    i am making a little project that related to Scars of conflict, and i'd like to recreate that terrain in my map.
    What if you don't use ingame textures. Well, yes, but make it a new seperate texture for that specific model. So I have to import both model and texture. You think that will work?

    Also, another thing for another model: could you remove the walls and ground texture from the Town Hall model? :)

    The texture is pretty fucked up, and it's not the Lordaeron Dirt or Rough Dirt Texture. It seems to be a texture from the Icecrown Glazier tileset :/ Can you fix this?

    But the model is exactly what I need ;)
    Well, the path of the model seem to be:

    Doodads\Terrain\CliffDoodad\CityCliffDoodadCave2\CityCliffDoodadCave2

    The Dirt texture from the Lordaeron Summer tileset, if possible then the Rough Dirt.

    I just need it as a complete new model with that specific texture wrapped on it ;)

    Also, mind if I ask something else of you? You see, I need to use the Cave Natural Cliff with a Lordaeron texture. However, the map I need it for uses the Icecrown Glazier tileset and thusly uses the texture from that tileset.

    So what I need is a new seperate model (Cave Natural Cliff) that uses the Lordaeron texture. You think that's possible? :)

    Before texturing and animating, i exported quad faces and i was able to import it to model editor, also tried it for triangle model and it worked on the model editor as well, so problem shouldn't be the model right? I don't think it is about re-assigning the texture cause all the mdx files i've made are 0 bytes.. BlinkBoy told me to export his example models but i haven't try cause like i said even if i start a new one i wouldn't know what is the exact problem :/
    Unfortunately, i tried MdlxConv, dexport, NeoDex 2.7, impexpmdx, War3FileConverter, ObjToMdx, WarcraftIIIArtTools101, ik tools v3.1, M3_Plugins_v2.2 and more.. but mdx files never fit well and never gaved me the character in model editor.. I believe something wrong with model or it's rigging, right now even if i start a new model.. i don't know what should i change to make it right. So, i need more than i know about modeling for wc3, i failed hard :)

    By the way, Archian, regarding the new rank icons. Have you considered getting rid of the Blademaster in favour of the Orc Warlock? It could make a nice prelude to Gul'dan, and the Blademaster is honestly not the greatest (the blue hero border really ruins the style).

    Yes, we don't really like that one either. We tried with an Ogre and another version of Gul'dan / Hermit. Altough they looked great, it didn't seem to fit well as the others were hero units.

    And yes, I have been thinking about using the Chaos Orcs. They would work quite nicely. But the post count is already quite high (30.000 for max) and if we were to add more it would go even higher. Unless we decreased the post count, but that would kind of take away the "rarity" feel of getting a hero unit.

    But I agree with your point regarding the heroes. If you have some ideas how to resolve that, please let me know.

    Well, I dont need new animations made from scratch, but rather just animations moved from one unit to another. More specifically I would love it, if you could add footman animations to this model and remove the pickaxe and the default peasant animations :)

    Oh, duh. I was equating what your doing with what I did too strongly. Mine was a church thing and we were not allowed to really use computers aside from e-mailing our families weekly. But of course, in the real-world/army you still have phones & computers and what-not. Well, never mind then; no sympathy. :p

    Dang, three years; that's a pretty penny. (I'll be nearly 30, my son will be 4... wow) I remember I was concerned that after 2 years Wc3 modding would be all dried up... And while it (basically) did over @ Wc3C (*doffs hat, tear in eye*), things are still going nearly as strong here, 2-5 years later. I'm pretty sure we'll still be here when you get back. ; )

    Yeah, definitely. I know I wouldn't have done well in a combat role.

    So what are you hoping to finish/accomplish before leaving?
    Definitely; keeping fingers crossed & prayers sent. (how long is it, 2 years? 18 months?) While I'm personally a big proponent of the idea, I'll admit it's definitely daunting. I can say that my 2 years in a strictly-organized, away-from-home dealie ended up pretty alright for me; a lot of unique experiences you can't get elsewhere.

    Do you have any preferences? Front-line vs. security vs. coms? My dad started out as artillery in the Army before moving to helicopters. Seems they've got a job for almost everybody...
