Arch Sorceress

"Cowards running from parlor tricks made by a little human girl, the knifes aren't real..."

Some deceased Orc who lost his head...

And here is, this model was complicated for the animations. Medivh looks like a pervert hiding drugs, so i went for Jaina as the base. The inspiration was a mix from the Archmage and Wizard concept art from older games.

There are two versions in the bundle, one with team colored tunic, and other with colored shoulders, and a mirror image variant. While the model is less customizable, some magic can be done with a little patience. On horse and bosses comming later. If someone with 2D talent want to make icons, i'll be happy to link them here.

Edit.

Updated: The face is now brighter on Portraits animations, thanks to General Frank help on discord.

A very nice model edit with great use of in-game textures and a good spin on the Archmage. Works in-game and performs very well.
A wonderful model edit, but there are some few issues with it.
Please fix the following issues:

  • 1650010240289-png.398180

The hero glow looks jagged and when rotated it forms a clear hard line behind the model.
  • 1650010317176-png.398181

The lighting is very weird and smudgy on the face. You might want to fix the normals or the smoothing groups of those vertices.

I reworked the glow, it don't form the pacman mouth on the side view anymore, the portrait i welded some vertices, but if that don'tw work, i'm going to change the camera angle to one with more ilumination.

You might want to just recalculate the normal of the face with RMS. That works great for me mostly.

Oh I love the Attack Walk Stand Spin animation! Lovely idea and very creative. I can see it as a mix of Bladestorm and a periodical Fan of Knives or Phoenix Fire.
I would personally give the model a wider stance, though. She is too "thin" in the game, and that makes her hard to see and distinguish among other models. Look for example at Jaina and Uther. They have more readable silhouettes.
Also, I would replace the orb in her staff with a billboarded plane, for example from the Naga Altar of Depths (you can use geoset animations to recolour it) and some glow. 3D-modelled spheres never look great in WC3. Finally the wrap on the staff could be improved a little, in particular the grasping part. It's a little too blurry and messy at the moment - a good solution would be to use a higher resolution texture there.

Man this is so cool, some of the stand animations can still be used for spells of some sort. honestly well done, and like deepstrasz pointed out its super rich.
