But yeah, after reading through the post, I can see how you would take it that way. It sounded a lot more hostile than intended. I was hoping the "I'll join in protest" part would give it away, but I guess it was overshadowed by the first part.

With that said, while the hostility was unintentional, the implication was still sincere. It doesn't really matter now for this contest, and it's not directed at you, or anyone in particular, but there's a general problem with the way contest themes are selected. It happened with the last icon contest too (people were unhappy with poll theme, and a new theme was selected, you know what happened), and the last modeling contest had almost no participation because the theme was selected by the community rather than the actual modelers.
Really, you were just going with the change by appealing to the participants rather than the mass, which I'm actually a supporter of, so it wasn't really fair of me to give you such a hard time for it, and I'm sorry 'bout that. The only thing that really bothered me, was that you just selected a theme, instead of maybe having a participants only poll of the top 3 themes (something that Direfury suggested in the poll-thread too, so I'm surprised he was fighting me on it), or something like that. Even though the selected theme definitely would have won the poll anyway, and this, technically, was my favourite theme from the very beginning, I'm sure there are some who had a different opinion and at least would have like to have a say in the matter. But then again, no one else has really voiced dissatisfaction, so maybe the opinion was pretty unanimous.

Alright, I'm going a bit off on a tangent here, so I'll try to round off. I personally think the current theme should stick, and I'm in. People have probably started getting ideas already (myself included), and it wouldn't be fair to anyone to change the theme yet again. I just think that we, as in the community, should discuss our general approach to future contest theme selection. Sorry for the long rant I'll copy some of it and post it in the contest thread as well.

Ok, I took a quick look to drow maps, first one must be redone, as the whole layout is bad, too symmetrical. Objectives are generally fine, but they must be divided in some more diverse way. Second feels a little empty and it has some bad trees, but otherwise is not bad. Third is a bit of jump, very big and Adele seems to pop out from nowhere. I need some idea of a scenario that it's placed between second and third map. However a good candidate is OrcCave, but it's still related to the previous character and you play with orcs this time. Of course then there will be needed a final scenario(s).

I can relate to that. Though in my case I don't even bother anymore. I joined one spell contest, got quite horrible results never joined since then. I am too much of a noob to stand a chance against the vjass gods.

Directly from RL? I can not pronounce 'R' correctly, thus with my Polish accent that word usually ends up being more of "banana" that actually "bannar" when coming from my mouth. Bannar is a nickname taken from Diablo3 universe, Chieftain of Berserkers clan, tribe of Barbarian nation. Took it because Spinnaker was already taken by my twin brother.
