  • Wow man, you really got into it. Thanks for the great feedback. Some of the things were already on my list and I still have a bit more to do before releasing it. I'll address a few things here.

    I wasn't sure about arrow abilities. I'll change that.
    Mana potions do drop, I had the wrong model that's all. I fixed it now too.
    Hmmm, I like the music too. I haven't noticed it change. I'll try to queue it in a loop.
    The tome has 3 charges. I'll fix the tooltip.
    The ghouls had better matching colors, maybe the doom beasts would work better. I remember them having big claws and tales. Ghouls were good but no tale. QuilBeasts are more piggy like. Do you think the DoomBeast will fit?
    I want a trackables system that would be sweet. I asked KILLCIDE but I think he's too busy. Do you know about trackables? I could learn, I guess. I'm pretty fast at learning new things.
    Changing skill points might be tricky. Should I make it so you can spend more than 1 skill point per level? Then increase the levels of the attribute skills to like 20?
    Level-up resent mana and Hp. No problem. Forgot about that. Done.

    Slow Missiles ... ya, that would be a way better spell. I'm not really done with War Cry yet. I'm not sure what it should do. Would you know a JASS command for changing missile speed? Pretty sure there is no GUI for that.
    Increase gold drops, Got it! I have it set about 20% chance. Is 40% better?
    Something happened to the Cave. I opened my JNPG and it had a new loading menu and called itself UMS. I think I activated its UMSWE and it changed stuff. I know the triggers look different now. I can't really tell the difference besides that but I figure it has more features now. Oops. Noob mistake. I can go back through and re-adjust all the rock sizes ... udg.

    Arrow count increased to 100 and cost lowered to 20. I don't want 1 quiver to last the whole game so I don't want to go to 350, but I get your point.
    You actually have to press A then click to abuse. The attack systems are less than perfect. I think I might need help with this, or, I need to start from scratch. Do you know any systems that work this way? Would you be interested in helping me write any of this stuff?
    I put Bishibosh in the cold plains and added corpsefire to the cave.
    Bishibosh does raise fallen shaman. Try fighting him in the cold plains. It's abit unbalanced because he keeps raising other shaman and they raise fallen. I need to nerf that scene a bit.

    Ok, that's it. Thank you again for the input. I will started making changes already. Do you have any interest in writing an attack system or any spells. One thing I wanted was something that would allow a left-click to fire a spell while having right-click attack. Also, my attack system forces the Rogue to move in closer when she has the bow. I don't like this because it should stay ranged. But, when the attack is in cooldown 'smart' will give a move order. I also have a key movement system, but its not likely people will use this and they will definitely not prefer it. I really like the idea of on-hoover HP bars for creeps. I could just re-enable it, but it might be cool to make the hp bars red and not use one for the Rogue. This will only work with trackables. Any interest in do any coding for it? Also, if not, do you know any good systems I could implement or use as a example for an attack system? Or, slow missile or inner sight?

    It's fixed now. I thought it was my internet so I tested it with yahoo and was able to upload attachments there and mail them. It seemed just like the Hive was the only place. But then after 24 hrs. It worked.
    Ya! For sure. It would be super cool to use DII animations in wc3. I would rip everything and bring it over, just to see how far from wc3 I could go and how close to DII I could get.
    I think Diablo objects are 2d. I looked into it and downloaded a tool. Diablo uses MPQ files but the models are .dcc. I don't think they can convert.
    Sweet. It will probably be much better than mine. I wonder if you can rip models from Diablo since they are blizzard. I might look into this.

    For example, I couldn't find a good Blood Raven model so I made this one with a few simple adjustments and a skin recolor.

    All of the above. I only edit models and make skins. I can geomerge and remove weapons. I use Vertex Modifier. But, I like models other people make better.
    Right now, I am looking for models and skins for the cold plains. Mosty, looking for undead rogues.
    Hmm, I think I get what you mean. That would be a nice way to deal with it. That way I could have a dummy hero and trigger it to gain exp whenever the main character gains it. The the dummy could have all of the spells. I could add a dummy spell to the main character that when cast selects the spell dummy. I already do this for inventory and equipment. Thanks for the great suggestions!
    Ya, I was think of that, but afraid to actually try it. It seems like a lot of work ... and I'm not really sure how to make an ability show the little [1] in the corner to look like the skillz button when a hero has leveled up. I could use a dummy icon, but holy hell, that's a bunch of work.
    I wish I could find that sound. I have Diablo sound sets for Act I & II, but there is no "I can't" or "not here." I would love those. It's probably somewhere though, I should keep looking. Ok, so let's say I use 3 skills for each weapon and 2 passive skills. How do I get them to be learned by all players but only used by some? Do I have to trigger all of them and then use an if/then to check for the right unit? udg. Also, do you know how to put learned spells into a spellbook? That might make it easier. I have a lot of work to do still. I need to make an arrow/quiver item system and bolts and javelin items, and more terrain for more levels, more quests and fix all of the default error messages and tooltips that are still showing. I need and evasion stat and a block ability for shields. yikes, this is going to take a while.

    Cool, I can fix the angle easy. I'm not sure about the companion system yet, maybe I should just make the mercenary cheaper. There is one for sale with Kashya.

    I can add a passive evasion that increases levels with .... dexerity? right?

    About the spells. Well, here is where it gets tricky. I use 2 models for the hero. 1 used hand weapons and the other is an archer. I have no spear thrower model, though maybe I can make one from the bandit (and make it female). But, in any event, the spells are weapon specific, right? So how do they transfer from the rogue with the bow to the one without? I was thinking about trying to make universal spells that would work for all models, no matter which weapon they use. Is that too lame? Are there defensive spells that could be used with every weapon? I was thinking mirror image and some type of repel that would have a little knockback in it and lower the enemy's attack damage and armor. Does that make sense? If so, what spells would be best? If not, what spells are indispensable?
    I do have a portal just like Diablo II. It looks way better than BPower's but it bugs the second time you try it but it works once really well, lol. I like your suggestion about a companion. That's a fun idea. I'll try to get the angle better. I'm not sure what you mean though, is it too close to the hero or too low to the ground?

    Also, any suggestion for spells? Fire Arrow and cold arrow seem so basic and only work with a bow. I only have the shareware version so I only played as Barbarian. I want to make a bolt and quiver system. Did you see the bow? you need to cheat to buy it "greedisgood" but the character uses it perfectly. I want to make cold plains, burial ground and a monastery (then I'm done). Beat blood raven and Andriel and that's it. Are there any systems I'm missing?

    I can add a starting weapon, no problem. I gave her gold to buy something. The attack should work but right-clicking on an enemy in range. Gheed's gambling system was just for fun. I didn't want to create a butt-load of unidentified items (though I will make a few). I did add the attributes and made them affect the right things for the most part. Did you notice? I added Stamina and stamina potions.

    I know it will be hard to make it perfect, that's why I am making it a variation. The Amazon is supposed to be a Rogue, but that part can get worked out later. For now, I want the equipment, portal, house, cave, attributes and attachments to be working. I'm going to add spells too, but I need to make them work in a spell book. I also want to have it so one can be selected as active, some are passive and others would be inactive until selected. I also want to get trackables for a left-click spell attack system. I updated it last night and I played it this morning through the end of Den of Evil and it worked. What did you think of the portals? Or balance? obviously a weapon is needed, but besides that?
    Thanks man. I've got a lot going on in it. So many little things are different about Diablo. I'm trying to get as many as I can. I think maybe the story will be that this was the last Rogue to try to defeat Blood Raven before the Amazon, or whichever, character shows up at the encampment.
    Recent events? What's those? Theft?

    Creating quests and terrain is a bunch of busy work and it doesn't excite me much. I like the idea of creating a working scenario with foreign ambiance. Diablo is a good choice because it is different but not so different as to be impossible. It is also a nice set to work with. Maybe I will try to complete act I, but I think a shortened version might be better.

    I downloaded the shareware demo and I realize there is a lot of work to do. I think I am just going to do the cave quest and end it there. Mostly, I want to get all the item/attack/trade systems right and then I will let someone else build all the terrains and quests. If you check the link in my prior VM you can see some improvements.
