English Live eh? Now I'm curious.

    Wark
Yes. I specialize in technical and business English for online courses, since my education came with a degree in business English and technical writing.

I'll check out your work in progress later; I have to clear out of the office right now. Catch you later!

    Take care!
480x480 Maps are already possible now and have been for the last decade if not longer though looking forward to that Warhammer project.

Yea, I know. But, I prefer the stability of the base world editor. It's more thanks to HerrDave for inspiring me towards that with his models.

Yea, I know about the town conquering problems, and have made a fix for that in version 1.60. That reputation thing seems to happen randomly, and I am still trying to figure it out. It seems to be from something murdering someone: -50 rep only happens during a murder. I think I'll put an additional check in the murder mechanic to make sure it's bandit AI or a player only.
Hi, forgive me if I say something wrong in our last dialogue, how are you?
EDIT: Right now I am testing new version of your map, and I found a bug. Elven hero can't build a Tree of Life.
    Hello, Wark! How are you?

I listen to some opinions and think: you know, it makes sense. Others, I ignore because it goes against my game design. Like wives, for example. It doesn't quite fit what I'm going for. My plan is to make something fun with a bit of a back story you learn by interacting with the world, either with armies or just heroes. I like variable play, and my main focus is on balance between playstyles (which is why sometimes I go crazy with rapid balance updates). I don't want to make everything completely balanced, however. I prefer balancing things with imbalance. You'll see what I mean when you try out spies. A player who uses a single spy effectively can completely undermine an enemy player.

Yes, i agree. I just mean this opinions what don't fit to your conception.

Once I host NB in Garena, as i see people enjoy your map, some payers also RP'ing own kingdoms. One of them told me what map's template very similar with other project, FoTN, or something like that.

It is inspired off Founders of the North (FotN), yes. That project is discontinued. I just want to make something from scratch with my own ideas.

Why would you ever accuse me, a completely functional and convincing human with real skin and eyes, to be a robot? My human feelings are damaged.

Ah, it's not an accusation. It's just uncertainty. Your messages are always soooo timely ;)

I'm joking, I was trying to sound like a robot impersonating a human with that comment.
I try to get the birthday messages done as early in the day as possible. :)
Thanks for your comments aobut my map Taldaram map . much appreciated

No problem, Ragnaros. Like I said, that one map and its setup really stands out. I'd work on improving that one first. I think it'll place well in the contest.
One has always known what they love and what they enjoy. To make it successful just requires a little creativity and ingenuity.
Hello! Thank you for both of your projects, especially for Northrend Bound. I like maps with such trading sustem, but why wine have no regional bonus?
    Wark
    Wark
Hmm. I never made regional bonuses for crafted consumables, mostly. The trigger for regional bonuses is a very long, complex string of and/or logic gates with if/then/else statements. It is already very complex, but I could add all consumables to it.
    Northrend Bound
I found 'Baker Terbakar' in Economy list, it's quite a unique name. Is that intentional? :)

I am curious of the quest system actually, so I want to wait for that to flesh out. If you have extra time to develop or can get a coder, you can add AI to allows solo living people like me to play (though I might be able to get a party once I go back to uni).
    Wark
    Wark
Ya, I plan to add AI once I make the bandit techtree. Computer players will just start off that way with their heroes, and act accordingly
    Hey Wark,

I was browsing around the web and thought about FOTN and wanted to see if people were still playing it. I saw you're trying to make a game inspired by it, but are having trouble terraining. I have done some terraining (even came in third in one of the terraining contests), and I'd love to help you with it. I lost my previous account info so I just made a new one. Let me know if you want my help!
    TheDeceased
    TheDeceased
Ah right, well there's no way to make that look less artificial, but perhaps an option would be to not allow flying units in dungeons (since it wouldn't make sense anyway).
    Wark
    Wark
Back on topic, I'm going to try using the "hero glow" model as a doodad with no tinting, and the dummy units with a shadow. I'll see what does a better job for underground shadowing.
I appreciate the offer for terrain, but I finally sat down and planned the layout for the towns and dungeons.
What I would like is an opinion on how things look after it's finished, specifically for base locations and open areas. Give me a week or two, and I'll have my map fully terrained. Deal?
    TheDeceased
    TheDeceased
Absolutely, I'm sure it'll look great with the amount of detail you're already putting in.
    Wark
    Wark
Ah, I see. It's good to see you're setting it also in the Warcraft universe!
I too am making it somewhat of an alternate universe, but based off the Warcraft lore, and focused on Orcs.
I like the Orcs, so I didn't shy on making them strong warriors if you choose them as a race. How long have you been working on it? I haven't even started on terraining my map yet.
Speaking of which, I am mediocre at terraining, but good with unit data and triggers. Need help with yours?
    Gilded
    Gilded
We are opposites i see because i have been learning terrainng for a few years and yet ignoring triggers which make custom games lovable but my map does have a few triggers like chicken generate income and wild animal spawn.
It is very hard to mimic Founders of the North's animal spawn i tried anyway.
    Wark
    Wark
I found a way to do that, and to make something like wolves or bears migrate if they are targeted. The method I use mostly uses unit indexing and custom values for the "Animals". My terraining is OK. Not good, but not terrible. I tend to use a lot of random brush strokes to fill space, which can be noticeable.
I've learned a lot from the Hive. Now, it's time to put it to good use and make something people will have a lot of fun with.
Of course. Jelas gak masalah bro :D

Yes it is because I didn't find any new mistakes. The spell revieweres just need a good explaination for triggers. So new changes may be connected with the trigger descriptions. Anyway the triggers for this spell were made to be easily imported into any map.

Alright. Anyways, the Bear Grasp ability has some weird graphical glitch when you go up hills. To me, it seems to raise the "z" value of the unit exponentially as you go uphill (z^2). Maybe you could offset that with a hyperbolic (1/z^2) equation?

I've seen worse. Besides, I'm just getting started here. What's the best way to honor people who put all that effort into making icons and models? Use them in an equally unique map. I just need a name for my new project...

Awesome! The Hive has so many ridiculously cool people. Glad that they inspired you; they inspired me too! I ended up spending more than thirty hours making a map because I didn't want to be a non-contributor on the Hive, but the map ended up being bad and I didn't publish it. After that experience, I had all the more respect for our content creators!

(Bundle) The playability of this map brought me old memories of the classic maps. I spent good hours of fun. Like it!
