Opera Mobile used the Presto layout engine until version 15, which was replaced by Webkit, then Blink
Opera Mini fetches all content through a proxy server, renders it using the Presto layout engine,and reformats web pages into a format more suitable for small screens.
This is what Opera brought to web surfing during the 1990-2000s, before Google Chrome started to take over since 2009:

I have to stress out that Opera (Classic, that is until v12.18) and Opera (Next, starting with v15 and later renamed Opera) are *not* the same thing at all. Opera Classic had many many features built-in
