Hm, I see... But I could use it without any drawbacks, couldn't I ?
    A
Hm, I think you are right.

Is there a drawback of 2.x or why don't you like it ?
    A
I don't want to look paranoid, but if it hacks this, what else it might hack...
I mean, for users like you, being experienced with coding and such, you have an overview, but for me it is like buying a tool box with tools I never saw in my life.

I wonder, as you said, JNGP has many features that not everyone uses, why doesn't there exist a 'light' version with basic features ?

The latest version of JNGP I get from following the link in the resource of Magtheridon96, right ?
    A
Yeah, this is a discussion often turning up again.
I am not confident with a software being tracked as a hacker tool by anti virus, even if it is only once when installing it.
Tho, now thinking about it, I need a higher doodad limit, so I might get it anyways.
    A
Yes, I read that, too. I simply don't want to use JNGP if I can avoid it.

    Ah, now I am envious..
    A
Hm, I guess I use the one from Doomlord then, even if this means I have to copy 198 abilities...
    A
I wonder why such a system does not exist, being fully GUI. The CSS from Doomlord is a bit bad to add without JNGP.

Alright, thank you for your time and patience! :)
    A
    Ahh, I understand.

    ----------
For instance, to add a bonus of 57 you need 32+16+8+1.
    ----------
So, this is made so one does not have to create several abilities for each bonus, isn't it ? I could also add a value of 10 to the list, couldn't I ?

    ----------
Most of the abilities used in bonusmods never show an icon regardless of whether they are on items or not.
    ----------
is there a list or something of abilities used which don't show up ? How do I know which ability shows up or not ?
    A
So, to summarize, item abilities are not shown in command cards/ aren't visible to the player, but their stats are added to the unit.
I don't need spell books to add them but simply adding them to the hero himself.

I don't understand how to make a Bonusmod. I create for each item a bunch of corresponding abilities that add stats. These abilities are item abilities and therefore not shown to the player ?
    A
    ----------
The only difference that this flag makes in object editor is that item abilities don't have tooltips.
    ----------
Why is this important ? I mean, you have the item tooltips, that is fine to display the stats, isn't it ? The spell book inventory item ability shows the tooltip, informing the player about the item stats, doesn't it ?
Does this allow me to add an active ability ? I would like to make the equipping this way.
Player uses the spell book inventory item ability and the item becomes unequipped.

    ----------
The linked system is one of the possible bonusmods, although it's not really hard to create your own.
    ----------
Is it possible to create one in GUI, being MUI ?
    A
    ----------
Also, note that abilities on items are possible to detect as if they were on the unit directly.
    ----------
Does this mean I can add an item ability to a unit, using all of its stats on the unit ?

About the bonus mod, it is this one ?

    ----------
Alternatively you can put the passive icons to hero icon slots(if you have 7 or less).
    ----------
Sadly not possible, I have at least 9 item categories.
    A
Here is Infected Attack, I didn't play the newer versions, but this used a 'spellbook inventory' in former versions.

Basically, you have equipment items being actively used, like a health potion. Using it adds a dummy ability to a spellbook called 'Inventory'. I don't know how they execute the item stats, but my solution would be to create additional hidden spellbooks containing them.
For example, I have an item called pickaxe in my inventory. I 'use' it to make use of its stats, getting bonus damage and attack speed.
This inventory solution allows one to have control about item types like main hand, chest, off hand and such and of course extending the count of items the hero 'can equip' to 11/12.
The problem is, this solution requires a workaround for complex item stats. If I had only one bonus per item, then I could make the dummy ability in the inventory spellbook ( the active one) giving a bonus. But, as an item can have up to 'unlimited' boni, one would have to find another solution and I thought about hidden spellbooks.
    What do you think ?
    A
Yes, they are triggered. I need these passive spell books for my inventory system, a similar system as seen in Infected Attack ( was updated recently here).
But they cannot have more than 11 abilities, do they, if they are hidden ?
    A
So I could, for example, have one active spell book with only active abilities, a second/ and third active spell book with passive abilities and then unlimited hidden spell books with passive abilities ?
    Great! Thank you!
    A
    Hello,
could I ask you a short question, please ?
Can a unit/ a hero use 'unlimited' hidden spellbooks ?
Doesn't work for all kinds of maps, though.
But tbh, the solution is far easier than that:
Just stop playing your own map until you finished a huge chunk of new content. I always feel satisfaction when playing newly created content, even if I know it inside out. Especially when you play it with randoms on Bnet ... you can watch them play it and feel satisfied watching them struggle...
Sometimes I just watch passively on the sixth player slot while the other 5 try out the new content.
As added bonus, you will also get interesting balance data that way...
True, but it's not that useful unless it's a longer message.
Sant, men det är inte jätte användbart om det inte är ett längre meddelande.
Guess that could be the case. I am fine with anything.
Det kan nog stämma. Jag är okej med allting.

I don't watch Tv much, maybe a max of 3 shows a day. I'm not a very social person and believe it or not, TV is a social event. So NO
I hate this world so much, Aiyaiyaya!

Don't you hate it when people play something irritating on the tv, then rewind to hear it again and again!

    NOOOOOO!
    ok I lie

I actually want to heal the world and cure all pains.

    that sort of thing

not world peace because that will never happen
I want to have so much money that if I wanted to, I could plunge the whole worlds economy into darkness.

and I know I.can do it.
ok so your not me from the future, or at least your not willing to admit it, but you have seemed to have forgotten something about me.

My determination to succeed and my strong willed ambition.

I can accomplish this. I have already created a portion of it, and if God will let me I will accomplish the whole.
can you answer me this. Are you me from the future trying to warn me about something?

if so be honest. don't lie to me, If I am you and you are me. you can trust me to take what you say to heart.
problem is even with this "force" it's just an impossible task.

    consider this.

I work 6 to 6. all week and sometimes Saturdays. the level of stress is high but here is the interesting bit. sometimes, quite frequently recently, I will be woken up in the middle of the night by frustration and this drive to do some programming.

it helps, but as soon as I hit a bump like for instance my computer Wilkinson lag with heavy programs or the program it's self will present a difficult conundrum, I would get depressed and tired and quit.

I think that only makes things worse.

how do I over come this? ... are you sure your not me? helping people is another thing I do.
    under acheivement

I've got a degree in programming which means I should have a turn out of 1.6 million pounds a year

but I work in the construction field instead....

and the thing is I need to work in construction but I also want to create programs for self help education

just where is the time, is the problem.

    under achievement and frustration.
Indeed people might stop buying games, but I don't think the games industry will die out. Rather, it will change shape and start getting money indirectly. Many games are already going down the path of being able to buy cosmetic upgrades for real money. Surely there will be crises, but eventually a balance will be reached whereby a game effectively become a social service, but a fairly cheap one.
Ya I totally hate modern day games.

the old games used to be so much bigger and took longer to beat.

look at the game populous. it has over 30 different levels. made in 1991 and is still played online and over lan.

now look at the current biggest game on the market. Halo. it has only 16 stages and although it's also a good game, that's a bit of a rip off.

Warcraft also has a good number of stages and look at how well liked it is because developers bothered to create an engine for the end user to create maps.

I only wish that games would get off the net and back onto offline play. so many modern games have no campaign at all. just net related gaming which sucks.

I believe in 20 years Times, people wont buy games anymore. they will all be made at home with engines like "click & play, warcraft world editor and others"
That's how it tends to be. A truly successful person has to know when to be active and when to be passive. Being active all the time leads to opportunism and that person will not be successful for long. Being passive all the time can produce something good, but it will likely be given to some more active person who can develop the idea faster. It's an ancient conflict really and neither side can truly "win" without the other. Just think of the gaming industry. Large companies buy ideas from smaller, more innovative ones. Typically it happens by buying the smaller company itself and thus, the packet of all its inventions. Then the large company uses its huge market power to develop the ideas as much as they can. Eventually the ideas don't have any way to be developed further, so they stagnate and so does the playerbase. Then the cycle starts again by finding new innovations. I used to think it's bad, but it doesn't have to be. Indies typically don't have the market power to truly perfect their idea, while large companies typically have too many responsibilities to risk with trying out things. In an ideal economy there would be a high amount of low-budget indies that produce ideas and, when they make something good, enlist the aid of a company to develop it more. Problems come when any of those mechanics falls out of balance.
If the companies get too strong, they will buy out everything that might even remotely bring profit, thus not letting innovative projects mature.
If the indies are too strong, they have little incentive to actually create something new rather than simply doing what works. They will either become companies or disappear.
Atm the crisis in the game industry seems to come from 2 related and overlapping events:
Companies were very successful a few decades ago and leveraged this power a bit too much, leading to stagnation and creating tons of expensive games that aren't really innovative. Eventually people got bored of playing the same games with upgraded graphics over and over again.
Secondly, the spread of Steam and other publishing platforms has reduced the need for indies to leverage company support in a wide scale. Companies that don't have a large publishing platform are bleeding out due to not being able to stay in competition.
There is the potential threat of Steam or some other similar service monopolizing the industry, but atm it has only been happening at the expense of the previous generation of game development.
Yes I can believe that. look at Tesla and even Newton.

two opposite sides of science fame. Tesla had his inventions undermined, over looked and even stolen by Eddenson. he was a very humble guy and wasn't very public, which made it easy for him to slip through the cracks of history.

newton on the other hand. stole the works of 5 other scientists and simple compiled it into one book. thus becoming famous. if you remember, he was simple a poet before becoming a scientist.

so being a free thinking, does not benefit the individual but rather every opportunist around.

    speaking of opportunists.

did you know aggressive natured people can only progress through opportunity, while passive natured people can make opportunities (think)?
I think that comes back to our earlier topic of

people who use their brains and people who don't.

that's shocking in my opinion. it means now that we have a world full of potential mindless order following killers, and a select few think for them selfs defiants.
they should that people are willing to follow any order no matter how ridiculous.

as long as they will not be held responsible for their actions. ssh long as they are assured no one will blame them for it
That's partly what empathy is about - not doing what's logical from your perspective. It is sometimes beneficial to abuse people, but typically there are some things preventing that. Thus, a perfectly logical person of average intelligence will likely be selfish. It takes quite a lot to understand that in the bigger picture we only hurt ourselves by hurting others.
About love I do know. I have the thing that once I start loving someone, it doesn't really end. I can get over that person, but they will always have a special meaning to me.
