  • Please forgive me if I've already invited you (I totally can't recall), but something tells me you really might enjoy a little Discord server set up by a friend of mine called "Factioneers".

It's primarily focused on (you guessed it) designing custom factions (& heroes) for Warcraft 3. And what's crazier, we have a recent section added for (I kid you not) theorycrafting a "2nd Wc3 expansion". (I'm ashamed to admit I myself spearheaded that move, completely oblivious to your whole big topic on the matter xD. Thanks for the reminder, by the way)

Anyway it's also where I do almost all my custom faction talk (not really using a singular Thread anymore), so if you want in here's the link: Join the Warcraft 3 Factioneers Discord Server!

(Post) Hoy there! Just a gift of rep for that awesome Naga 'auto-repair' idea before I forget again, thank you!

(Post) Most of these are great ideas, but the "Coral Bed - Naga Buildings - HP Regen - No Repair" concept is AMAZING and I will be sure to credit you when (not 'if') I use it in *my* Naga. ^_^
Holy cow, I thought your name was familiar! You're from SoL as well!

I was there periodically a few years back (originally "Triumvirate"), & now I'm on the Discord (though not as often as I'd like...).

Very cool to see you here too; what brings you to *my* stomping grounds? : )

OK I wish I'd checked before posting; you were here before *I* even was. xD Oh well then.

Well, I began my Warcraft lore career through modding, but I wasn't as active on English sites back then. I spent most of my time at Spanish mapmaking sites instead (none of which exist anymore lmao).

Scrolls of Lore was the exception, since there weren't any other good places to talk about lore. Haven't been around there for a while, excessive moderation kinda ruined the good atmosphere it had during the early years. WoW shitting all over the lore didn't help either. I really loved that place, it's a pity it lost its charm :I.

Also, everyone and their mother changed their goddamn user names so I don't even know who is who anymore xD.

I decided to return to W3 during the confinment, but then Reforged was a huge flop, so... dunno, I wish I could go back to the good old golden age of modding. Modern gaming is such a pile of trash. So now I check this place when I'm bored, and that's it.

    Huh!

Well, even though many of the names are different, you should consider checking out the Discord, as it's much more active than the forums (last I checked). If nothing else, a good way to keep in touch with old fellow lore curmudgeons. ; )

Also, for modding: you can just stick to earlier versions like many of us do (I'm partial to v1.26; good vintage that year ;P); Reforged is generally backwards-compatible so it works.
Eyyy man, are you one of the Why No members?

Yeah, all those dudes, Rasofe, Spiderweb that Cpt. Obvious and whatnot titles.
The threads are long gone though since they made a new forums page for some reason.
You made that altered melee map where we had to defend against zerg and stuff, if I recall correctly.

The names do sound familiar, but it's been so long... I think we had a group at Skype but I haven't used the program in ages lmao.

The SC2 editor was a pain so I never got into it. I only made two major maps:

In Partial Darkness - A demo for expanded cliff tiers, trying to emulate the terrain castles from W3. Protoss defended against zerg, but the gameplay itself was kinda simple. Never got to improve it, since SC2 didn't feel good enough for castle-like siege battles anyway.

Strategist - Now this one I'm kinda proud of. It was some kind of micro tournament, with two major differences: Each player played against everyone else each round (plus an AI player) and you got to choose a squad of units for each round, unlocking new squads as the rounds progressed. Never got to play it with enough people due to the shitty lobby restrictions, but those who played it loved it, and it was really addicting, even with just 2 players.

Yeah, there was a Skype group, MasterSyden, AlexSCkill or something like that, other names I can remember.

Yeah, I think the first one is what we played.
