Hey, I was coping some animations to the Human Mage, and the animation of the Shaman wich it flies "Spell 2", causes the Mage's cape to put in her feets during his fly... why?
Misha
Misha
skeletons are different.. somewhat .u. shaman doesn't have 'cape-bones', and the human mage doesn't have the bones for.. whatever shaman is wearing.. i'm not sure what's quicker to do, adding bones to the human mage skeleton, or rigging the human mage to shaman skeleton
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
Ok, i will try but I'm not sure about...
Misha
Misha
well you can always delete the cape, add some other detail instead. Or.. animate it..? I'm really not sure how to teach animation tho..
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
Actually i hidded the cape by using blizz particles arround the body...
Misha
Misha
that is absolutely not a way to hide something.. particle spam will slow your game if the unit is used massively, particle spam will annoy people too.. i think i said your cape options were to either animate it or delete it.. which of the two is your pick?
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
Well, i almost will delete it... :c

you should probably start learning how to animate, as, no matter how wonky it could look, it would at least not clip with the rest of the model..

Animating itself is pretty much about picking a bone, choosing its starting and finishing position (by copy-pasting a frame to first and last frame in the anim, and then just adjusting that bone in any frame where the mesh clips. it can be done in many ways, and with many programs, even in normal model editor (although that version is really more coding-like)

Oh, i see.
Let me ask something.
How can i change for example the Human's Mage cape to let me see... the Jaina's Cape, is that even possible?
Misha
Misha
jaina's cape? well.. you can clean jaina's model first, leaving just the cape, and then transfer that with matrix eater or mdlvis.. but both will leave you with a very rigid piece of mesh unless you then do some rigging or animation bits after it.. it will probably need adjusting too
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
That sounds really hard to do...

Niarfe003
Niarfe003
Well i will try...
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
But actually im talking about change the texture...?
Misha
Misha
well try tutorials too.. i talked with you a lot..
Niarfe003
Niarfe003
Sorry, i'm an asking man :p

Misha
I wish i could transmit my knowledge to you, without me being a terrible teacher <w<
