  • Hi...I've been desycning from my teammates right at the part with the little Hydra. This is the mob right before the 1st boss, the Naga Royal guard with the Grunt in the cage. This is version 2.1.0. I did set all my video settings to low, so I'm wondering if that's the problem.
    I just got that editor crash thing too. I just resaved the map and it fixed itself. It seems that it's related to trash object editor data that points to invalid fields. Since most of my objects are generated with ObjectMerger the problem fixed itself upon resaving.
    Ah okay. Would rather have you post so there would be more activity leading to more activity. Snowball effect?

    Could you do that? It also makes that notice more noticeable.
    If you lose data during the transition, an error has occured and I have to restart it. :)

    Now that's strange. I don't think my editor or object editor has ever crashed from deleting abilities, although the game certainly doesn't seem to like it if abilities based on channel have changed animation strings(in some cases?).
    It might be that I'm saved from problems like that by not actually making many objects manually. I prefer my objectmerger format that I coded myself to allow saving objects as readable text files. Now that I think of it, I could give it for people to use, since it only requires JNGP and is activated with a very short script.

    Although I did get the idea to ask from this thread, I haven't actually played sunken city for ages. I was more wondering if I will get problems eventually, since considering that I know the amount of object editor data you have, I am quite close to it.

    You did reach a point here that I've been thinking about recently though. Just today I was thinking about whether I should create variations of abilities or keep everything thematically as unique as possible and it seems quite apparent you've chosen the latter.

    It's a bit easier for me to consider both choices than it is for you though, I suppose, because it's fairly hard to actually architecture code well in GUI and I don't have that limitation.
    What's the problem with OE data? I use a very high amount of objects and haven't encountered anything so far.
    That's how I remember it being. I do remember for sure you had some huge limitation.
    Could I ask how many ability triggers you have in Sunken City? I'm somewhat interested in what exactly is going wrong that doesn't let you have more triggers.

    Hey, in Sunken City 2.0.7, I got 'Puzzle box of the Old Gods' from a treasure bag and it is a relic item, so there is a boss fight/ use for it somewhere ?

    Hey, just wanted to thank you for your words. It does sometimes kill a bit of the motivation when people criticize my work like that. It's not even the criticism in itself, criticism is actually a great way to improve. It's that sometimes that criticism is in no way constructive, like Eagle XI's comment on Garona.
    It helps to know that these are a minority and the majority appreciates what I do, instead of calling me lazy.
