Suggested modes: 1 v 1, 2 v 2 or FFA
Tileset: Barrens

Description: Mount Fang, the dangerous mountain wall that wont get your land units through. Use your mind and ride around it, or conquer it with a zeppelin!

Notes from me: My second melee map, and i think this one is pretty good, i like it, it has balanced placing. Download and try it out in a game!

Version 1.1
- Fixed the cliff near reds and teals base
- Added monsters to base spawns
- Added player amount in name
Version 1.2
- Great improvement of terrain
- Added new monsters to the fountains
- Changed most of the monsters range to camp
- Reduced the drop chances of a few items
- Middle dragon changed to 2 level 9 lizards
Version 1.3
- Red, Teal and Blue moved closer to the trees.
- Fixed the drops.
- Now the goblin laboratories have been moved a little further behind monsters.
- Terrain improvements.
- Fixed Shadows.

  • You should keep to Blizzard's naming convention for Melee Maps (if not all their maps they publish / promote), that is, (maximumPlayers)MapName.w3x. In your case, (4)FangMountain.w3x.
  • I haven't checked thoroughly, but here's a cliff type inconsistency:

I did not know why did the cliff change, i used the same terrain tiles over there, anyways thanks for the help! And about the player number, i am going to add it right away! +rep

Edit: Map updated to version 1.1, changes above. Screenshot has not been updated yet!

  • I meant you should have named your filename (4)FangMountain_v1.1.w3x or something, (4)FangMountain.w3x, I dunno.
  • I like how you split up the two teams and force the use of Zeppelins to make teamwork or something? Done so by a giant cliff running diagonally across the map with a strong creep camp guarding the only open point along the cliff.
  • How does force priority work? I haven't tested it out, are two players who are allied situated on opposite sides of the map? Or next to each other but separated by the cliff?
  • Unguarded regeneration fountains? o_O, I dunno x_X
  • Shouldn't the creeps have Camp Acquisition Range, instead of normal? If you simply by pass them, they will attack you if within range. But I see you try to counter that by spacing out the distance the creeps are to the 'main road'.
  • I found this strange, but Bronze Dragon mixing with Murlocs? 0.o

Terrain:
  • What's up with the random Resurrection Stones?
  • It's awfully big and open in some parts, and the tiles could do with a bit more variation, some doodads, and the like.
  • The ramps in the middle part of the map, where the water is, looks distorted and ugly, that's what you get with diagonal ramps. I'd suggest covering up the edges and other ugly parts with fitting doodads.

I think the concept of this Melee Map is nice, but it needs refining and polishing. Meow.

Actually, now that I look at it, it could become a base for two players and become a "stronghold" basically you have to get through. Which also reinforces the use of Zeppelins as a tactic. Although AI players won't adapt well.

No, not really. I just thought it'd be nice to have it be consistent with other Melee Maps, it's completely up to you though.

Oh, but don't Murlocs get damaged by the Bronze Dragon's splash damage?

I just thought it was rather random. I generally start off with the map layout, then just throw random decorations, I also suck at terraining ^o^

Hmmm. Terrain seems to have had improved a bit from the previous version.

You seem to have spammed doodads at certain areas making in look like i's clustered at some areas but empty in others areas. Spread the doodads out to make it look more realistic.

Balance-wise, I think it's pretty good. But terrain-wise, I think your cliffs are pretty bad. The trails too. It looks like everything is organized in a certain way. Make it more random and improve your terrain. But not bad overall, quite good actually. In my opinion of course.

I'll give you a 3.6/5

I like it. Its symetrical yet still random. Its very well thought off.

I got 2 things in mind though of what I would of done:
-bigger build space (since its an expansion melee map)
-more exits out of base

The rest, rules.

Btw what is the purpose of res stones? You can res your hero there?

Grrrr again bad item drops, bad terrain borders (map size)!
And new bad things, unprotected Goblin Laboratory, grrrrr!
Unit target acquisition should be campaign!

Also can you please balance map a little more, red player for example has 2 gold mines for expansion teal don't!
