weak. it didn't do much except making my people run around lol.

third chapter :

1) have not really finshed yet, but the tormented soul's quest...i destroyed all the crypts before approaching him and thats..lol since its on the other end of the place..

He says see the captain or something like that and point you to the base. you probably just didn't see him talking.

The house is invo until you take up the hound quest after that you must destroy the house to pick up the item. Will have to fix up this to since people seem to get lost here. Found the problem, It would remain invo if you used skip instead of interact.

Ok, now thats an epic bug, fixing it now. Thanks for the find.

Improved the pathing around Darna to prevent this.

That Vareikos ability that restores hp of target friendly unit can target hostiles too.
Why would you want to heal enemies ?
In second mission that nagas withches grgon's curse ability can target only friendly units.
Thats a buff not a debuff :) it gives + 50% Attack damage and attacks that poison and slow the enemies. But I'll have to change the name to something else that gorgons curse, maybe gorgons blessing or smth.

Ultimate_MapCreator:

The spell is not designed to be a healing spell, its main function is to restores mana.

Well, yeah your right probably. Decreased the armor and HP of houses.

The collision size is 32, same as a normal night elf archer. I based ir on that unit and didn't change the pathing.

I'll have to ask the creator(s) : what version of the Beta is this campaign? Is it fresh off of alpha? (because there are a lot of slip-ups) , or almost official? (final release) ; Either way, it matters not, because as far as a campaign goes, I'd place it next to -Heroes of Genesia- on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being -Heroes of Genesia- of course).
I wish I could do a full review, but I've already tired my eyes testing and reviewing a certain map *cough - ERAS - cough* and all I want to say is that this campaign is certainly worth playing! - I recommend both -Heroes of Genesia- and -Ascension- to any person in search of a good-ol' fun / challenging / unique campaign on the Hive.

- Rating : 4/5 (polishing would help, I'd give a 5/5 for effort though)
- Voting for : Approval!
 
Okay, here's some errors I saw:
  • When you destroy the first base to right (the easiest) and the conversation started with the Archer getting rescued "Thanks goodness, youre here!" It should be you're.


What I like:
  • The terrain of the first mission, OMGWTFBBQLOLOLOL. Saw awesome!
  • Darna :> (For those who don't know, Darna is the female comic superhero here)

What I don't Like:
  • There is a hay spam near the soldier in the river D:

Okay, I'm still at chapter 1 cause I'm stuck. I got the quest from the Knight of Ra to eliminate the Hounds. (I already killed them before I started that quest) The hint says the artifact is in the house. What should I do D:. The house stay's invulnerable.

well im only on chapter one and as they have already said it looks a lot like a wc campaing. The boss on chapter 1 was just a tank, you only need to have enough units to bring it down, i think you could add something a little more interesting like more skills (think on one skill that makes the monster heal when it is hit or somethng like that).
Anyways, with which patch are you testing this? im unable to see interlude it just pops back to the chapter selection screen and im not able to go to chapter 2.

Thanks man. I'll finish it no doubt, I have been working on it since like 2007 and the only thing thats been keeping me on it the reviews and the support. I love when the people say that they like and don't like that keeps me "in the game" :)

It seems there's a bug, I finish the first mission and when it should upload the interlude it goes back to the main screen. Even when I try to reload it, it won't work.
It's a pity it looks like a really promising effert.
Another little bug, in the first mission I killed the gnolls before talking to the humans in the middle and the house stayed invulnerable.

I liked it for the most part.

Bugs: There's a house in Act 3 that even after you destroy it with the TNT you cannot get the enchanting manual behind it. Also in Act 3 there seems to be a hero of some sort stuck in the woods. Iunno if that was intentional or not.

I personally think that some of the rewards are kinda..... Useless.... The staff in the first chapter was useless imo and so i left it. Then in Act 4 the reward for the quiz game (for all the questions right) seems worth so much less than the reward for 1 wrong answer. Also the "Supreme Intelligence" thing that drops off the spider only gives 10 int. by comparison thats alot of int but..... it seems lacking.

Wow, your actually the first person to tell me about bugs beyond chapter 2. The hero in act 3 is moved to a certain location when the demand is met, did you see the hero in the woods with cheats? I placed it there because at that time I didn't know how to make created heroes drop items so I just hid it. I'll see what I can to about the quest rewards, the quiz game reward for all questions right is a recipe, you cant get that recipe any other way.

Yea the sword recipe is nice but... Iunno it somehow just doesn't seem to measure up to the power of an enhanceing manual. Also yea I did see it with cheats but more than that I completed all the quests in Act 3 and she was still there. Also, whats the point of being able to go see the spell circle? And the Sprite Orb +4 in Act 4 can't be enchanted. Also 1 change I would make is that in Act 2 the hall with the golems, put the door on the other end of the hall so that we can save the EM for after we get the staff if we want.

The hero in the forest appears when you kill 3 devilkins (Those kids) which are dancing around a burning woman. I'm not sure, what spell circle you are talking about? Also thats a good idea, I'll change the doors location with the next update.

The spell circle in Act 3, next to the Void. You can get to it if you blow up a building or knock down a gate I think. And the ability to skip cutscenes would be nice. So I don't have to watch the openings to the chapters again.

Also, before I forget, Act 3 is a bit buggy. The ghost's quest, if you choose to look at the cinema doesn't give you the quest. You have to use the skip cinema skill to get it. And if you use the skip cinema on the book the book stays there. Not sure how many others in Act 3 are like that.

I really cant say when the full version will be out, when it is ready ^^. And I don't want to use custom sound as it is over 50mb without any imported sounds. And about the cinematics .. well, there will be more when theres more maps. :)

Personally I think a few more hidden things would be more awesome than more cinema. Ya know, like more chances to get upgrading tomes or enchanting manuals or more items that take alot of effort to kill the boss so that you get some super epic loot. Also I hope that later versions have a few more quests. And the bone flute that you get as a reward in the first Act confused me as to how to make it. The peasant never occured to me to be a shop. And while custom music is nice, I believe it to be a bit overrated. If you really want music just mute the ingame music and open a media player in the background.

In Act 3, near the center of the map there is an area that has a double building together. One is destructable and the other isn't. Should probably remove the blocking one.
