Answer to the last 3 messages: To be honest i thought SC2 would bring the doom of War3, and i was partly right. The amount of players did drop alot, yet not as much as i thought.
My way of developing maps includes endless beta-testing of new version and ultra-early fixes whenever any bug is found, followed by the immediate release of the fixed version, for further testing, until a stable state is reached.
What happened to Avatar is a combination of no longer being able to go through that process (there weren't enough players to fill all roles in a meaningful way anymore) and me having to focus on game design studies. I realize now that it was a mistake to completely let it go. I should have taken some time on more holidays to check the actual situation in b.net .
What holds true however, is that most of my registered beta-testers are no longer active, and i don't really have the time these days to redo the gathering work and re-reach my old level of coding and stuff. It's something i'd really like to do, but unfortunately cannot right now.
If i do get back to it And find beta testers, it will be a matter of days, maybe weeks, and i might decide it's too time-consuming halfway through, in which case nobody will hear about the attempted revival. That happened before. If i do get through all of it and release a new version, well you'll notice the map being updated here.
I was caught up in work life, and computer issues. Long story short i lost the original files and I don't think I'll ever stumble upon them again.
However, i've heard some things about a WC3:Reforged thing coming soon, which sounds intriguing, and also I'm a legit game designer now, publishing standalone apps and such things. I do miss playing all 4 of my maps, those were very exciting days. So who knows what might happen.
