  • Not a problem at all, it's just that you have to learn to install the software you need and monitor it.

    Free hosting is always crap.

    Don't use free forum hosting either because if you want to move, it may be hard to copy over the posts. And they are also crap.

    You can use cheap shared web hosting but I prefer to use something like digitalocean.com or linode.com. Their cheapest plan is a good start. You will have to learn managing servers for those two though. If that's too much, find a good shared hosting plan.

    We use about 100 GB of storage on the server, not too much actually. About 3-4 TB of bandwidth last time I checked.

    Hive is a virtual machine with 8 GB of RAM, a quad core CPU and 500 GB of storage.

    Use a free forum system to begin with, phpBB or SMF. Actually, if you dare to set up your own server or find some way to host it, I think Discourse (Google it) should be extremely good. It's free, you just need to host it somewhere (not shared hosting, most of the time because it's not PHP).

    scraaaatch? ssssssfffffffffff dunno lol im pretty slow actually, but i do animate things from scratch yes.

    I found it out! I think we are complete with the visual graphics almost.
    The only way to do it is Beats Light map wich in Unity free version sucks at. Why it sucks, because it bakes the lightning from Unity itself. It's not a bad thing since it turns the horrible shadows in to soft static shadows that actually look good and best of all it calculates AO to in the lightmaps :). A really huge issue is that it combines all the objects in one shadowmap which God only knows where it's placed! (The Texture goes in the project folder but the material itself is nowhere to be found and on what it's placed? :o) I have no control over the baked UV and it wastes a lot of space hence it looks like shit~

    However there are shaders with lightmaps also something I discovered recently is that they use UV chanel 2 which is why I will ask of you to implement the option to choose the chanel I want on each slot.
    We are going to use 3ds max lighting and I will give you the specifics to what I actually need when I have time, tomorrow maybe so don't do anything yet except the UV channel thing which is a good practical idea.

    Note, for outdoor scenes we will use more Ambient occlusion so we have to make something similar to the sc2 AO shader while for interiors and rooms we will need shadow maps. Don't worry I already found part of the answer for that.
