  • Yes :), I'm not quite good on advance modelling and advance terraining so I do the thing between them, helping requests,
    ----------
Hi Heinvers :3 how are ya?
    ----------
Oh hello. Sorry for the late reply.
I've been mostly busy with RL stuff and whatnot.

    How are you doing?
Looking good, but I would consider revisiting the design that you've placed on the forehead part of the helmet. It looks cool, but seems very ornamental and unfitting for a warrior. It looks like a pair of eyes to me. You don't necessarily need to replace them with anything. You could simply remove them.

Hey :) I really like what you've done with the skin so far. The color scheme is excellent! As for the helmet, I'm not really sure. I've never done a footman skin before, so I don't actually know what the model allows for. I noticed Hawkwing gave you some suggestions - I'd say you should go for something similar to his 2nd or 4th design. It'd look good with the red and purple colors you've used in the texture (and the golden borders obviously), but I think it needs to be mostly red. To fit best with the texture, having the red color be the first thing you notice on the helmet is the way to go IMO, like it is in Hawkwing's 2nd and 4th concept.
It's difficult to decide on a style without understanding the character you're trying to create, but I'd recommend bringing a screenshot of your character into photoshop and painting over it to come up with designs, or sketching it out on paper. Thinking of ideas by actually texturing them is slow and difficult. I tried using a 3D painting program. It was a quick way to play with different ideas and get to see the final output.

Hey, can you send me what you have right now? I really need that Falconer and Shard Launcher updates and maybe that Grunt too. Even if they're simple please send them ASAP.
Hey man! The armor you've added looks very good! The steel plate on his breast could use some more highlights, and maybe some more detail (perhaps you could fit in a Blackrock symbol or something?), and also the highlights on its borders look a bit strange (kinda hard to tell without seeing how it wraps on the model :p). I assume the reason that the mid-section of the bracer, the belt bucket, and the brown neck/shoulder armor are unshaded is because this is still a WIP? Other than that, I'd say it needs some sharper outlines between the different pieces of armor and where the armor meets the skin (like what you did between the pants and the belt). Specifically for the steel plate and his left breast, and the steel plate on the bracer (which could also use a bit sharper highlights). Anyways, you've done a great job with this, and I'd say a fully freehanded texture with this level of detail could easily be approved on Hive :)
Hey there! I'd be happy to share a couple things:
First and foremost is... you guessed it, practice. I know this is probably the response you'll get from anyone, but that's only because it's true. Keep making skins, and if you're satisfied with the result, upload them to Hive. Not all of them will be approved, but you'll receive plenty of feedback from reviewers and the moderator(s). Eventually, if you keep updating these skins and applying the comments of said people, they will get approved. You could also create a thread in the 'Texturing and Surfacing" forum for WIPs of your textures to receive constant feedback on every update (like you see some modellers do in the 'Modeling and Animation' forum). The only problem with this is that the texturing forums have been pretty inactive for a while now, and you might not receive as much feedback as you would uploading your skins.
Anyway, while practice is incredibly important, you can always improve you skill with specific types of textures through tutorials (and occasionally you might even learn a thing or two you'd be able to apply to all your textures (i.e. stuff about shading and highlights)). If you haven't already, I'd suggest you go through the 2d tutorials here on hive, and find some you like. Obviously, there are other (possibly better) tutorials out there on the internet, but these tutorials where made specifically for Warcraft III, so that's something to keep in mind.
One particular tutorial I was very fond of when I first got into skinning was Mr. Goblin's Tutorial. Now, this tutorial was made in Mr. Goblin's fairly early days, so some of the textures presented aren't incredible, but the reason I like this tutorial is because of the broad variety of textures it takes you through step by step. Also, the techniques used are something you'll be able to take with you when moving forward.
So, keep on keeping on, and I'll look forward to see more skins from you in the future! :)
Well.. Not much wrapping need to be change honestly, Just try change the texture of them to the BELiutenant... It's Already there XD
    ----------
I need your help changing the footman and The captain's wrap into something similar to the BE lieutenant model's wrap :3
    ----------
    What does it mean?
Will finish before tmr, dont worry, hope you are not in a hurry, i just have free time today, hope you dont mind
Actually, check out some WoD references. Use the new models found in WoD as a base.
Thats up to you :) Btw that Falconer looks a little blurry on the face. maybe fix that?
Hmm.. actually just PM me the matter you wish to discuss. I dont stay online long so yeahhh...
Thats exactly the kind of enthusiasm I need :) As of now its just you and because the rest of the group is either inactive or too busy. Most of the general resources are done though so theres not much work to do. Just a little polishing of textures here and there. I'll be working on the maps and for now, Im leaving you in charge of the resources so do as you please with the textures :) Just send some images from time to time for opinions and suggestions. Nice to see that youre still up and running
Hey bro Im back :) Been busy with RotTH. I really want to send you the stuff I've come up with but simply looking at the file size which is over 11kb, it'll take a long time to upload to a pastebin
Its on hold.. Been REALLY busy with life lately but I swear Im not giving up on it. Not after the hard work we've all done.
Im Not too free but I will try and Help If it is Simple Edit,
