  • perhaps I'll try it sometime. I have a few friends that like the diablo 3 a lot.
    I will be unable to make a comparision with Diablo, as I have never played it.
    However, I know that creating item arsenals is incredibly tiring and messy, so I fully understand your decision. :D

    The only real thing I have left to do is an alpha filter. I basically just need to cut them up, but the alpha filter, it's an annoying thing to make. If you could find someone with the time to cut them up in the appropriate sizes and then apply alpha filters to them, then I would test it ingame. If I approve, this individual would be added to the credits and I would then upload the UI parts here on the hive, for anyone to use.
    The diablo project looks really neat! Diablo II was just epic.

    Someone else also had the problem with the crashing hookshot, but I can't reproduce it myself. At what point does the hookshot crash for you?
    When it connects to an object? Start? Mid-flight?
    Yeah, adding more vertices gives better alternatives to wrap model. I would suggest looking at sylvanas' original texture, or even Tauer's models. He catched that warcraft feel when texturing, like black spots and lines within armor and such, it's hard to explain it nice...
    It's a simple point-target spell that launches a missile into the targeted direction. Poisons the unit upon impact (the poison can be dispelled).

    Amazon has melee spells, they're "spear" spells, but you'd have to implement a spear type weapon for that. Spear type spells are either lightning, or physical, let me know if you want me to create some spear spells as well.

    Legs, first. As you know, warcraft models(in game ones) have big foots and legs and you made them so small. Second, I would add some kind of shoulderpads. I think the model is not so good.looking without them.

    Note that the spell is ground targeted and is not homing, I just happened to click on the unit at that time xP
    The GIF is pretty laggy, the missile gets smaller over time and is constantly changing height. I actually changed the poison effect of Andariel's Breath to match this one because vertex coloring is a pain in the ass to work with.

    Ripping off spells from other spells and pasting them onto the amazon? I think the amazon already has enough skill possibilites as it is. If I find some time I will create spells for her as well.

    Awesome screenshots, truly. While the Andariel does look a little hotter, she's also a lot less nude XD

    While you're at it, creating the Andariel that is, set her backswing point to 1.
    She has that in Diablo II and also, it will prevent her from doing funny stuff
    with my abilities. If she still will, I will try to fix that up
    Well if you other warcraft units you made her body smaller which is not case with in game models, it will not fit well, but hey you can always make on from scratch.

    Alrighty then. I will make it MUI because I remember when I got into editing, I didn't make anything MUI because I didn't need to (in my project) then when I got a little better, I reworked everything even though I didn't need to. ~Half a year ago I changed the gameplay so that it would require stuff to be MUI and I didn't need to do anything, one of the best decisions I have ever made xD

    No OE spells would perfectly mimic DII abilities, except for some passives, naturally. I'm thinking about Guided Arrow and Immolation Arrow (Already know the execution of Andariel's spells, so that's good).
    Seems, fair, barracks are not really that important -- if it weren't for the magic item, most people would skip it.

    Hey man, don't jinx it, I might create a dud instead of a spell :D Although I wouldn't expect spells from me soon, the zephyr contest has started and I want to place my entry on there as soon as possible.
    You're not missing anything important. Well you could potentially bring in The Smith which would be before jail, in the barracks. There's a quest to kill him, get the hammer Charsi lost back to her and she will make your basic weapon magic.

    In DII the hp bars are shown in the top middle of the screen, and they are only shown if your mouse is hovering them. It would be a pain in the ass to code that shit xD

    That all sounds really great, but could you switch the places of mouse buttons? In DII it is mostly the left click for default attack and right click for abilities. Also, it would be great if you would implement movement on the left click, not sure if it is possible.
    The spell system seems great as well. Great job!

    I guess implementing the exact DII hp bar system is not that possible, so I guess your suggestion is good.
    I will try to work on the spells first and foremost. I don't know about the attack system yet, but I'm sure you can tweak it some more.

    Or slow missiles can be modified just to affect enemies, and if the enemy has the debuff, it will fire a slower missile?

    I will try to work on that as soon as I have the time, that will most likely be the day after tomorrow. First I'm gonna check how you do it and wonder if I can do it a little better. :p I already have it visualized in my head.

    Most of the points consist about trackables so I'm gonna cover that first - No, I never got into trackables, don't know anything about them so I wouldn't know how to code them :p

    As for the "interested in coding something", I'd be glad to, you would just need to be a little more specific :p

    About the (spiked fiends actually):

    I'm pretty sure the quillbeast model would fit perfectly :P

    About the skillpoints per level, make it 1 always, and just make a lot of levels that have a minor increase on the ability, I don't think it's too hard to make :P Same for stat points, just with 5.

    About the Slow Missiles, there's no such JASS native to slow missiles because there's no such classification "missile". At least not yet. If your missiles are triggered, then use slow missiles to grant the missiles a buff and then when you move those missiles, check if they have that buff. If yes, then offset the distance a little less in the loop.

    Gold drops, actually.. not quite what I meant. See in Diablo II there are some key items that grant a good amount of gold when sold. Example - Throwing Knife/Javelin for 480, Class items (depending on the bonuses) can be sold for a lot of gold. The plain gold drops are pretty irrelevant, but I guess you can make it relevant by increasing the amount of gold dropped, not the chance. That won't increase the effort of picking multiple gold coins up. :D

    If A and the rightclick are based on the same ability, just restrict the caster from using it in a short amount of time to avoid abusing :P

    About the Fallen Shaman elite, no I mean it shouldn't revive other Fallen Shaman -- it was removed quite some time ago because it was waaaaay too annoying. :D

    The conclusion text - Yeah if something confuses you or you don't have that much time on you, sure, I can help, but I might be a little pressured by other projects like the two I have now, upcoming contests (and I had another project idea in mind that I will want to start, but I guess it can wait). :P I can't really resist helping so I guess I'm in. :D Idk, if it's ranged then maybe you can use "Attack" order instead of "Smart"? I haven't worked with this stuff yet, so I might be wrong.

    I'm really interested in triggering some actual spells from Diablo II, after all I'm both a spell and a DII fanatic!
    ok I just finnish deleting all the units, yes all of them even the units that crash the editor when I tried to remove them

    So I think we can conclude than it's only the number of elements that make the game crash
