    Yea, ppl often focus too much on imports rather than originatlity (I won't mention any maps in particular, because Fokyip probably won't like me saying his Evolution of Races map collection lacked originality and any form of substance). With the import rule lifted, I gather that some ppl will do, as you say, include models for the sake of awesomeness :(

    When I see a model, I think about what can be done with it. Some ppl may go for an 'awesome' look, but there's some ideas I love to implement and if I see a model that can handle it, I will seriously consider using it :p

    yes. I had completed the idea I had. But as a model, it needed more, but I didn't know what. ANd people in the Naga Social Group wanted to see it :p So, that was that :p

    Came here for the first terraining contest and I talk to some of the cool people here. I'm really only active in the chat, and that doesnt count :S
    Sorry, but that naga building i uploaded is the last model that i will upload on hiveworkshop.
    I won't mod Wc3 anymore. Maybe i'll join some modeling contests but i won't upload even that model from the contest to the model section.
    OK, my maps contain one custom race which is available only to non-computer players and activated if the player chooses a certain ordinary race, for example, if s/he chooses Night Elf, it is replaced by Naga, else it's not.
    And I also try to make it just like other races, with all their features - heroes, buildings, workers, upgrades, etc.
    Generally, that's it ;)
    Don't wanna stray too much offtopic. Apparently Rising_Dusk saw this thread only once or in other cases he just didn't feel to post.
    Cmon, Tauren, Trolls, ... they are the lamest playable races in warcraft for me. Nerubian and Satyrs aren't interesting races either. All of these races are very primitive, poorly organization, their best technology is throwing spear and have some sort of vodoo magic. Thats why humans, elves, demons, undead and orcs are much more fun to play. About the goblins, you already said that they removed them and probably I wouldn't like them much as in warcraft they give them too much technology comparing to other races (machine guns, internal cumbustion engines, jet planes wtf).

    And I don't get how Tales of Ravignon is based on warhammer. I really like races of warhamer, but then it seems they just took the lamest races from there. Like warlords battlecry, where they tried to make a rip from warhammer, but they just removed the cool stuff :( Without Empire, Skaven, Dwarves, Dark elves, ... it isn't really what I want.
    Ah now I finally see. However it looks a race mod with lame races, even lamer that those in Tales of ravignon. So I don't regret they failed. I don't like that mods fail because requiring too much custom stuff, sometimes is better to use something already out there, either default stuff or submitted on various sites, like thw model section.

    Whell first you pick an angle , screenshot the icon.
    CnP it to photoshop.
    resize it to 1000² pix.
    smudge the bad wraps so they fit in eachother,
    make the shadings and the highlights stronger
    so you have more contrast and freehand wherever the wrap looks like crap.
    after that resize it to 64² and borderize it.
