(Post) I think you meant "Altruistic". Also, I didn't realize Blizz started reforged already back in 2016 with 1.27, but considering the 5-year gap from 1.26 I think you're right

(Post) Good luck my friend. Do it because you enjoy it. That’s why I do it. That’s why I will probably always do it.
Eyy, is there any program or way to make something to remove all animations from a model? I mean like just in one click or something instead of using Magos' to remove them one by one or convert them to .mdl and deleting the stuff in notepad++.

    I see. Thank you.

Is there a way to stop Retera's Model Studio from creating an additional .mdl model when I edit the model's parts, like removing animations how you suggested?

Hi, am a programmer which also believes that an open source recreation of the Warcraft engine is the way to go (like OpenMW is for Morrowind). So, am asking if you want some help with Warmash. I don't have experience with Java, but that can change.

I think that I am getting to a point where I hope and dream for getting a finished product at any cost, but my hobby coding projects have generally been solo and the probability that other people don't like my code style is very high. I don't have a problem with that, but my main focus is on getting a finished product right now moreso than how good the code style is.
Have you thought about why you would contribute to this instead of doing literally anything else? It is a very niche sort of project. Most of the people interested in it are probably people who never used Unreal or Unity and think that they need this project for some reason, so I'm not certain whether they're being reasonable and/or well-informed.

I want to contribute where I can (which may not be much to be honest) because this is a project I see myself having done it would I had the skill needed: after the backwards changes Reforged introduced, I feared the original Wc3 would be gone for good. I think an open source recreation is the best way to preserve it.

Alright Antkibo, it sounds like you want to be my new best friend.
I don't really have the project configured for collaboration anymore since I took down the github and took the code private. I wanted to wait until it was something a person could actually play and have a good game experience and then put it back to being a public open source project again. But there were also no contributors so I didn't really feel like I was negatively impacting anybody else.

So I wonder, how do I onboard someone into helping me? Am I too selfish to accept help? These are great questions. Maybe I'll DM you.
Hey Retera, I'm currently working with your program, It's pretty nice however I'm trying to figure out how the Animation section works, with the Animation, Custom Time, Global Sequence, I really don't get it to work. I want to add a Birth Animation to my custom made Model but it does not get reconigzed as a Birth Animation when I import it.

Not the example tutorial I needed but I managed to get it to work properly, just 2 things, is there a way to scale particles up or down? And how can I properly animate a rotating object (like a tome rotates around his axis)?
    - Thanks for your hard work tho you rock.
    Retera
    Retera
Yea particles have a size field that you can edit in notepad if you save as MDL, later on hopefully I will make a GUI for it. If that's not enough, you can actually use the Scale tool on the particle node in the animation editor, but it might not display the scaling until you view it ingame.

If rotating is giving you trouble because of the bug that makes things sort of jitter, you can fix this by using Edit>Optimize>Linearize

Hey, I managed to fix all my problems! Thanks you for this amazing Model Editor. Do you maybe know if it's possible to export Blender files with animation to wc3?
    Good evening Retera.
I feel a little (very) stupid, but I have a problem:
I would like to start making Warcraft Reforged models. So on the side, practice something, maybe something will come of it. I have a little more time right now.
Now I can't even get your Modeling Studio up and running.
I have given the path to the installation directory and I have 2 files less than are shown in one of your videos.
    https://ibb.co/SxYdC7j
I have Reforged installed and played of course.
Do I have to do anything in order for the Hd folders to be displayed?
And then I also get this error message:
    https://ibb.co/J5TFxDq

(I'm a failure in terms of computers.)
    Retera
    Retera
You're not a failure. I caused a big problem with my laziness. I have a hunch without even checking deeply into your problems yet that I know what's wrong. For Reforged (including Classic style models now) you have to google search "Retera Model Studio Reforged Hack" and use the version of the program that I posted on that thread instead of using the official tool upload.
This is because of a combination of my laziness, and also because I kept thinking "it'll be just a little bit better and then ready for official release" and so I never uploaded a newer one on the official tool download

Yo, mr Retera, I've made a better icon for your draenei destroyer, can you replace the current one with mine? Just trying to help
    Retera
    Retera
Uploading is slow and then usually you have to take them down for the site rules and advisories. I'm already in discussions to take down those building models i uploaded since they want it as a bundle or whatever, and I just didnt do that yet because I was lazy. Uploading seems to take a lot more than just making things

Sad to hear that a site this old still has problems like this. Cannot you make retera's workshop, where all your models appear?
    Retera
    Retera
I thought about it. I made one in 2004. https://retera.github.io/SummonsOfTheVoid/SummonsOfTheVoid.htm

It's a possibility, but I have already strained and tired the notion of being separatist in other ways. There's a lot of good in the Hive. I'm just saying that uploading models still feels like effort to me, whereas as a personal pet peeve sort of thing I wish it were automated.

(Post) I know you removed public access to Warsmash, but can I take a taste of it? It will just be between you and me for now. :D
Hello, I really liked your program and I really would like to create many models in it to diversify my maps. But here's the problem when I create a geoset I can't delete him. I tried to uninstall the program and download older versions. But nothing helped. And I also got a bunch of errors when I saved the work or opened it. Sorry for mistakes, My english is bad.

Oh yea that error is from a stupid bug that I made in the program by trying to overgeneralize the API that I designed for myself. It wants to treat every folder that it looks at similar to an old MPQ archive and have a "listfile" for it. In this case, if I save the model file in "C:\Users\Retera\Documents" then it thinks of "Documents" as where the model is. That way, if my model is "C:\Users\Retera\Documents\CoolGuy.mdx" and it uses "Textures\CoolTexture.blp" then it will find this by looking at "C:\Users\Retera\Documents\Textures\CoolTexture.blp".

But then I made a mistake in the code. It is trying to list everything in the "Documents". So the workaround is this: Make a folder for your models, like "C:\Users\Retera\Documents\WarcraftModels" and put everything in this folder. Then the problem will go away, because we will only look in "WarcraftModels" and files inside it.

(Post) Indeed, if you dare to go to great enough lengths, anything is possible.
Hey Retera, thanks for all your work and videos on your Model Studio, it's very exciting stuff.

I've been trying for a good 8 hours now to create an orc [head]hunter by combing a Grunt with a Berserker's alternate spears and animations
(reforged models). I've gotten closer than I should for not knowing what I'm doing, but it's still not right. I can get 95% of the motion data
converted if I don't mirror the grunt, (I want to mirror it) but some matricies don't have bones apparently, don't know what I'm doing there.
If I mirror the grunt I can't get the motion data to transfer correctly, even when I manually assign Right motion data to Left bones.

This is beyond my current skill level. It seems like a big ask, but; If you'd be willing to do a video on it, I think I could use what I
learn from it for my other projects, if not; I get it. Thanks again for your work and time.
