  • Well it depends on the intuos, but intuos is kinda cool. I'd actually prefer a pro intuos (which I do not have) to a Cintiq, cuz with the cintiq you gotta stare down and it hurts your back when drawing a lot of hours. Dunno. Different people, different opinions.
This has been said before and I used to think like you - brushes/tablets/etc. can save the day. They cannot. It is a matter of skill and these extras can only ease your work at later levels. Just flow with whatever you get, a half-decent one should do the job. I started with a small bamboo that barely had any screen size and am currently using a small intuos (not pro or anything). My bro bought a cintiq but it turned out it's not a huge difference, he even found it a bit annoying. I mean, it didn't make his art better, he did. Of course, it eases the work, but only by a little. Don't spend a ton of bucks on a tablet, spend a ton of time on skills building.

(also, brushes don't matter. I used to use other types of brushes, now I mainly stick to round and soft - they are much faster to click and more convenient)
Hey, I would gladly help but i am away of home. The college is far away from my home and i dont have computer here. There are plenty of models working with custom textures. You definitely do something wrong, maybe in exporting. I don't know. I dont use 3ds max so I wouldn't know anything about that. You should ask that in contest thread, you will get hopefully answers there.
No it doesn't. You just need to set correct path of your texture in world editor. If your texture has path for example warrior.blp you will set that path on we. If it is in some folder for example textures it will be textures\warrior.blp.
Well, you dont have to add tc, but your models have a lot of spots for tc, it's better with tc. Mine textures are various from warcraft mpq's. There are more then 10 different textures, but are from in game, which makes the model weight small file size.
Hmm, not sure about that. I think you can choose that. But watch for the file size. Always do that.
I think you just need to elete the area to make i team colorable, but maybe i am wrong. You should ask someone else. Ask Heinvers, he is great artist, he will know.
You have plenty of time out of contest. There are tutorials everywhere, you will learn quickly. :)
Yeah, I remember. You was doing some kind of elephant thing. XD
So you sell your models, that's cool. Really great staff, didn't know you were 3d artist. :)
I don't know a thing about textures. It's grea to hear that you can paint, make models and animate them. You do not have to worry about nothing, I have problem with my every model, mosly because of animations. Did you made some model earlier or? For warcraft, that is.
Well, there are a lot of good sides. Plenty of textures in mpq, lower filesize...Bu again, it's always easier with custom ones, no need to look for texture ...
    That's great then. :)
Yiu shoul try learning wraping with in game textures. For me it's easier.
It's not much, jusT finish it. Really, if you look at some models in models section you will find bigger ones, so your is okay.
Edit: if you plan to make texture custom then you will need to watch for the file size, thoiugh.
Oh, didn't know that. Well about 3000 vertices is not much for two models. But you know that better then me. I hope you will finish it. :)
1500 is not much polies. Mine currently has about 1700, they should work great in warcraft, but fom the screenshots they look HQ. It's not much believe me.
Heyy. What's your plans about textures considering your models for contest? And what about animations?
Try to export his examples and then compare. It's most likely your animations. Are you using advanced keys or interpolation methods? WC3 operates with linear, hermite, bezier and only uses basic keyframes. Study some WC3 models and compare.
Could it be that you're exporting models with quad faces? Convert it to triangles, make sure there is only Diffuse textures/materials, don't give it any advanced properties... The animations could be the problem as well. What does Magos' Model Editor display? It's likely that it would display a black character because you have to manually re-assign the textures and materials within the model editor. Ask around for advice! If BlinkBoy is available he's probably your best bet.
"Can't believe i am missing this chance twice."

What's going on? You won't be able to make it?
