    Hey Archian, I really like those buttons you've made for Hive 2, can you teach me how to do that by psd file or whatsoever? I really like the style, and I want to make one for my android game project, a big one.

    I'm doing all fine as well, thanks. My job keeps me busy, but I still got time for everything else (including modding), and I love my job, so nothing to complain about. ;)
    New project, no, not really "new". Instead I'm working on my mammoth project, Legends of Arkain, again. :)
    I had stopped working on it - for several different reasons - but I decided not to give it up <span style="font-size: 9px">(also, it cannot die, apparently - it survived multiple crashes, data losses and much more)</span>. I don't have as much time as I used to, but I will finish all nine campaigns one day - even if it takes me forever. ;)

    I hope you'll have some fun with my little creations. ;)

    That might work, but for some reason the wrap is all screwed. That's the case with the original model as well. I really have no idea what Blizzard did there.

    ...That said. I shuffled around some material layers and got something satisfactory. It might not be precisely the same as in-game, but do let me know if it works. Just remove "war3mapimported/" from the texture's path.
    I've also attached the Town Hall/Keep/Castle without walls or a ground texture. Be warned that those are there in the first place to make sure there's something underneath the building for when it's built on unequal terrain, so to replace them I've added a simple stone foundation underneath the building, but it might not look great on certain extreme hills/angles (the Castle in particular has a stone foundation right underneath the gate, which looks a bit silly but I couldn't think of another way). As usual do let me know if anything's not to your satisfaction or isn't working.

    EDIT: There was a problem with the portrait camera, I fixed it.
    Right, well. In that case I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. Blizzard programmed cliffs in a weird way. I suggest you ask around though, maybe someone out there figured it out. :(
    I'm not sure I understand what exactly needs to be done. Can you specify the model's path and which textures you want it to use? It shouldn't be hard, unless you want to entirely replace cliffs in your map. I'm not sure how that would be done.

    I have some additional ideas in mind to help Hive and modding further, especially a spell workshop for simple spells and systems. I might open it soon, just have to create some decent 2D presentation before.

    Ah, but I did not mean neither Gul'dan nor the Hermit, I meant the Orc Warlock unit from Grom's missions:

    I tried cutting it and making a makeshift rank icon myself and it looked quite neat.

    Now as for the heroes. One thing you could do is add them in earlier. You could make a sort of racial ladder: Peon --> Grunt --> Raider --> Blademaster, Troll Headhunter --> Troll Witch Doctor --> Troll Berserker --> Shadow Hunter, Shaman --> Wyvern --> Far Seer, Witch Doctor --> Tauren --> Tauren Chieftain. Another option is to replace the heroes with Chaos units or otherwise, and add them as a single-tier unlock (you unlock all 4 basic heroes) at a relatively high post count, but before 'unique' heroes like Rexxar, Grom and Thrall. You may need to shuffle the postcounts for this one, but it might make a bit more sense. I guess a special UI could be developed for Hive 2.0 in which you can see your progress and which icons you unlock next, making it less chaotic. And my third idea involves implementing the heroes separately from post-count, for example awarding them for number of contest awards or for resources. Personally I like the 2nd idea best, but obviously non are ideal.

    Anyway I was asking for you to either delete or set these on Needs Fix.
    By the way, Archian, regarding the new rank icons. Have you considered getting rid of the Blademaster in favour of the Orc Warlock? It could make a nice prelude to Gul'dan, and the Blademaster is honestly not the greatest (the blue hero border really ruins the style).

    EDIT: Although ruining the 4-hero dynamic would probably be bad, and besides the smaller version doesn't look as bad I expected... Scratch that, I suppose. The Orc Warlock certainly has one of the coolest Orc icons though and is the only 'missing' Orc unit (other than beasts).

    Alternatively, the icons leading up to Chaos Grom could be Chaos Peon, Chaos Grunt, Chaos Wolf Rider, Chaos Warlock and Chaos Blademaster, but that would require major restructuring and I'm not sure what you think about that... The heroes are a little bit unintuitive because they're not technically "above" one another, many would consider the Blademaster a higher-rank character than, say, the Far Seer or Shadow Hunter for instance, and you can't really rank them considering they're balanced. The units make more sense because they have a clear sense of progression in regards to tech, abilities and strength.
    Ah, that's simple enough. I hope I'm not late! Do you have KAIL333XZ's permission though? I'm certain he won't mind, but it never hurts to ask.

    One of his hands on the original model seems to lack a bone, so do let me know if anything behaves wonkily. I may attempt to patch it up using that one unreliable, buggy animation tool I have. :P
