    It's no bother. You could also do something like add that unit to a unit group and check if it's in the group.

    First is, how can you detect if the caster attack?
    Event: A unit is attacked is exploitable and players can abuse it.
    What's the description of the spell? If I happen to found the spell interesting, I'll do it but I won't use indexing.

    Yeah it will work.
    Hmmm, drawbacks, well you gotta loop all the texttag so if you're not doing that before, then there's your drawback.
    If the texttag (floating text) is "attached" to a unit, I used this
    call SetTextTagVisibility(.text, IsUnitVisible(.u, GetLocalPlayer()))
    which means if the unit is visible to a local player (certain pc), then show text tag to that localplayer, if it is not visible, then hide texttag.

    ^That code (taken from my spell) is periodically running.

    If it is not attached to a unit, then I think there is a native called IsPointVisible which take an x and y input argument
    You can use a dummy unit with actual cleave to attack at the same time as the unit you want to detect cleave on. Not too hard to make and quite a nice result. Don't forget to give the dummy cleave that has 0% damage to the one that needs the description. I sometimes forget that and do it the other way around, lol. My naming is a bit bad sometimes... =)
    You will always know which unit dealt the damage, but you wouldn't know that the damage came from a cleaving strike.
