Hey Fury, instead of checking out how dark is the colour of the solution with our Naked eyes, we can use Colorimeter. It is more accurate. So I though I want to share this info with you.

This is confusing...

In the above experiment, 50.0cm(cubic volume) of HCl acid of concentration 2.0mol/dm(cubic) was used. 6.4g of SrCl2.6H20 was made.

Calculate the percentage yield.

Number of moles of HCl used = 0.1mol (Correct)

Number of moles of SrCl2.6H20 which could be formed = I thought it is 0.1 mol. but its wrong...Why?

Mass of one mole of SrCl2.6H20 is 267g.

Theoretical yield of SrCl2.6H20= .........

Percentage yield= ..........

I am stuck at the part of getting the mole of SrCl2.6H20. The correct answer is 0.05 mole but I got 0.1 mole. Any solutions?
