  • Anyway, i need you to pause the progress of the main theme song for now.

I decided that we should make the battle music and stuff first. What do you say?
I am still waiting for my results. I am fine for now. :p

Anyway, I heard there's a crisis in an airport of Turkey. What is going on?
I've just finished my final exam! Therefore, I will be free for now. What about your exam?
FYI, I am currently designing the music system which is responsible for playing the battle music and etc during the right moment and condition. I guess you will have more work, mate. Besides that, I am trying to include objects that the players can interact to such as lower visibility by shooting the light bulbs and stuff like that to suit the players gameplay strategy. Any ideas? :D
Okay, i already check it out. The Heeavy arms is kinda more suited for a racing car purchasing music, if you know what I mean :D. You can try to make the beat softer.

About the main theme. Keep going. I know you can make it better. Anyway, hoping to see new progress!
Well, you know, I can't stop you from hanging out with your friends... :D
After all, it's time to relax after that stressful exam of yours.
hahahaa hey your theme choice allow me to draw again XD, actually my other choice to draw for the contest was knights :p, maybe i will draw more often, as before
Well, to be honest, I hate ripping sound effects and stuff. Wish we got some ways to make them ourselves...
I will fix the armory part but I will Hayate's art in it. He's quite busy. So, That will have to wait...

For the grenade, it is my intention to make it that way because from what I know about a frag grenade, it will explode around 5 seconds after you pull the pin. Well, since this is game, I guess I will change it.

About the melee attacks, I will add more difficulty into it. Such as giving enemies an ability to stun the player when he comes too close.

A map? That's cool. However, I can't do it now because we haven't begin the Alpha phase where we have completed all the game mechanisms and technical stuff.

About the first phase, I admit it is way too hard, all of them are actually using shotguns. I wish you can make it to the secret phase which you can actually fight new elite enemies.

I recommend you to use the smoke grenade, it works wonders. Since you got 100 of them, try to spam them. :D It will choke them to death.

The sound from COD? Not from COD, i took it from classic free loyalty sound effects. I hope we can have voice-acting in it...
I can't remember the details.... seriously, something to do about = people didn't think I drew the textures myself, they were hating clear use of photoshop filters.

Really really messy and wierd story that had more to do about politics then the product itself. Anyway, got disqualified for that competition. Took the blow because it was the first time I was part of a competition from the hive... etc. I was a kid back then anyway. :D

http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/poll-depository-353/texturing-competition-9-poll-91792/ found the competition in question. My english was still horrible back then, but even worst. HA! I'm reading through the whole thing... might find your answer in there. Bare with me though, I was like 16 years old back then.
http://mr-goblin.deviantart.com/art/The-Sentinel-Final-illustration-610980130 = this drawing.... erm, I'd say about 40 hours tops. Because I worked on it over 2 week-ends.. and that's about it.

    http://orig00.deviantart.net/1792/f/2013/350/1/c/illustration_wip14_by_mr_goblin-d6qt3t4.png

This one, I did it 2 years ago and it took me much longer then expected since a lot of work was spent on finding the right texture or the right facial expression etc. I'd say = probably over 120 hours... no joke.

Normally I spend from between 40 to 180 hours per project... but I'm a rendering freak. I want every pixels to be perfect. :S So yeah that's that.

To answer your other question = I don't really ''practice'' anymore. But every piece of drawing that I do = I want to make it the best that I can with what I know so far, and that's enough for me to learn A LOT... and yes, reference is the best tool as well to understand light, proportions etc.

quite frankly I also try to go beyond my comfort zone with everydrawing. I've started recently to ''try'' making my light seem more natural for exemple. Trying to better push my understanding of depth of field, of ambiant light, of direct light etc in my drawings.

''practice'' is more a mindset thing then a technical thing. If you put your mind to it and observe and understand, then you'll get better far faster then a person on who simply reproduce without stoping for a second. But that'S my personnal understanding
oh man.... that sketch XD, that was one of the draws that my boss throw away :(, but i can print it and keep drawing on it with a black pen, or maybe draw the (spoiler alert) t-rex mount, and assemble all together on photoshop :p

(Post) Sorry for that mate! I'm just very anal with the hive rules! True story: I got kicked out of a competition a while ago for using Photoshop filters... since then I'm making sure nobody gets horribly surprised when it's too late.
oh!, actually i was refering to any of my draws, you can choose the ones from my albums and this too ofc *-* (i.e. my paladin or the battle mage)
man, i just saw your entry, and i see the detail on the chest and jaw, and it's damn awesome!, yeah it is gonna take time to finisht that concept with that high detail, but it's gonna be so amazing! about my entry XD yeah, it's really empty and plain, but i like it, i wanted to do a monster battling an army, but i changed my concept at last moment, maybe i will start collaborating with any who wants to color my draws, maybe you wanna try?
    Reputation (+4):
(Post) Quite the show you have going on there. Maybe you'll be able to find time and get it finished some day :)
    Beta 5.6 is out!

    This will be tougher.

Well, I am having my exams here, it will be alright I guess...

Anyway, are you gonna be free soon? Can't wait for your music. I have been testing my game a million times with that same awful music.
To re-enable default lighting, use this:

    Custom script: call SetDayNightModels("Environment\\DNC\\DNCLordaeron\\DNCLordaeronTerrain\\DNCLordaeronTerrain.mdl" , "Environment\\DNC\\DNCLordaeron\\DNCLordaeronUnit\\DNCLordaeronUnit.mdl")

    ----------
Ahh I already get crashes with lights omni's gonna make me cry :'(
    ----------
Warcraft 3 should not "crash" while using omnis. You must be doing something wrong. Too many omni lights can cause graphical problems, but these shouldn't cause any lag or errors.
Hi. To make the corridor all dark, I disabled Warcraft 3's lighting system via a custom script:

    Custom script: call SetDayNightModels("","")

I light up the scene with custom omni lights. I create a doodad and set it's model to my custom omni light. To make lights "follow" the units, I would create a special effect on the unit with the custom omni light as it's model.

Here is a tutorial about creating custom omni lights. Browse through to "Creating Omnilights":

    http://www.thehelper.net/threads/how-to-create-day-and-night-models-with-omnilight.101426/

Careful with the number of omni lights you use. Warcraft 3 doesn't handle excessive omni lights well. This made making my cinematic very difficult. I could only have 4 or so omni lights together at once otherwise it would show graphic problems. I don't fully understand how to avoid the graphics problems. You will have to experiment with omni's yourself.

    Hi NightStalker06698

Yeah, I know how to make such a sky, but it won't be easy to explain how to do it.
That and most terrainers have their own techniques when it comes to sky-making,
I know for a fact (based on some collaborative projects we've done) that fladder
loves to spam and spam lighting doodads and cloud models and other similar SFX
models for his skies. He's also very fond of a doodad called "Galaxy" that I can't
find right now, but that doodad is extremely hard to work with and wouldn't work
at all for a cinematic (seeing as it is animated).

In truth, there are very few ways, I think, to make something similar to that pic
you linked in an actual cinematic, where the camera will be moving around. See,
the reason why scenic terrains can look so good as they do, is because it's a still
picture, move the camera just an inch in either direction and everything looks off.
That, and most SFX doodads react differently ingame than in the editor, so it'd be
hard to get it right color-wise and all when you constantly have to check it ingame.

In truth it'd take me the whole day to explain all the little details of how to do it to
you, and even if I did you'd probably end up finding out that you can't do it in a
cinematic. I'm sorry mate, I can only re-direct you to these tutorials:

Which I'm sure you've already read.
Hey bro, I need a short victory sfx. It will be used when the player achieve something. SHort as 5 seconds should be enough. You can take references from online FPS games.
To equip, press the weapon icon which you want to equip, after that , press the right arrow button on your computer to move to the pistol selection and do the same. Tell me if you can do it.
Haha, thanks man. The shop isn't easy to make, I spent the whole month making this system. BTW, are you able to upgrade the weapons and equip them? Just to confirm.
    That's some great suggestions!

Now here's the list of sub-weapons for now:
    a)Rifle?
    -GL
    -Smoke (poison effect)
    -Freeze(stun effect)

    b)Pistol?
    -Laser
    -Silencer

    (c)Equipments
    -ACOG
    -Gas mask(Considering)

    (d)Hand
    -?

4 for rifle mode, 4 for pistol mode, 4 for hand mode, 4 equipments

There's still some we need to think of. Equipments and Hand weapons like a baton?
