  • So many unique models all at once! Wow what a great endeavor! Congrats!

Most of them are about 6-8 years old, I was just trying to crack open heavens fall and share some my creations.

This is only a small part of the hundreds of Heavens Fall models I created the past decade. I just had to go to bed last night to stop. I'll probably keep uploading again tonight. Akin to the Spitting Snap Dragon, many were recolors, though -- and recolored ability spells and effects. So although there are hundreds inside the project many of them may not be fit for uploading. I was doing some cherry picking last night, I'll probably do that again tonight.

That is very great. I would also highly suggest you upload all the rest; if you think the resource section CANNOT HANDLE IT, a simple thread will do it.
How to import potrait so it become one with the model?

Just to be precise, I would like, if possible, to do this via Matrix Eater :)

Here's another second video on how to do it when you want to use the same model for the portrait as you do for the base model:

I wonder how you never released some models considering the fact you have your own modeling program...Still working on models or you just want to make the matrix eater a better tool?
    Retera
    Retera
Some people have been saying that to me... Seems like maybe I'll have to upload some of the stuff I've.
I would say I have still used the Matrix Eater probably once every couple of days for various for-fun things, requests for people, hobby projects that die, etc. But I haven't really posted the things that I created.
    Hello retera
I would like to produce a mod too.
Could you explain to me how I can do? Or to give a written link where I can have explanations.
    Thanks in advance
Say is it possible to write a program that detects unnecessary animation frames and deletes them? Or is it too complicated?
I downloaaded Java for MatrixEater and it still doesnt work..
    Retera
    Retera
Well, that's not good. What kind of java did you download?
When all else fails, if you go to the CMD terminal in windows, if Java is correctly installed it should let you type "java -version" in that window, and it will show the version. If it says "java not found" or something, then it isn't fully installed.

If it IS installed, then you should be able to type "cd C:/path/to/matrix/eater" then after that type "java -jar MatrixEater3D.jar" and this should make it work for sure.

    Thanks will try that

I know it's a little crazy, but I really hope it works out for you. Basically, you just have to do *something* to make the "java interpreter" program, java.exe, run where the input it is given is the "MatrixEater3D.jar" file.

But getting it to go can be hard. The MatrixEater3D.exe file is not very smart, and if you install a better java, it will still use the one that comes with the MatrixEater download.
If the thing I said about CMD works, then you should be able to go to Program Files to your Java folder, find it, and replace the contents of "Matrix Eater 3D Model Editor/jre" with the contents of a "Program Files/Java/jre" folder you installed. Then the silly MatrixEater3D.exe app would start using that one. That should fix it for good if the CMD thing allows you to start the program.

The EXE I included with the Matrix Eater download will always look in its "jre" folder, and not to an installed Java.

(Bundle) What I'm interested here is did you only merge in game animations to make this or you made custom ones?
Hmm.. is it a good thing that I wait on a particular matrix eater feature to be added, instead of just getting it over with and merging stuff myself? .u.

I've had this running project of trying to rewrite a bunch of code in the matrix eater, but I keep on not finishing it, so then it's like I'm just getting nothing done. I guess it's just because I'm trying to change too many things at once, wanting the Matrix Eater to be the even better program that I want it to be, regardless of what other people are really looking for.

If I finish these concepts in my head to make the program what I want it to be, then I'll get back to that feeling that the version the world has and the version I'm working on are one product, where I can really easily add a feature.
But, in its current state, my upgraded version doesn't even work. It really bothers me. Sometimes I just swap out all the code for the old code, then stop upgrading, and just run it a bunch to use it.

whoops.. it was hayate that said you deserve a medal xD don't mind my brain and fingers disconnection xP
    hey there. :)

hm.. any chance that the matrix eater has something that combines the geosets that share the same material and geoset animations? i really want to do that with one of my models, so that it stops having like.. 40+ geosets xD

edit: the thing is, i don't wanna loose the rigging i did to the already existing geosets
    Greetings Retera,

Is there any tutorial to make units w/ different weapons using disarm? (Archmage w/ sword, Arthas w/ scepter etc) Sorry for bothering.

    Thanks!
Hmm.. what about an option that takes two short animations, and outputs them as a new animation that has those two literally one after the other, with no pause
    Misha

also, is there some 'model-diagnostic' that can tell me how I bamboozled a model i was working on? because of all the copy-pasting of anims, skeletons and their anim-tweaking, i came upon a situation where mdlvis doesn't want to let me animate that particular model anymore xD its like 'nope, you tortured the poor thing enough :/' :p
    Retera
    Retera
I don't know of any one program that is good at that. Sometimes if you watch errors in the Matrix Eater, and in other programs, one of them will give a relevant error text. I think the MDLX Converter often does pretty well at that?
    Misha
    Misha
well its not an error xD it just doesn't wanna let me move a bone to a position or rotate it. it just jitters whenever i try xD
hey dude? oO you still around?
    Misha
    Misha
    thanks x)

anyway, have you managed to somehow flip what's supposed to be front, to face up, and keep the animations as they are ? o3o i kinda remember needing that
    Retera
    Retera
No, I never did write code for that. It might be possible if I worked the math out, though. Translation and scaling would be pretty easy, so it's just a hassle to figure out the rotation values of the animation keyframes.
    Misha
    Misha
yeah, it would be great if you could do that ^^

by the way, i really hope you expand the program into an even greater tool over time, imagine being able to create quick models that could easily be implemented in unity games, all from this odd little format called war3. Sure, it probably should not be able to accept war3 texture format, because that is owned by blizzard, but rigging and animation that some of the war3 models use, deserve being converted, just because its our people that have made those, and not blizzard :3

but i'm being a bit offtopic here, maybe x3
I love your new signature; very clean, very uniform, very informative & good colors. Lol @ the MatrixEater: "If you have it, it's not the latest. I know this because I haven't released the latest". Also, I'd consider links in all the ones applicable; I mean, who wants to go through the *time* of copy/pasting the URL "etheller.com" into a new window? Cray-cray.
    Retera
    Retera
    Haha, yup!
etheller.com is down right now, I killed it on doomsday. I'm sure it will be back up, not too long from now.

I've fixed that note about the Matrix Eater. It includes a link to the latest now.

(Post) Very very very very very very thanks, i just love you dude! thanks

my program for change animation comes backs *-*
Hey how did you save your entry? I am not able to test it on 1.28.1
    Retera
    Retera
I've been distracted and didn't look back on the Hive for a while. Did you figure out how to open it? I was just testing on 1.27 and it seemed to work, as I recall. It was probably made in JNGP or the default editor.
Hi! It's been a while! Are you alright?

I'm back to work on the Peoples of Middle Earth project, are you still ready to give a hand with the MOD console?
    Retera
    Retera
Sure! I think I forget exactly how the code went together for that modding console, but I'm sure I still have it somewhere. I should try to get it on GitHub for you guys, if you're okay with it being open source like that.
    TheFrenchLeprechaun
    TheFrenchLeprechaun
Yeah why not! Do you need the current development map?
Hey I wanna ask if you know by any chance that you know that it is possible to export models with animation For FBX or DAE file into .mdx? :)
    Retera
    Retera
Hmm. I don't currently have any experience doing this, although I might be able to write an importer on the Matrix Eater if I spent a lot of time on it and found some Java libraries for FBX/DAE (similar to the OBJ importer the unreleased version has right now)
    Hantoo
    Hantoo
Ohh cool, if it is possible, and if you want, i could make an animation library for you to use :p like animating a bunch of stuff on a dummy model so that you can just choose which animation you want, and transfer it via matrix eater if you want it that is
    Hi Retera
Can you explain me how to do this:
    - The player selected 100% => Race 1: Human
    - The player selected 90% => Race 1: Orcs
    - The player selected 80% => Race 3: Undead
    - The player selected 70% => Race 4: Night elves
    - The player selected 60% => Race 5: Human
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello
No, I tried to do by myself, to watch your videos (despite that the mastery not as well English and that the video is blurry that I base that on the manipulation), to have explanations .. .. but I did not succeed
